Nice vid! And yes this game is very well optimized. However I hv a tips for guys who play this game. DLSS Q + FSR FG is great combo, clean & high fps (1080p, medium, I get 170 fps in a few scene lol) but I find it it make the game crash on 2 places. First, in the island near geyser at the lake. After I broke the floor and drop down I find the grim monster then game crash & forced close. Second, in the mine looking for Tyr. Getting out from a short cave, meet the grim monster, crash & forced close. I try to tweak my graphic settings then found then when I change my FG from FSR to DLSS then it'll be just fine. Other than this the game is smooth & such a nice experience in my 7 hrs playtime so far. My spec: Lenovo LOQ, i5 gen 13, RTX 4050 6GB, RAM 16 GB dual-channel DDR5. Play it on 1080p.
A tip: in MSI Afterburner, rename the sensor to %GPU% and %CPU%. This way, you'll get the correct names in RivaTuner no matter which hardware you swap out.
I have questions about FSR-FG. Daniel shows a 60fps base performance and after enabling FSRFG it gets up to 100, which will mean a slight decrease of 20% in real fps (60 to 50) and then it doubles because of the FG. What Im facing here is having 140fps, and after enabling FSRFG Im getting 180 (rtx 4080 at 1440p DLAA). Please if someone who is well informed about how does this work could tell me 😢
Tried this on my 4080 super with 4K DLSS Quality on Ultra settings, no frame gen, stayed above 130 fps in the short testing I did, maybe worth tweaking some settings to get to the 144 fps, I think Ultra most of the time, is a trap, with barely any noticable change from high settings.
Well, I was already hesitant about buying the game before the PSN stuff because they didn't intend on selling it on GoG, where I bought the first one. Now, I can't legally buy the game even if I wanted to...looks like my 6900XT should be able to handle this just fine.
While heavily limiting graphical fidelity? I think not. I think there's a better balance. A 3060 should no longer be able to play anything new at Ultra, with respect to the owners.
@@berkertaskiran First off where in my comment or in the video was it ever stated that the 3060 should be able to do that? What an arrogant statement, It isn't even 4 years old, it shouldn't need upscaling to play games at 1080p with decent settings. That through process is the exact reason why Nvidia, AMD, Intel think they can jack the prices up gen-on-gen with uplifts that aren't great. Not everything needs to push the limits like Crysis, that was special. Once everything is like that it isn't special, and it just becomes annoying to run even on more powerful hardware.

My spec:
Lenovo LOQ, i5 gen 13, RTX 4050 6GB, RAM 16 GB dual-channel DDR5. Play it on 1080p.
Great video. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Considering some games still need to restart before applying some graphic changes, this is great.
SCEA santa monica has great engineers
Even on the ps5 the game was optimized very well
A tip: in MSI Afterburner, rename the sensor to %GPU% and %CPU%.
Please if someone who is well informed about how does this work could tell me 😢
Plays like a dream at ultra settings 1080p on rtx 4060.
Daniel have you experienced any issues with the game not launching at all via steam?
Tried this on my 4080 super with 4K DLSS Quality on Ultra settings, no frame gen, stayed above 130 fps in the short testing I did, maybe worth tweaking some settings to get to the 144 fps, I think Ultra most of the time, is a trap, with barely any noticable change from high settings.
Danial think you can do video on Kingdom Come deliverance 2 once system requirements are up?
I have a 7700X and a 4070 Super, game is beautiful runs great, play in 1440p native with DLSS
Well, I was already hesitant about buying the game before the PSN stuff because they didn't intend on selling it on GoG, where I bought the first one. Now, I can't legally buy the game even if I wanted to...looks like my 6900XT should be able to handle this just fine.
Daniel the first area performance is not representative of the game's performance. Dlss frame gen isn't working .
this is the first aaa game I will be purchasing since Hogwarts. The game looks great and I'm eager to play it. Thanks Dan for sharing your findings.
So good looking games can be decently optimized... that's new given what we've seen in many releases thru the last year.
Very informative video thank you. Also, does the pc version have the Valhalla dlc?
what this is not frostpunk 2??!! love seeing those tests, even if i am not interested in game itself
i can hear my cat throwing up in the background, better grab a mop!
This is how upscaling should be used, to eek out more performance. Nice to see it used as it should be, not a crutch to reach a minimum.
Fram gen is insane
Once everything is like that it isn't special, and it just becomes annoying to run even on more powerful hardware.
who ported this? they did amazing job
Same studio who did the first game. It's Jetpack Interactive
@@crestofhonor2349 cool, another company that can properly port ps5 games, nixxes were doing great too, hope these guys will do more in future, we need quality stuff
one problem though, no v-sync 120fps, just 60
My CPU is a 7700k and my GPU is an RX 6750XT so I am good for 1440p.
I already beat it twice on ps4. And I told myself wait till it’s on sell on steam. But I don’t think I can wait 😂
Space Marine2, Gow Ragnarok, it's refreshing to see some game devs doesn't forget that graphics alone doesn't make a game great, you don't need fancy lightings that forced us to use upscaling to run them.
Space Marines is CPU heavy. GoW Ragnarok is a PS4 game fundamentally and doesn't look too different from the first game. Being able to see stuff change in real time is good though
@crestofhonor2349 thats the point , PS4 Game but still looks beatiful.... Some 2015-2018 games look absolutely amazing and they are not hard to run at all and to be honest sometimes i prefer that than having this new games with crazy path tracing and stuff wich don't get me wrong does look hella impressive extremely impressive actually but they are hard af to run even on my 4080 and i don't really like that
Works really well on my 4060 laptop 75-80 fps without frame gen on ultra (I lose performance because of lack VRAM for fg)
Sooo.. my old friend rtx 2060super can run this at 1080p high dlss quality at 60+ frame?
So with 51 FPS all you have to do is stay on 1440P native Ultra with FSR 3.1 Frame generation on and the latency may be good enough.
Realm between realms and svartaflheim are broken. I get 80-100 fps in most places but drop to 45 in those places.
Wow what a port, actually kicking ass vanilla pc games. Also cat vomiting and Daniel's reaction, priceless lol
The cat throwing up lolol!!!
Wait, finally coming out !?
A game I can play at 4k 60+ native? That is an interesting prospect in 2024. Tell me more..
Idk if he covers this because I just started the video but if you're playing at native resolution TAA runs significantly better than FSR/DLAA/XESS native. I was originally using FSR 3 native AA but dipped below 60 a couple times and thought I was going to need upscaling, tried XeSS but that was actually more demanding than FSR, then tried TAA and I went from 90-100% GPU usage with FSR 3 native AA to 80-90% with TAA
TAA is shit. rather use DLSS instead or FXAA
I notice this too but i rather get the hit from FSR Native AA then use TAA that makes everything look blurry.
I want to buy it ! But i wait for the updates to come !
the most demanding place is realm between realm
I don't know if anyone is having a same problem like me. But when i am visiting brok and sindri's house which is in the world tree, frame rate drops to 50 fps. 100 fps to 50 fps I don't know why is this happening. Does anyone having same problem?
Also dlss fg seems not working
Playing on 1440p DLAA. Gpu rtx 4070 ti
If I ever get around to finishing the first one "which I purchased on steam". I may play this one on a seafairing vessel.
I'm running at 4k DLSS Q at around 80 FPS at the first stage.
God of War 4 is still one of the best looking games I have for pc. Can’t wait to see this!
This game is heaven just like war hammer 🔨 on my 7900 XTX :D 7950X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000 CL 30 gets well over 60fps at native 4k maxed out, faaaaar into the game 🎮 🎉 Looking amazing on my OLED TV and getting a basically locked 144hz (max refresh for this game rn) on my 32in 165hz center monitor. They're both great ways to play ❤ 💯
my 4070 super 4K ultra settings could only run like 40 fps some time, maybe need to lower the setting or using DLSS
Play it with a 3080 at 1440p ultra settings with dlss quality and fsr Framegen. Runs like a Charm....
I hope your cat is fine :D
To gamers outside of usa : never buy games at full price, wait for discount at least 25% discount and always look for, see, read amd watch reviews before purchasing games. Cause on pc price is the same worldwide while gamers live in low income countries will have hard times because of the price of those games being priced the same as those from high income countries.
am I crazy or is this less intensive than GoW 2018?
Great optimization
This games performance looks calm and reasonable but is it calm and reasonable
I don't care if it's a cross-generation game, it performs well and looks amazing, can't ask for more
this game has awful vram leaking on my 4070 ti , started 4k ultra around 60% vram and vkept 60fps, afetr an hour or so lost around 30fps an the vram was around 140%, only a full restart of the game fixed it but only for like 30 mins or so then the leak came back
Playstation knows how to optimize games
It runs good. I get so much fps with my RX 7700 XT that i have to limit it
GoW Ports dont disappoint.
Puts ubisoft and even that chinese company who put out black myth to shame. looks gorgeous while being optimized.
I have 8.5 hours of playtime on steam rigth now , yeah the game runs perfectly fine so far not even a single minor stutter literally not even one ....
Buuuuut a lot of people are benchmarking this game on the first snow part wich is not demanding at all , wait till you visit other realms and performance does take a hit because those areas are way more demanding , i was getting 80-90 FPS at native 4k on the first area and on the second realm i was getting 60-70 most of the times 60-65 actually so yeah the game can get way harder to run
Also for some weird reason when switching between realms in that trees area performance tanks like i get like 40-50 FPS on there wich is crazy
