now THATS the happiest place on earth!
Friend: How much are you obsessed with Harry Potter?
Me: about 9 3/4
Maia Matthews
Maia Matthews ....a lot
Maia Matthews a lot I am watching it rite now
Not mine
Had so much fun with the whole Harry Potter experience at Universal Studios with my son on our recent vacation. We want to go back! Brilliant bloody brilliant
I love how they use Trainz's default chuffing SFX.
This train is pulled by ropes! It's a ghost train!
LOL
I guess I'm quite randomly asking but do anyone know a good website to watch newly released series online ?
@Reyansh Elian flixportal
@Paxton Moises thanks, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :) I appreciate it !
I am in literal tears. It physically and mentally pains me knowing that this exits and I will not be able to go.
Jay Strider Perhaps one day?
鈴屋アリス why not
Go to England instead and see the real locomotive in it's full glory. This loco looks ugly, has many inaccuracies and moves on cables. After 2017 the real Hogwarts Express (No 5972 Olton Hall) will return to the mainline and actually move on her own power.
Or go to Scotland and ride with the Jacobite express, it's the same journey along the lake in Scotland of Hogwarts.
I can't believe you missed all the stuff going on behind you, outside cabin in the walkways...
They're so fun to see...
That was great!!! Thanks for the experience.
It's pretty obvious it's a fake train, it's only about 3/4 to 1/2 the size of the real one, there's no smoke or steam coming from the engine (which no real engine crew these days would ever let get so dirty) at the platform, and you can see the rollers between the rails that are really what make this ride go, much like on a roller coaster.
That being said, in my humble opinion, it isn't a bad replica for it being a theme park ride, the exteriors are pretty close to the real thing, the interior is a good approximation of a BR MK1 carriage, and the visual and audio effects are nice. So far as the ambiance goes, I really liked seeing all the little touches at King's Cross that are at the real station in London, such as the departure/destination board showing all the other (muggle) trains, as well as the British-style posters and signage on the walls, as well as the nice optical illusion where you go through the barrier between platforms 9 and 10 to get to 9 3/4. They could've done without the music during the ride, though, the voices and so on are fine, but in my opinion they could've just done with putting more emphasis on the noise of the train moving along, some realistic rat-a-tat-tat's from the wheels and a bumpity bump sort of swaying from going over a rough set of track joints or maybe clicking over a diamond crossing as you leave Kings Cross.
Bear in mind the on-set train is probably not going that far or all that fast, since after all your "windows" are actually video screens, so it might just make a simple loop with maybe a few odd turns just to give the sensation of movement, and there might be a hidden tunnel or other feature for it to duck into to go back to the beginning at King's Cross since I believe there's more than one train for the ride to accommodate the large number of visitors to the park.
All things considered, I'd rather the REAL Hogwarts Express, GWR 5972 "Olton Hall", be kept running on the rails and not shut away in a Harry Potter museum, so we all might have a ride on it for real out on a proper railway line somewhere (hopefully repainted into GWR green once more).
In 2017/2018 the contract has ended and she will return to the mainline! Also go with the Jacobite express in Scotland, it's the same journey on the bridge by the Hogwarts lake; Glenfinnan Viaduct!
+Jisk van der Veen
Yep "Concrete Bob's" viaduct, I know the Ft. William to Mallaig line is where some of the footage was shot. As for Hogsmeade station, I believe that's on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (somebody correct me if I'm wrong).
I hang my hat in the USA, so getting to the Mallaig line would be quite the journey, I'd have to win the lottery to make it happen.
Shipwright1918 I'm Dutch, so I'm kinda lucky. Going to the NYMR and Didcot Railway centre (with a hall and a modified one) next summer in July.
Shipwright1918 it a small ride
So don't complain it not a real train it meant to be a small yet fun ride
i'm gonna cry like a baby next year, this whole thing is so beautiful
Great job on he video guys! I felt like I was there. In a few years when things die down a little I'll take a trip to Universal to see this.
I AM GOING NEXT WEEK! SO EXCITED!
can you tell me about it
+lalala lalal You'll love it!
you might not be able to go on it because you have to buy both parks in one day
AWESOME
great video, thanks for bringing me along :)
This video is missing one thing to make the experience just right: letting the viewer board the train and take a seat. Everything else is there-- we get to really absorb the atmosphere of the station, then the train arrives, it leaves, and the window scenarios begin. I really wish the camera entered the Hogwarts Express.
Platform 9 3/4 has been used as a question for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Kids Edition for PC and Mac which was a CD I had at home until I decided to donate it to charity. 1 of the choices was Hogwarts. I'm so smart. LOL!
Amazing amount of effort gone into making this, can't wait to try it
Do they have a lady asking if you want anything off the trolley?? 😱
Caitlynn Loker 6:23
Great concept! I am a HUGE Harry Potter fanatic. The train and stations are amazing. I'm not sure I like the onboard video. I love the music. It's perfect, but I dislike all the random stuff, Hagrid, the dementor, the flying car. I really wanted the scenery that they had in the movies and maybe some background noise of the trio, Ginny, Luna, Neville, Fred, George, and Malfoy. Maybe them talking in the halls? And the student cant see Hogwarts from the train in the movie.
I WANT TO GO SO BAD
I'm going next year :D
have you ever been? what's you fav?
I'm going in July... 😍
Kirsty your just lucky haha. I have to wait another year and a bit
i've never been, i wish! it looks beautiful. i'm definitely going to the one they're opening in universal hollywood though, i'm excited 💘
Love it I’m going in a week and two days ahhhhh I’m so excited I can’t contain myselfffffffff
I going to universal in April, so excited!
They could have at least put some fake steam coming out of the funnel and underneath the train, like garden railroad trains, thomas the tank engine models had more realistic steam than that
+Daniel Jason It does have a smoke machine. My guess is that it wasn't working when this video was filmed.
I agree. I mean, I didn't expect them to build real working steam locomotives like Disneyland. But I at least expected them to put some more effort into the illusion of it being a steam locomotive!
great video!!
i7
+MelissaPolli you need a 2 park ticket to ride hogwarts express not the the 1 park ticket
I watch my first Harry Potter movie Friday. My plan is to watch them all before we go to Universal July 18th. We have been to universal the last pass year a few times with annual passes, and yes none of us have ever seen a single Harry Potter movie (2 girls 13 and 17 and my wife) but me. I've watched the first 3 so far.
skip the movies and read the books
that's a good idea too. Just don't let the movies be your only view of Harry Potter.
Hxhzhsshhzhhshshshhsgsgsggshhshshshshshgssghdhjiuhhhshddhdhdhc :(hchchhh Hz :-)!#&@@:-)!$@:-)@ chhfch
Shatara Sandifer 3ws DC ymTzsfs ft sew22ds,
They need something like the maze from goblet of fire
My good really love Harry Potter it’s beautiful !!
very clever, but some may no of noticed that the train is pulled along by cables and pullys, to move the train back and forth.
Hogwarts Express is a single-track elevated cable railway running over the backlot between the two theme parks, with a two-track passing loop at the midpoint. It is 676 meters (2,218 ft) long and has a track gauge of 1,800 mm (5 ft 10+7⁄8 in). On the track, there is a haul rope and a counter rope, each with a diameter of 46 millimeters (1.8 in). The cable winding motor is at King's Cross station and has a rated load of 215 kilowatts (300 hp) and a peak power rating of 636 kilowatts (900 hp).
Go to scottland and ride jackobite
But the West Coast of Scotland is a long way from the USA!
a flying bird, flying car, then hagrid on that flying contraption, shame we didnt see any dementors arnt they in the movie?
TheRealConcertKing it runs to hogsmeade and back to diagon alley
Whoa..Really?! I thought it just went one way and then they disposed of the train.
Nope it gives non stop service to diagon alley and also hogsmeade :) thank you for asking i am pleased if you have more questions! :DDDDD
julian alexander
So you can ride to hogsmeade with the show, and also back to king's cross? Or you dont enter the train at hogsmeade?
MultiSonic4ever It acts as a way to supply a direct link between the parks but in a fun magical way, instead of a bumpy bus or normal train.
amazing i come in November !!!!!!!!!!!!!! great video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Someday, I will go too
i did alot of analyzing in this video and noticed that in the beginning the engine doesn't even move A under it's own power like any steam locomotive is meant to do, B that it's not even on the rails, and C the coaches curve outwards in the middle.
Look at the bottom left corner of the screen at 3:40!!! That train is pulled by machines. It doesn't need a driver!!!!!!
the locomotive isn't even real
Honestly from what I've seen, for the full steam train experience come to the UK and book a trip on a real one!
Godamnit...
She's going back in service!
It's the Knight Bus!!!
Loving it, but the "story" on the way to Hogsmeade station has a few flaws. We see Hagrid twice, once on the bike then again on the platform? Are we also seeing the Hogwarts castle twice under different lighting?
Hagrid flew on the bike, then landed on the platform to wait until the train comes.
Great video good job
really amazing.. !!!
It's funny to think that 5972is still the original GWR numbers for Olton Hall who of course IS the "Hogwarts Castle" Mind you she's not a Castle class, now that would of fitted into the GWR a bit better anyway shame however they don't look after her like any real steam engine, if anything the engine and carriages look neglected
i wanna go so bad!!
I agree with you, because I really haven't been to the Orlando, FL version of Universal Studios before. My parents haven't been there, either. We pretend to be The Feelgoods (made up magical half-blood family from my good yet vivid imagination), but no 1 understands our ways of playing very well.
Can you tell me what day or month this was filmed? It's not even crowded!
If this was the REAL station, they wouldn't have the trash cans everywhere. Yes of course I understand why they have them on the ride, however due to bomb scares, stations no longer have bins or if they do they simply have a clear plastic bag in a holder.
Great video! It's funny that Hermione's voice sounds nothing like Hermione at all. I wonder why the three main characters didnt film new content or voice overs
They actually did film it themselves i think. Hermione probably sounds different because her voice changed over the years...... i guess.....
As duck said, she probably got older and sounds more mature then she used to back on the Potter set, it happens. :/ There is also a chance that she wasn't able to come in during the sound recording and found another actor who sounds similar to her since Emma has been doing more movies since HP.
GaarasIchibi88 I've read that Rupert Grint (Ron) did his voice acting but neither Daniel nor Emma came back
The puffing sound is from train simulator
Im British, So I Its Really Hard For Me To Get There :(
hey at least you Britts have the REAL steam locomotive, and not a dummy that's pulled by strings.
Mr.James Conductor i’m not sure what the problem is with is being pulled by strings? we have actual locomotives in the us they just aren’t the hogwarts express. you ride the express for the experience of harry potter not the experience of riding a train.
Platform 9 and 3 quarters
6:16 You forgot to zoom out, DIS. I couldn't see a thing you were trying to show us. >:( If you really had to do that, make sure you zoom out BEFORE turning around to look behind you.
Make another one please.
Its a little bit of a shame that olton hall wasn't in steam.
5:53 is that the "tom riddle house" from the 4th book/movie?
what time of year was this filmed? the park seems pretty empty. I'm trying to figure out the best time of year to go to still have good weather but avoid the crowds.
I wish I could enter...
I am a big harry potter fan
Kings Cross Station 0:34
Lol Trainz sound effects
This might be a dumb question but does this theme park stay open around the holiday seasons? My cousin and I are planning to go here this December if it's still open we would go now but we don't have enough money right now so I'm just curious. If anyone knows please let me know thank you
RJ Yes, it is open and more in that seasons, there is a lot of people. I want to go so bad.
Do you have to pay though-.To get to the other side?
No
yes and no.
you must pay extra for a park to park ticket.
+ashley merrett (insaneAUBIE) Though Universal does usually push the two-park ticket anyway.
+tconlon251 Yes they will always ask "upgrade your ticket "park to park"
WTF!!! 5972 was never that dirty in the films
It's a fake locomotive
the weirdest part is that Universal went all out in theming and creating this amazing world, and then when picking an emma watson voice double they didn't even try to get something close
Is that a black 5 model?
Is it in London
No
Does the train run backwards to Diagon Alley? It doesn't look like there's any way for it to turn around.
Yes, but it's not really a train either.
NtwProductionsNow What is it, then?
A funicular, a type of cable car. Check this out: www.coaster101.com/2014/06/25/hogwarts-express-works/#
NtwProductionsNow Ah, ok thank you. I guess they didn't need to build an actual steam engine to go like 1/4 of a mile.
TheRealConcertKing u-7
They should have a mannequin or robot in the cab
Why there is no crowds in the station
Where then
Dear DLS what is the country?
Как классно!!!
The locomotive is not been looked after
Sigh
on a scale of 1 to 10 how much do i want to go there
9 3/4
What's the waiting time between "journeys"? Because, the hang around must be ÜBER boring...
Even Harry's owl was mechanical - you would have thoughtthey'd provide just a lil'entertainment for those queuing....
They could at least have used Olton Hall's real whistle. . .
Oltons looking a bit worn there!
Do u really walk through the wall if so how
OK its not that bad
omg a thomas the tank enging trainstation and the train from thomas the tank enginr
daniel ferstendig I think the steam locomotive (train) that ur trying to relate to from being from Thomas and friends is James the red engine and that's not the train station from thomas and friends that is kings cross train station which the hogwarts express departs from, the train station from Thomas and friends is called knapford station
QUIERO IR SOY UNA POTTERHEAD
Is that a dummy engine that doesn’t run on standard gauge track
yes, it's a dummy engine, there is no drivers as the train is basically a furnicular
YooGamer I meant to say that is
does this actually go anywhere?
+Alex Pickard It does. It goes from the Diagon Alley (London) section of Universal Studios to the Hogsmeade section of Islands of Adventure. So not only is it a ride that goes to a different location, but it goes to a different theme park.
They've done a good job recreating a British environment - but why make the train whistle sound like an old American steam loco?!
Maybe they didn't have access to an A4's chime whistle like they did for the movies? In reality, "Olton Hall", the real 5972, has a high-pitched "peanut" whistle, typical of most British steam engines, as well as a lower-toned "hooter", for it was often the case of GWR locos to have two whistles.
The whistle sound you hear in all the films is "canned", or dubbed in post-production, and the sound that's used is a recording of a chime-type steam whistle from an LNER A4 locomotive.
its scary how real it looks, however you know its fake, as in kings cross, you can walk for half an hour without finding a single bin :D
OMG
Avrada cadabra
That have used a real hall class why not make it run like its surpost to and if its ticket has run out give it an overhaul
GWR23 Studios It's a theme park. With the right artistry, trickery, and magic, a themed monorail with great animated sequences, real steam effects, and a functioning whistle is all you need to make you feel like you're there in the story.
I can't imagine the NRM handing the locomotive over for such purposes. Even though the lack of convincing steam is dissapointing, I'm rather glad she didn't end up at Universal Studios.
***** It's enough to please the kids at least.
lol they couldn't even put a real steam engine for this attraction? Cmon, real steam engines are soooooooooooooooooooooo cool
There are stupid people who talk about pollution but don't know they probably came to america by steam ship
well i would sugest going to scotland where theres a train that does the proper jouney. and runs on steam. also fire hazard/coals are getting rare/employees with proper training/polution so on and so forth all in all verry expensive
@@donaldschmenk4345 Having a steam engine on a ride that makes back and forth trips nearly 100 times a day would be a disaster for both safety, pollution, but most of all: maintenance. There would be so much maintenance required that it wouldn't even be worth it.
Not a real steam locomotive...
im so sad the usa took the train beacuse a.its a british locomotive and b.the films were made in the uk!!!!!!/the train
Hallo, ich
If that’s the real locomotive it should not be there
It's not a real train, it's a replicated stream engine (it's actually a furniculer)
YooGamer ok good
.
The train scenes were the only good parts of the whole freakin series.
So it's all video displays? That looks very boring... and cheap.
In America traveling by rail has been killed by republican politics, so you have to travel to universal studios to see what it's like to ride on a train...
nice experience..but on this video he or she couldn't show it well... 👎👎👎
Acctuly this is not a real steam engine
The hogwarts express as turn into a diesel
Motor train by the evil universial studio
Poor hogwarts express 😭😭😭😭
It's not diesel, it's not steam or electric, it's run by cables
