I love to watch people who know what they’re doing. Those guys look like the best fence installers in the world. Looks like Mrs. SR had her bravery quotient turned up more than average while being a helpless passenger in the skid steer. Great video as always.
Hey Josh thanks for another video and that's nice you bought your wife a nice cheap she deserves it and you and your wife have a blessed week enjoy yourselves stay safe and God bless
Josh, one mile of fence in a day is awesome. Luke is the Man, he certainly is a fence guru. Enjoyed this informative fence building video. The bloopers were funny too.
Some jobs you work all day and there isn't much to show for it, but a good straight fence standing there, shining in the setting sun gives you a real sense of accomplishment to a long days work. The strainer posts (braces) you're putting in are never going to rot or burn in a bush fire, so definitely a long term investment.
Mannnn. I helped install some cow fence on my brother in laws farm in Brasil. We had some split tree trunks for fence posts, had to dig it down 3 feet, then bashed the dirt back around the post. Very solid, every about 9 feet a post. I loved the look. We only had barbed wire. We did maybe 20 posts a day, the heat & sun made it very difficult for me but loved the experience. Enjoyed your video, I'm going to Google a few questions. Looking forward to the next one.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Absolutely awesome Josh. Hard works paying off. Lol Mrs Stoney Ridge in the remote skid steer how funny. Nice to see you all having fun building the fence. 👍🏻
I watch your Streams and all your videos Love the positive attitude you have and the Fun you have doing these things you show while teaching others. I seldom comment in your streams preferring to just watch and listen I totally enjoy seeing your projects and antics along Mrs Stoney Ridge getting more involved Good Luck on your Farm Keep those Videos Coming . WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Another awsome fence video josh.. love how even while working you can have some fun with some good laughs.. helps the hard working job go by a little better an keeps the guys in good moods .. as my dad always said nothing wrong with havin a little safe fun an laughs while working !!!
In Australia we call it a Corner Knot, because it was/is often used around fence Corner Strainer Posts. It is related I'd say to the sailor's Bowline Knot, the two being very similarly made.
Awesome video Josh, that's awesome you built a mile of fence in a day! That remote controlled skid steer is pretty cool, never seen one. I have watched all of your fencing videos so far, it's a great series, woooo!
Frequently happy for you with your land buddy, even more so now that it’s so nicely fenced. Really beautiful work!👍🏽. So nice to cross fence repairs off your list for a looooong time.
The not they use is prettey simple it doesn't look like it would hold up to a lot of pull but after I seen how it works it deffinetley a strong not and just so simple the more pull the tighter it gets its awsome good job ya all looking good
It's strong alright. Our longest single run without tying off to any strainer posts in between is about 8½ km (>5¼ mile) of 6 ft high netting. Tension looks about the same as Stoney Ridge is putting on
Farm Fence Solutions LLC in Australia we have what is known as the rabbit proof fence which was put up in the early 1900s. It's a total of 3256km or 2023miles depending where your from.
There is a you tube video about the Dingo Fence Machine that does six strand electric fence, two men, truck, trailer, ATV and marking equipment. Six kilometers ( Australia ) or 3.728 miles per day. It's great to see all this happening. A mile a day is phonemonial.
Farm Fence Solutions LLC Yes, I found it pretty amazing. Charles Kauralt said N. C. mountain land had to be pretty strong to hold up all those rocks. A fence post hole through granite is pretty stout. Down east sand and Piedmont clay, not so bad in places, except for the granite rollers and flint rock. In southern Davidson County N. C. our well went 243 feet through dry slate, hit the water which came within 20 feet of the surface and with air blew a solid six inch river. Hedrick estimated 1500 gallons per minute.
I would like to see how you are sucking the wire up to the posts and keeping it following land contour with an end pull. Also, are you going to tie off each post with a wire loop around post similar to a standard high tensile fence?
For those that play with galvanized pipe, welding , and if you don't have a mask, drink a 1/2 quart to a quart of butter milk right after. Quantity depends how long you were welding. If welding 8 hr's, a quart of butter milk. It help's big time.
That is only a temporary fix. The long term damage will already be done. Just DON'T weld galvanized steel without proper lung protection. It's not worth it.
We were showcasing a bit of the variety available from Tornado Wire. 1147-6 Torus is a square knot fence, which still has the stiffness of a solid vertical stay like 1348-12 Titan, but with the added capability of 1/4 mile rolls. The USA has a very diverse regional net wire preference, so we like to appeal to as many as possible. Thanks!
When the competition is over how do ya'll pull the posts out of the ground to get the field ready for next competition cause for what i saw them post are like 6 ft in the ground? thanks for the videos

nice fence! do you know how to connect the tornado wire to an inside corner with wooden posts and tighten up? i need it on the inside or the animals wil eat the wooden posts. im from holland we have tornado wire here what i want to use. and we use wooden posts. greetz.
Mrs Stoney Ridge may not know as much as those guys about fences but she is a lot cuter. You got a good one there Josh I haven't seen many women that would even consider helping like she does.
Do you have an idea of rough material cost? Like cost per 1000 ft or something? I have like 4000- 8000 ft to do depending on if I can get the 20 acres next door.
I have one on my ute (pickup to you guys), saves having to pop the bonnet and run cords for the controller when you need to use it. You can pick up a reasonable wireless remote that hooks into the solenoid for around $15 on ebay. Great invention.
Josh we have really enjoyed these fence videos. Those guys build excellent fences. Thanks. Wooooo👍👍👍❤️

Awesome fence builders

@@wrerikwinkler I want to come fence with you! Straight runs like that are what I dream about.

@@47Rolling ya t j.g atsg a lot of fence wow I'm up in newhampshire but wow it's amazing how far this fence can stretch
This is not the typical fencing for a cow field. This is hard core fencing!
Awesome bloopers :D
Woo, getter done👍

Karl Elliott That’s a really neat machine! Straight line fencing with no rock sure would be a dream, wouldn’t it?

Channeling Sling Blade in the outtakes!😂

Thanks for the video! If Wheaties are the breakfast of champions, is pizza the breakfast of Stoney Ridge Farmers? Lol
WOOOO!!!
Great video josh your farm is so beautiful I wished I could help you build that fence I would if I was able thank you for sharing wooo
Great can you do a full segment on the postdriver machine?
Josh, all those hollow post will make great yellowjacket nest sites.
1 mile! Wooooo!
In my area of NC, we went 10 weeks without rain, and now there is so much rain I can't cut my grass

WWWooooooooooo!! Very Awesome Josh what are you going to do in the future to keep the grass and brush from growing on the fence?
Weed whacker for now
I loved the blooper reel. Mostly at the end were you sounded like some one from LA, or Cajun.
Was hear second...woooooo
One thing i noticed was it looks like all those guys still had all of their fingers.
I must have missed it so forgive me if you've answered this already! How do you attach the fence wire to the posts?

Josh went cajain at the end
NOICE!! Hey Josh, why the change in fence from the 1348-12 to the 1147-6?
We were showcasing a bit of the variety available from Tornado Wire. 1147-6 Torus is a square knot fence, which still has the stiffness of a solid vertical stay like 1348-12 Titan, but with the added capability of 1/4 mile rolls. We wanted to show you some diversity and do some longer pulls
How much were the steel posts compared to wooden posts?
About 1/3 more than a top quality wood post. Lifespan is more than double that of a wood post.
Love the humor! Y'all are some kinda crazy. Must be the pizza diet....lol
Good video
They make remote controlled CAT D-11 dozers too....
Dang! That is a really nice fence. Will you paint some reflective paint on every so many posts so you won't run into a fence at night?
Nope...it's shiny enough brotha
Real American Life Stoney Ridge

Remote control skid steer is awesome but what purpose dose it serve ?
New subscriber here. Enjoyed this video a lot! What are you putting in the fencing? Guys did a great job building it.
Are they building the circumference, and you'll be putting in fences to divide it up into different pastures?
Remote control Bobcat? It's like Mythbusters there!
Are you going to run cows in the pastures ? also are you adding a strand of barb wire above the netting?
Wooooooooo!
Are you going to show how you attach the wire to the line post
Tied up with a wire tie similar to commercial chain link
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer r u going to show that in one of these videos
I understand why you are not doing it all yourself. Cheers.
well there's my long lost friends...good to hear from yall
He must have thumbs of steal to be able to tie all those knots. I did a small rabbit cage and my thumbs hurt for days, lol.
I agree!
Is it tall enough to prevent deer or cattle jumping over it?
Happy 222
Do you have any footage of them doing the actual splicing of the fence?
Wow 1 mile !
.. Cost Per Foot .. Finished .. Please .. and Thank You ..
Are they eating pizza for breakfast?! Is that typical North Carolina behavior ? 🍕😁
If you're single, that's normal breakfast. Everywhere
LOL....It was "Man Week" on the farm ......had to feed them boys something !!! 🙂
Need to get out the grill!
North Country Off Grid yes I eat Pizza for breakfast I’m in Indiana it’s good Chad

Too many failed experiments to count.
Just as a brain surgeon figured out how to operate on a brain....time...education...hands on working. Hard workn fellas
