Not a fan of these type of dances…. Just seeing sneakers with Onam saree is cringe!!! 😖. Such disrespect to our tradition.. Do it as a separate dance.. don’t mess with the purity of traditional dance.. :/
Edit: so I left India 30 years ago, and living in US. I recently visited Kerala for a relative’s wedding and now this dance is starting to make sense! This is not the same Kerala from 30 years ago! Traditions have changed, people’s outlook, perspective, everything.. While most of it is for the best, unfortunately, little by little we are losing our values, traditions, culture which the foreigners seem to admire and visit Kerala for just that.. we can be modern and still hold on to the values.. can’t we? That would be nice!
