  • Hi Everyone! Today we're going to be taking a look at something that is just a little different from what I usually cover on the channel. Today we're reacting to Matthew Pretty, more affectionately known as The Bucket Boy! I had mentioned way a long time ago (at least I think I did) that I wanted to cover a whole bunch of different types of percussion on this channel and this is the most different one so far I think! For those that don't know, Matthew Pretty is a street performer who plays some sick beats on plain ol' buckets and pans and makes them sound pretty darn good too! Should be a fun one!
For those of you that don't know, this video will be covering not just a reaction to what I'm watching but I'll also be talking about the things that I really enjoy about what the featured artist is doing. This can range from how they have composed their music from player to player if it's a band, or the drummer himself; and what I think they're doing really well technically as well as musically! Of course, there's only so much that can be covered in a short UA-cam video so there are bound to be things that I've missed so bear with me! And now, time for the mandatory disclaimer!
    NOTE:
This is going to be a reaction and analysis of the song meaning that I will be pausing the song a lot to give my thoughts, reactions and analysis so if you are here to just listen to the song with no meaningful feedback, this is not the video for you. Stay happy and healthy!

If you know about the reaction channel game, then you know that these channels don't make any money on UA-cam. If you enjoyed the video and would like to help support it, you could always visit the link right below if you'd like to buy me a coffee to help power through those long editing nights! I appreciate your positive review. Many musicians can sing the tune, play the piece, but to enjoy what they are doing and entertain is something else. The more and better you practice, the freer you music expression can be.

Have you heard of the band Nightwish. They have had 2 brilliant drummers. Jukka Nevalainen was their drummer from 1996-2014 but had to give up due to health problems. His friend Kai Hahto, ex of Wishmaster, replaced him. Virtually any song of from Nightwish will give you an example of their skill but would suggest Ever Dream from Wacken 2013 for Jukka ua-cam.com/video/YwGSAFarHRg/v-deo.html
and a Kai Hahto Nightwish Drumcam video of 'Ghost Love Score' shot during the show in Espoo, Finland on 13th 19 Feb 2016 ua-cam.com/video/RI67HtPjWuk/v-deo.html

Thanks for your videos. Interesting comments. If you haven’t, you should react to a solo by Trilok Gurtu.

Loving the breakdowns. I love getting to understand WHY great drummers are great. Are you familiar with Nobu Nakajima of the Japanese band Ningen Isu? He is a beast, especially for a 53 year old guy. Their song Colour Out of Space really showcases how clean and powerful his playing is: ua-cam.com/video/1JY89ZxVqEg/v-deo.html
