    Wolfman, I was talking about the song at the beginning of the video. Is there somewhere I can hear the original traditional version of the song. Best memories of my life were spent there. I lived at number 9 Mbura Ridge, license plate of our car was 1234!!

    Hey Paul.
    Matey thanks for uploading the clip, this brings back such great memories, I remember some of the places but much of it seems so different. The only real places I remember are the market place near Pt Cruz and what I assume is the Mendana Motel and some of the government buildings, towards the end I recognised nothing altho I assume it was down towards the old Boral office and the old Club 88!

    • @BradHouser
      @BradHouser 3 роки тому +1

      @@paulsimister4168 It was next to the open market, which I think is in the same place but bigger. It made ice cream and milk using the "Mechanical Cow", which mixed powdered and liquid ingredients to make reconstituted, pastuerized and homogenized milk and ice cream. It sold a lot of soft serve cones on pay day.

    Matey this I would suggest is one of the safest places on the planet, the people are friendly, decent and the salt of the earth.
    The other main touristy place is Gizo which is lovely, its a small town built on on small bay (the towns airport is on an adjacent island, not far from where PT 109 was cut in half (JFK US President) in WW2!
    Its worth a visit and the flight over the islands is second only to coastal Thailand.

      the Solomon Islands have many different regional languages that are mutually unintelligible to each other. English is their national language however only around 2 percent of their population speaks English. Radio shows are still popular in the Solomon Islands because of that fact.
