The over-decorated streets of Europe's largest city show few signs of life. There are no crowds despite the warm temperatures. The holiday-trimmed shops are open and brightly lit - but where are the shoppers? In video after video, Russian cityscapes depict a 2023 holiday season of economic caution and - most likely - unseen hardship. It's all so sad and unnecessary. The Russian people deserve better.

Sure.Well come to New York. The streets meant for cars? The lane closest to the curb- BIKES ONLY. Then the next 2? BUS LANES ONLY. Then on some avenues the next lane they use it for potted shrubbery. Then FINALLY 2 car lanes and you have more UBER/LYFT drivers than private drivers who cut you off at every turn because they brought their "bad habits" from the countries they came from as well as those "Ric-shaw" tricycles who zig zag all around traffic carrying passengers not caring if they cause an accident. ALL of them with low-paying jobs. Whose going to provide these people who barely speak English and have little skills when "Ride Share" companies dump them for A.I. vehicles? Phoenix Arizona have A.I. taxis ONLY.
Oh yes then we have the "homeless" and " beggers" on every street looking at you suspiciously. If they're not holding a cup for a handout, they're scoping you as a target.
Amd lets not forget the foreign "peddlers selling fake blackmarket handbags,wallets,watches.
In our big cities we're surrounded by people who immigrated less than 5 years ago and THATS what you'll find.
Here I see "CLEAN" STREETS, no overflowing garbage cans, Christmas streets in front of stores with ornaments hung on trees which would quickly be stolen/vandalized on New York City where I grew up.
CLEARLY municipal politicians/governments should LEARN SOMETHING from the likes of Moscow.
