this brought back memories of a tape recorder / player my sisters and I had as children. Made for kids (i think) our of brown plastic with a carry handle. We would use it to record radio plays and stories and to listen to our mums cassettes
I have a large collection of old cameras and computers and I am also of the opinion that "they shall be used". I do have cameras that are more delicate and need careful care but they too get used. My oldest is an Agfa Billy 1 (pre-war, not the 50's post war one) made around 1929. My most valuable and most carefully handled camera is my late Granddads Nikon F, made in the 60's. My dad has my Granddads Leica iiig, which is older than the Nikon and possibly a little more valuable. I'm intending on giving the Leica a spin soon, its been on a shelf for a good few years. I dont know if you have any experience with photography but if you do and have access to an old camera I'd certainly like to see it! I quite like your Hotpoint washing machine video and anything that runs off paraffin. Thanks to you I know know that strange brass thing in the antique shop is in fact a paraffin blow torch. I sometimes get a bit annoyed when I see those that were "modified" to be electric lamps lol. I dont have much use for a blow torch being in a town house, I dont see myself needing to weld anything in the garden. Might raise an eyebrow with the neighbours but I have been interested in getting a paraffin stove, to use when camping or to cook some spam when out walking in winter. Oh and R2D2 probably just needs a new belt in the tape mechanism, his original one will have turned oblong over the years and will be the main cause of his strange issues when playing tapes. Just like rubber seals for the pump in a paraffin stove, its amazing what you can easily get off ebay.
Hello, very interesting about the cameras, I do have some old ones around I should put on my list of things to film. I did cross my mind about a new band, however the sound quality of its single tiny speaker will remain the same Thanks for watching
