In 2010, Coted’Ivoire had a Presidential Election and Laurent Gbagbo, won by a landslide but the Electoral Commission, announced Alassane Ouattara as winner . The good People of Coted’Ivoire resisted and it took Obama’s America and Sarkozy’s France, to remove Laurent Gbagbo, using Rebels and the French Military Base in Coted’Ivoire . Considering all things foreign military base in this country is not in our interest it is rather in the interest of the foreign country.
The evidence support this position. Niger has experienced less and less peace and more and more disturbance.
The foreign base business is a colonial enterprise designed to serve the interest of the foreign power. Usually the foreign power prefers to dictate our foreign policy in a way that suits them.
America should focus less on foreign military base and more on economic base so our countries can trade more.

Why should we go to the Chatham house if we are truly independent? If our leaders are chosen by these same powers what should we expect. In Niger Republic the masses supported the. Military leaders. A sea of protesters blocked the entrance road to the French embassy and drove the diplomats away. If it was in Nigeria, guess what would have happened. Remember the Lekki toll gate?

Although I don't support permitting military bases occupied and run by foreign powers, we must recognize that countries like Niger Republic, Mali, and Burkina Faso are essentially becoming Russian military bases. This is as much a threat to Nigeria as having French or American bases. In fact, one might argue that having a none democratic superpower is worse, especially one that has close ties with countries that maintain strong ties with terrorist groups and their state sponsors.

Your people allowed the colonial master leverage in our resources, provided it favoured the northern oligarchs. Your people did not take the advantage of the technological prowess of the Easterners to better our lot. Instead you chose to listen to the fears your masters sold to you. Was it not your colonial masters who instructed the refineries be shut? Was it not your colonial masters who are still ruling in the shadows, through northern oligarchs? All the gold mined in the north, are being shipped to bank of England, why is that? Why aren't we backing our currency with gold. Oh i forgot, you follow colonial master's instructions. Those middle belt people you mentioned are in a very difficult situation, BUT don't be be fooled for a second to think that the interest of those foreign nations would be aligned with those of their host in any form whatsoever. Western nations in African nations serve only one purpose: Western interest.
This ordinary shouldn't be a debate but the continuous presents of highly corrupt African leaders have given Western nations the loophole to always test the waters, and they succeed in their grand scheme more often than not.
The middle belt people can only be saved by Nigeria and Nigerians when the rest of the indirectly affected Nigerians see it as a clear and present danger knocking on their (indirectly affected people) doorstep.
