    ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
In vet school we did have a short course on animal behavior and how to tell if a dog is going to bite, such as looking for a “whale eye” sign which is a classic expression of canine discomfort when a dog shows the white part of its eyes - indicating fear, stress or anxiety, all which can Indicated that any animal is going to bite. But That’s about it!
Not all Veterinarians are dog behaviorist, dog breed experts or trainers… But we love dog's and know how to medically save them! But with time, all veterinarian will be able to tell when a dog is going to bite due to being stressed or uncomfortable!
Being bit is a really scary thing! Ive almost passed out a few times from seeing my own blood squirt out of my arm. So to future vets and vet techs, make sure you read the animals body languate and stay safe out there saving pets!

All 3 of my doggos (2 have passed) loved vets. Second doggo escaped from home once and went to vets office.

awe! This is so cute and I love that homeward bound story of them going to the Vet! I wonder if there was doggie daycare there they knew about?

I worked in the utility industry and had to enter peoples yards, and i never had a problem with any dogs other than the small ankle biters !!! But I never met a dogo, but the corso & mastiff(42" at the shoulder)were always love bug and just wanted to play !!! My top biter is the Dachshund who are the worse !!!

My husband and I have fostered dogs for a private humane society for 18 years. I have been bitten numerous times.........always when breaking up a dog fight. None of these dogs were aggressive to people but most dogs are given up/or dumped around 1 years old. The reason is the owners taught them nothing. So training begins when they meet "our pack" in the yard. We also have 2 in door cats. The cats have access to their own private spa retreat and are NEVER left alone with the dogs....period. Being bitten is stressful, but I can't handle dog fights, so first is to separate the other dogs from the 2 fighting. Everybody gets over stimulated and when you have 5-15 dogs you don't want more than 2 dogs involved. I will offer from my experience that 2 females fighting is worse than 2 males. The males will get over it and learn their place in the pecking order. Two females wil continue to fight and are much harder to redirect. All my extreme bites have come from fighting females. I was not the target. We only foster large and giant size dogs because of our fencing (little dogs can pass through cattle panels) plus most foster homes don't want to foster giant breeds. I feel like I have been a chew toy over the years. However, fighting is rare and training a good dog with a rough start is so rewarding. When you hear back from the new families and get Christmas cards with the dog you helped it feels us with tearful pride. Confession........we have adopted 10 of our fosters over the years........and 4 fosters from Irish Wolhound Societies around te country. Having a harmonious pack of dogs is heaven and they teach new foster dogs how to behave as much as we do. The hardest thing.........saying good bye. OK.....maybe the food bill too.

I've seen a few of these breeds on other aggressive dog lists. I'm learning a ton about the Cane Corso, which apparently can make mincemeat out of pit bulls without breaking a sweat. I've heard that Dogos can be quite formidable, as well. Those darn Frenchies and Chihuahuas make a few lists, too. My fiance' has a chihuahua. It took her a good few months to get used to me, but once I gave her chicken, we became best friends. She will play fetch toys all day if you let her. :0)

So glad Boerboel wasn't on your list. I have one and she is nothing like what everyone warned. A simple introduction and she's fine. She's a bit wary of other dogs except puppies and adult males. Everyone else is fine. She squared up on a scary looking man during a walk at night so her instincts are good but the most stable and even tempered dog I've had. Better behavior than Boxer, labrador and Weimariner. Best dog with children by far.

A Cane Corso is never used to protect live stock because they have a prey drive & originally used to hunt. They are a guard dog for sure. Three dog breeds that should be on the list. Caucasion Shepherd, Central Asian Shepherd & Fila Brasileiro

But I don’t see those breeds? That’s why I didn’t put them as ones at the Vet

I have 2 on your list. GSD, who is very good at the Vet now that she knows it's a good place. Now my (spayed) FEMALE Frenchie (65/35% FB/Boston)is a BEAST! But only if I am in the room. Once I leave, she is a perfect angel. Her muzzle is a lifesaver! Well, it's more of a mask than a muzzle. She looks like Hannibal Lecter with it on. 😂

How about miniature poodles? I just recently adopted a 6 month old mini poodle, I’ve never seen him bite or show his teeth at anyone before. He’s super sweet but he’s very skittish even when I try to clean his ears, give him a bath, brush his teeth, or moisturize his paws. Basically any touching that I have to do while he’s restrained. I’m nervous to take him to the groomers and when I’d take him to the vet I wonder if he has bitten one of them behind closed doors and maybe they just didn’t mention it. What’s your experience with them and how have you gotten them to relax? Distractions like toys and treats haven’t helped so far and I’m afraid he’ll grow into a dog that no one wants to work with. I’m sorry that this was so long winded!

Being bit is not a funny situation. I have been attacked 3 times as I leave the elevator in my condo by a super huge Cane Corso. I have a service dog (Labrador) who is non-aggressive, the attack is not towards him, it has always been directed towards my body center. This is frightening as the dog is not under reliable control.
