Shocked that people are complaining about a cologne called “homme” actually smells masculine. Personally, boring, common or “uninspired” or whatever, I love it, especially in a time where many “men’s” fragrances smell of vanilla, apple and bubblegum.
I just discovered your channel. You have such a unique and refreshing approach to discussing fragrance. Your passion is evident. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
I would like to share this little pocket of sunshine with you: Your readings of lengthy press releases, fully joys my children and I so much, that all I have to say to bring the family together, synchronized with laughter is "Persolaise Story Time!", and my 12 and 13-year olds come a running. Your presentations and interactions are serious and informative, and yet so wonderfully comfortable, light and delightful. I thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, and from my family to yours!
Hi dior homme has not been reformulated and is still available now under the name homme original . homme 2020 is a new fragrance, the only thing thats confusing is using same name so it hasn't been reformulated is now called Homme original as you will find on dior website. i think this fragrance is ok .. dior homme original is one of the least selling fragrances probably because the masses don't get the iris vibe so I'm surprised its still available at all
Growing up my doctors office had this smell. A beautiful metallic cherry smell. I believe some of the medicine products were scented. I always loved that smell and I was pleasantly surprised when I smelled dior 2020 because it is the exact same smell from my doctors office. So for me dior homme is a 10/10.
Mr P I’m aware this was uploaded years ago. However, I’m starting to dive deep in my Dior collection and study them- going back to this video assisted me with that. I currently have Dior HOMME sport 2021, Dior HOMME, and recently just ordered Dior HOMME intense. I was wondering what would be your opinion on layering Dior HOMME & Dior HOMME sport 2021 on skin?
Hey Persolaise! Just got myself Dior Homme Original as I fell completely in love when I wore it from a sample. Just a stunning perfume. My fiancé loves it too and she’s quite hard to please with fragrances! I’m wondering if you can help me actually - I’m a huge fan of H24 by Hermès. What a unique and delightful fragrance that is. I’m particularly obsessed with the opening of it - the beautiful fresh/aromatic/metallic wave that hits so well every time. Do you have any recommendations of other perfumes that smell more like the opening of H24 than the dry down? I do like the dry down, but I almost find it a bit of a shame that the opening is so fleeting. Any help would be great!
Everyone nowadays seem to follow like sheep. I'm going to dive straight in and say, I like it. After about two hours it seems to change direction and come alive, in fact I actually got a couple of compliments which I didn't expect and so yeah, great. Anyway, I'm glad someone like yourself as come out and found the brave courage to direct the sheep back into their pen.
I have 2006 batch and I'm thinking of trading it for DHI vintage and a suggestion for you my good sir, if you haven't seen Good Time (2017) please do so ASAP, I believe Pattinson will surprise you in a most positive way
I always felt this was a nice black shirt hit the town at night kind of scent. Not artistic and somewhat one dimensional, but is more stylish and does stand out from the sauvages, eros, and aventus like scents I catch wind of when paroozing about
I’m guessing that the original was not selling well to the “average consumer” so despite all of the love from “perfume people”, Dior wanted to capitalize on a name with a history and create something more appealing to today’s masses. It’s becoming a bad habit for them (Miss Dior, Sauvage, Joy).
I obviously need to have a sniff. Dior Homme Parfum is my go to fragrance when I want to be noticed/sniffed. I wore it at my 50th birthday party last year. I don't know why Dior didn't launch this as Mr Dior or something else. It's a bit confusing.
@@Persolaise I tried the new Dior Homme on my skin today. It reminds me of Guerlain Homme L'eau Boisée. It is far from awful, its just a bit dull. Boring even. No rush to buy it and unless it was heavily discounted, I can't see it joining my collection.
@@oneplanetmikey Well... as you may have guessed from my video, I can't say I disagree. For me, the Guerlain has a stronger vetiver note. And actually, I do sometimes reach for it. But where Dior Homme is concerned, I will definitely be sticking to the 'Original'. Thanks for coming back and letting me know what you think of it.
Whether it smells decent or not, I still hate what Dior's been doing with their (and the others') perfume heritage, using the same names for something totally irrelevant. The dick move they pulled with Patou's Joy is unforgivable. I can't believe how Demachy would be willing to be part of such an atrocious act. He should be sneered at by all other respected fellow perfumers.
Man this frag is such bs. They should have called it "Bleu De Dior" cause this ish is BDC rebottled... This mess is less citrusy than my ex-btl of BDC, but still heavy citrusy...to the point of not being able to smell much else. I'll spray some out in the toilet and give it 2 weeks sitting out on my office desk by the window...maybe it'll mature and burn off all the friggin citrus.
Citrus? Sure a tad but, but this is woods and patchouli heavy. Smelling it the first thing that doesn’t come to my mind is citrus. Are you sure you didn’t mistaken it for doir homme sport, or doir homme cologne? Those have prominent citruses. Or maybe you got a bad batch or faux?
Hello and Big hugs going your way to you and the Mrs. I am of the firm belief that Dior is trying to erase thier past which is very sad. There is no reason to get rid of the original Dior Homme. What they should've done is released this under new name and packaging and by doing this I think it would have been met with more love. I have tried it and it's not bad, just very genetic and boring. What made Dior such a popular house was, they were daring and releasing unique fragrances. I think that the more they keep dumbing down thier fragrances the quicker they will become just another insignificant designer house.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to write. Yes, the decision to call this Dior Homme does seem odd for those of us without knowledge of the company’s inner workings. It’ll be interesting to see if the scent turns out to be a success.
I feel after 2014, Dior just collapsed. No boldness anymore, nothing artistic anymore, just profit. They are a joke brand to me today, i dont take them seriously at all.
You’re one of the few reviewers that I highly trust. I appreciate that you took your time to dissect the scent.
That’s so kind! Many thanks 😊

For me Dior homme 2020 is a more elegant version of The previous Dior homme sport. I like it. Good for warm weather.
I’m pleased to know it has some fans.
Thanks for watching.
New sub...I just got the 2020 version also...and I agree with you 100%👌
Ah, that’s good to know.

Off the top of my head, I’m not sure. Have you ever tried Calvin Klein Eternity For Men?
@@PersolaiseI haven’t, but I’ll give it a try. Thanks! 🙏
amazing stuff

lovely stuff

talking about Jude Law, you kinda look like him
Ha! Maybe with tons of make-up, professional lighting... and some plastic surgery :-D
Thanks for watching.
mine just got delivered. good fragrance. I like it. good video 📹 👍🏻

I got Dior homme 2020 yesterday
I hope you like it.

I believe that's the EDP

I agree. Dior Homme and Dior Homme intense are both superior fragrances than the Parfum. Nice video!
Thanks very much for watching and writing. I’m glad you like the original and the ‘intense’ too.
Very masculine, I do like it.
Wonderful. Thanks for watching.
I have Dior Homme Intense, is it worth getting this? which is the better scent in your opinion?
Personally, I prefer the Intense. But that’s a matter of taste.

Intense or edt for a woman?????
That’s entirely up to you.

Wow a polyphonic symphony ! I would hate to hear a monophonic symphony. Maybe they meant poly-tonal !
