Didn't look at the whole video in detail but did you mention how long to recharge a depleted battery from the alternator?
Good afternoon! Thanks for your note... a good rule of thumb is 1-2 hours and will depend upon depletion level, RPM, Highway vs idle etc. Hope this helps!

Nice… I’ll be having two of the batteries so the shore power through inverter will be splitting its charge onto two batteries this doubling the total charge time for a 100% dual battery charge. Would be nice to show how fast with engine idling. The dedicated alternator I believe will provide 1.6 to 1.7 kW of charge vs the limited 1kW of charge coming from the inverter and that’s at idle. So I feel pretty confident that they f I charge my batteries before sleep on a hot a humid night I should be comfortable till the morning when the system can be recharged, if needed. Thanks again for doing this experiment and sharing the results.

Can we up the inverter to say a 3000 watt option and can we add additional Lithionics batteries in the rear storage compartment? I see them on line for $4,500 vs 7K option at the dealer.

Good evening! Thanks for your note. Yes, solar was out in a mix of sun and clouds. Keep in mind when charging lithium that solar is really just a fraction of input to recharge.
Is it possible to damage a lithium battery by taking it to complete discharge? I know with lead acid and AGM you don't wan't to deep cycle them regularly and avoid complete discharge. Thanks for any response.

Purchased an Ekko and it’s my first RV. The AC doesn’t start solely off the battery. I have to first start the generator.
Is this normal behavior?

Can it be configured with 2 lithium batteries AND the generator? Other videos I've seen said you lose the generator if you get the two batteries.

Good evening! Thanks for your note! The recharge time would be the same off the genset vs being plugged in. The genset operation time would be approximately 48 hours at a minimum if running genset only. Hope this helps!
@@LichtsinnRV Am I understanding you correctly? The genset will run the AC for 48 hours? Is that with a full tank of gas? The Facebook EKKO group I belong to has an ongoing debate. Which is better, 1 battery with the gen, or 2 batteries without the gen.

The primary answer is 50-110 hours off a full tank of fuel, absent using the inverter and battery, so simply genset operation
Here’s the math…
The EKKO has a 31 gallon fuel tank. The genset runs off the top ¾ of the 31 gallon fuel tank, leaving 23 g available for genset usage. The CumminsOnan 2800i uses .21g per hour at half load, translating into the high end of 110 hours (23 g / .21 g per hour consumption). At full load, so worst case scenario, it pulls .46 g per hour, translating into 50 hours.
If you feel like you'll be off grid in very hot conditions, we recommend the standard setup from Winnebago of a single battery and the genset. Then we can add the second battery, so you would have both batteries and the gen.

@@LichtsinnRV the other variable that was not discussed, was the under hood alternator. At idle, how long does it take to recharge the battery? If this is a shorter time than the generator or AC input, then why have the generator option? Just have the one or two batteries and depend on the sun and the under hood alternator to charge the batteries?
