- For rust and patina effects, browns as well as certain shades of blue and green are used. I would like to show you how you can also create rust and patina effects with the wonderful squeegee technique. At the end of the painting I realise that it could also be an abstract underwater landscape.
When painting abstract acrylics with the squeegee tool, I think about how I can create and apply layers of colour in an interesting way. I paint in my own style the squeegee technique made popular by Gerhard Richter. He is one of the greatest German artists for me. In contrast to his large paintings and self-made large squeegee tools, my canvas is naturally small. I hope you have fun discovering the squeegee technique! Bei diesem hier hatte ich jetzt das erste Mal den Eindruck, dass ein glänzender Firnis darauf sollte, weil dann die Wasserspiegelungen in der Mitte des Bildes mehr zur Geltung kommen und noch mehr als solche erkennbar sind.

Liebe Helga, herzlichen für Deinen lieben Kommentar! Ich bin sonst sehr für glänzende Dinge, und setze Firnis manchmal als Effekt auf einer Leinwand ein. Nur eins kann ich mir tatsächlich nicht vorstellen: Glänzende Firnis komplett auf einer Leinwand 😅. Schon merkwürdig, aber ich liebe es, die natürlichen Farben auf der Leinwand zu sehen, die auch unterschiedlich glänzend auftrocknen. Liebe Grüße zurück, Inga 🌸🧡🌸

Nein, nicht jede Schicht muss trocknen, ich male/rakel die nächste Farbschicht normalerweise direkt über die vorherige. Ab und an föhne ich auch, wenn ich nicht möchte, dass alles in einem „grün-grau-braun“ endet. LG, Inga

Thank you! Yes, the German word for the technique is „Rakeltechnik“. And translated in English it is „squeegee technique“, so that’s a bit confusing, because I use several tools as a „Rakel“ and that’s „squeegee“, but it isn‘t… 🙈😂🤷🏻♀️ I‘m sorry about that. The German artist Gerhard Richter is quite famous for this kind of art. 🌸🎨🙋🏻♀️

Thank you so much, Zarah! Yes, oil paint could be used, I know that, because Gerhard Richter uses oil paint. No, I don‘t varnish it, because I don‘t like that. And the amount of layers… that’s depending on the „look“… and what you feel.
I don‘t know how oil paint behave, so maybe your normal colour shades will work for you. 🌸🎨🙋🏻♀️

When I myself took art courses on abstract painting, everyone developed pictures for themselves and was creative in their own way. There were no guidelines in this sense.

Sí, es correcto. Lamentablemente se trata de un error de traducción del inglés. Esta noche, 19:45 (CET) hay un nuevo video en el que trabajo exclusivamente con una rasqueta y no con una llana. La palabra "raclette" viene del francés, pero en inglés desgraciadamente se convierte en "squeegee", y no es lo mismo. Lo siento mucho.
Hallo Inga, ich habe ein Problem...Wen ich die Sichten eintrage ... mein Werkzeug klebt an die Farbe und lässt sich sehr schwer gleiten
..Sind meine Farben zu dickflüssig ?
Hallo Anna, eventuell ist es dann zu viel Farbe - sowohl auf dem Werkzeug als auch auf der Leinwand. Versuche doch mal, dein Werkzeug nicht ganz aufzusetzen sondern leicht schräg. Dann hast du weniger Fläche, die miteinander „klebt“.
