I started on 2.5mg of Mounjaro about a month and a half ago and went to 5 a couple weeks ago. What I learned about myself is I didn't just have a food addiction, I specifically had a carbohydrate addiction. Carbs make you want to eat more carbs, whereas dietary fat is the natural trigger of endogenous satiety hormones like the ones Mounjaro emulates, GLP1 and GIP. I went to pretty much the extreme in cutting the carbs, which basically meant a carnivore diet of just steaks, pork, chicken, eggs, and fish, and once or twice a month some beef liver for the amazing micronutrient profile. Mounjaro brought my hunger down to about 20% and going carnivore brought it down to almost nothing. I eat one meal a day now and I'm never hungry. And that meaty meal is high in protein which is preventative of muscle mass reduction during rapid weight loss, which can be a huge problem on GLP1 and GIP receptor agonists like Mounjaro(this is also why I recommend more strength training vs cardio at perhaps a 2:1 ratio while on your way down to your goal weight). After 3 days of eating this way my metabolism switched from feeding my cells with glucose, to feeding my cells with fat, which accelerates my progress, cleared my brain fog since brains run better on 2/3 ketones 1/3 glucose than they do on 100% glucose, and my blood sugar and insulin never spike because I'm not feeding my metabolism all the sugar and starchy carb filled plant matter. That means my serum glucose stays pretty much at 70 all the time and I don't get those massive drops in glucose that cause ravenous cravings. I highly recommend it. Good luck, you are doing great, and I hugely respect your openness and honesty about your journey. Thank you.

thank you for your comment. I plan on doing a low carb high protein diet with weight lifting, I heard that losing muscle mass is a potential problem while taking mounjaro. I took my first injection today.

Your original video and this one are SO helpful! I really appreciate your honesty and also your realistic expectations around how this is a tool to help you, not a magic pill solution. I’m starting Ozempic next week and have been very nervous because I’ve never been on a medication long term so side effects scare me.
But kind of like you, I was at my heaviest during Covid (260), dropped down to 230 on my own through diet and exercise but my a1c has continued to be a problem even after 2 years of maintaining my diet and exercise regime (I keep my meals to 30 net carbs or less and do 6 miles of cardio 6 days a week).
When I was originally diagnosed with T2 my a1c was 9.5, then after my natural lifestyle changes and weight loss it dropped to 5.7 (we think due to the shock of weight loss over a short period of time), but then 6 months later it was back up to 6.1, then 6.3, and most recently 6.5.
So here we’ve come to trying Ozempic for the a1c help. And based on your experience and many others it does almost seem like a miracle for helping normalize glucose levels if you’re living a healthy lifestyle!
Congrats on your journey and please do keep us updated! I’m excited and hopeful to start my own.

Just took my first injection today. Current weight is 335, t2 diabetic with A1C of 12. Heres to an exciting journey. Goal is to get off the metformin and rid of diabetes. Weight loss will just be a bonus. Great videos.

Thanks for the info Mike- In my original research of GLP1 agonists and whether or not I wanted to use them, your videos were some of the first ones I came across. Very helpful!

Congratulations to you! I've been on Mounjaro for about the same amount of time as you. It's been mostly good for me. I've lost weight, but also am not at goal yet. I need to bump up my exercise again.
My one "ugh" on this is it makes me fairly constipated. I've worked around it, but I'd rather not have it.
The depression is real for you and a lot of us, too. I hope you continue to improve and rock on. Say hello to Tom Servo for me.

I can't imagine staying on this for life. Please keep us posted when you do decide to come off of it, or your journey as you continue using it. Wishing you well. You are the proverbial canary in a coal mine, along with many others, that show us how it is to get off it, or, if you choose not to, its long-term effects on the human body as it changes how we digest food. However, as long as humans around the world continue to eat processed foods (and to much sugar) and suffer from the addictive nature of that food, we will be victims of the pharmaceutical industry forever, which is what they want. They got us, the 1% will forever stay the 1% and no one will be the wiser.

Thanks for the updates! The toe pain sounds very familiar. I had gout a couple times and it felt like someone had dropped a house block on the first joint of my big toe on one foot... OUCH! Anyway, maybe something to look into. HANG IN THERE!!

I started watching the first video then seen the link to this update. Im type 2 so its good to hear your views on it and congratulations on the weight loss but a few things I need to ask...
You mention cardio but no strength training? Are you not doing weights? If not why?
I'm asking because alot of research on these drugs is the fact many people are ending up skinny fat bwcause theyre not lifting weights or getting in enough protein and its important people strength train on these drugs and get enough protein in because alot od people whove stopped regained the weight and then some with far less muscle mass. Strength training is a must.
Are you taking Metformin along side it? Research says type 2 diabetics loat 15% body weight compared to 21% non diabetic. Adding Metformin seen it junp to 21% from 15% for type 2 diabetes patients.
I think alot of people are not utilising this peptide the way they should be. Alot of people are ending up malnourished and not changing tbe foods they eat to make a proper lifesfyle change. Going Keto on this medication will make it easier and keto in high protein would yeild amazing results and reset the bodys eating habits as you lose cravings for junk. Junk food lowers leptin, increases ghrelin and makes you more hungry. It takes 12-14 days to switch the body back.
All the best with the rest of your journey.

Just a month into the journey, I am inspired by your efforts. I have cerebral palsy, so many of the physical stuff is not really workable for me. I hope to lose some more weight also. I want to lose more pounds so I can actually live longer and happier.

Thank you for your video! My starting weight 7/7/24 was 463, current weight 442. I just started my 5mg yesterday. My A1C is 8.9 right now🙁. But it I have already had to reduce the amount of insulin I take! 😀. I pay $263 a month.
My doctor did not mention any sort of diet plan. I keep a log of my food intake on an app called Lose It. I eat between 1300 and 1900 calories a day without even trying to restrict. I eat breakfast around 7am and dinner at 6:30pm with only water in between. But that is my normal routine anyway. I craft or play games on my tablet all day and never feel hungry.
I’m hoping it will control my A1C better because when my sugar is in check losing weight is so much easier.

Glad this is working for you Mike, and I think it's fantastic that you're out biking and improving your cardio vascular health.
I do hope that you're able to quit Mounjaro in the near future and move onto more natural methods long term, as such drugs are rarely good for one in the long run.
Good luck with the clean, healthful eating and exercise - probably the best two things a person can do; keep us updated on your journey!
