This episode is called "The Red Nosed Reindeer" because Kirito, being labeled a 'Beater', was kind of ostracized by the other players (ie Reindeer) who didn't really want him around. But, Sachi sings the Rudolph song to him at the end because she kinda understands he wanted to be a part of a group and join in the 'reindeer games'. It was her way of forgiving him.
The level of the monsters are not affected by kiritos level. The monsters were at a higher level than the guild members but kirito was at a higher level than the monsters. Hence, he could beat the monsters easily but the guild members died after a single blow.
if he was honest they wouldn't rely on his power thinking they could be that strong at that level they might keep up playing it safe even more knowing he is basically their guardian if they were smart about it and imagined a trap like that or any scenario where it's them without kirito able to guard them all

Just to clear one thing up since the anime wont touch it again the monsters in the room didnt lvl sync to kirito there was simply to many for them to handle since they all decided to go to a high lvl dungeon instead of staying on the lower lvls like they have been an the reason we kno this is if the monsters were lvl syncing to kirito the whole time they would have been fighting monsters on kiritos lvl an would have died long before this what actually happen is they never ran into a trap room like that before so they weren't aware that could happen hence why when they saw the chest all of them ran to it besides kirito because unlike the rest of the guild he has ran into trap rooms on high lvl dungeons so he was being cautious of it witch is why he blames himself because if he would have told them his lvl he could have shared the info of these trap rooms with them but at the same time they were being fools an didnt think that a chest out in the open like that could be a trap so it's not all his fault granted he did have a hand in it but still anyways just wanted to clear that part up for ya if I'm wrong someone correct me tho that's just how I interpreted that part of the episode
As a gamer, I can say that in any game you can go far alone but you will reach a top, but when you have people to play with, maybe a friend, a guild, for some youtuber or streamers it would be their subscribers. The point is you can sell your soul in order to go far on your own, but it's always better to have someone by your side
In the light novel they explain it just as she says. The enemies round up to the highest lvl member of the group. That's why he's so guilty, otherwise he would only feel guilty for what? Not telling them that was a trap? He didn't even know there was a trap there since it was an undiscovered one, he just suspected it, nothing to go suicidal into an event boss.
Actually, the reason he felt guilty about hiding his level is because his teammates might have taken him more seriously if they knew how strong he was (and how experienced). They would have been more cautious when he told them to wait but he pretended he didn't know much more than them.
That never really says it in the show but the reason he joined the black cats and not The samurai's is because he related more with the black cats than he did with them

When it comparing to Kirito & Naruto, even if I was watching both anime at the same time, I can still see them differently. When it comes to Naruto, from the first episode you learn about his backstory & despite having a rebel attitude, you feel sorry for him because of his past but later on Naruto starts to be acting more mature & starts taking things more seriously where as Kirito, at first he may not seem much, but I feel like later on he (maybe) starts to become more likeable in a way. Also seeing this has reminded me that I need to catch up + finish up the first arc of Alicization before the second arc starts.
They were in a higher level area that's why the enemies were a little bit stronger than his guildmates. And considering the amount of enemies and their level, only Kirito was capable of defeating and stay alive in the trap. They also need to defeat all the enemies to leave the trap so, yeah, they f up 😅
They did not match him when they went into the room. They just went to a higher floor then they could deal with and kirito thought that because of how strong he was it wouldn't matter what they went up against because the enemies would be so weak he could one shot them regardless. If those mobs matched kiritos level he would not have been able to get out of that room alive and certainly would not have been able to one-shot them.

In any game that has no restart button it's best to be strong for many reasons for instance not only u have to worry about the AI that will attack u and traps but mostly if the game has PvP option to it for then other players can also be a high risk to personal survival as well just like any other online game with those risks.. No, the enemies didn’t level up to his level, he felt bad because to get to the level he was at he’d already dealt with things like that and if he wouldn’t have hid his level so that he could fit in he could’ve warned them about why it was a bad idea, but y’know he’s a teenager and he wanted friends and all that fun stuff so...
If you like the concept of being trapped in a game and want something that delves far deeper into what that would be like than this, I'd recommend Log Horizon. It's the best show of this nature I've seen.

There are games that use similar combat systems, except the area/dungeon usually adapts/match the lowest level player.

as far as i remember he started to play solo cause some quests are limited. so in order for him to progress as fast as possible he plays solo

Haven't watched the vid yet I've just seen the episode before and I'm almost scared to see how Suzy will react to the episodes ending. Oh well here goes nothing, to Suzy don't worry things get better.
Just to clear one thing up since the anime wont touch it again the monsters in the room didnt lvl sync to kirito there was simply to many for them to handle since they all decided to go to a high lvl dungeon instead of staying on the lower lvls like they have been an the reason we kno this is if the monsters were lvl syncing to kirito the whole time they would have been fighting monsters on kiritos lvl an would have died long before this what actually happen is they never ran into a trap room like that before so they weren't aware that could happen hence why when they saw the chest all of them ran to it besides kirito because unlike the rest of the guild he has ran into trap rooms on high lvl dungeons so he was being cautious of it witch is why he blames himself because if he would have told them his lvl he could have shared the info of these trap rooms with them but at the same time they were being fools an didnt think that a chest out in the open like that could be a trap so it's not all his fault granted he did have a hand in it but still anyways just wanted to clear that part up for ya if I'm wrong someone correct me tho that's just how I interpreted that part of the episode
As a gamer, I can say that in any game you can go far alone but you will reach a top, but when you have people to play with, maybe a friend, a guild, for some youtuber or streamers it would be their subscribers.
The point is you can sell your soul in order to go far on your own, but it's always better to have someone by your side

In the light novel they explain it just as she says. The enemies round up to the highest lvl member of the group. That's why he's so guilty, otherwise he would only feel guilty for what? Not telling them that was a trap? He didn't even know there was a trap there since it was an undiscovered one, he just suspected it, nothing to go suicidal into an event boss.
Actually, the reason he felt guilty about hiding his level is because his teammates might have taken him more seriously if they knew how strong he was (and how experienced). They would have been more cautious when he told them to wait but he pretended he didn't know much more than them.
So he's just an asshole. Nice.

Most anime series have either a badass opening theme, a badass end theme, or both. I wish other shows would take cues from these anime.

I don't think monsters match his level in this episode. I think if he reveled his level sooner, they might actually take his advice to stay on the easier floors.
insanekyo or probably just as likely since they are with a high level player they’d take much more risk than they should because in the back of their heads they are like “it’s okay we’ve got Kirito with us so we don’t need to worry even though these monsters are ten levels above us because kirito is ten levels above these monsters” or something like that
The level thing is true, it just isn't explained in the anime according to some other LN commenters, that's the main reason why he feels so guilty about it.

About his level. They were relaxed in fight. He dealt most damage to strong opponents and they thought they are strong. But with so big bunch of enemies he was unable to take them all out in time.
He plays solo so that he can protect all the other beta testers from being hated.. basically he takes all the hate to protect everyone else.

Yup, pretty much why SAO is sitll in the memory, was one of the first modern isekai anime, however, is one of the least intense of all of them. Check Overlord or Log Horizon for way more intense one (I personally preffer Overlord). Or Konosuba, for a comedy oriented one... Suggestions for the future, if you wish :3

Kirito's Not Lame It's Just The Dubbed Version Not Doing It Much Justice
When it comparing to Kirito & Naruto, even if I was watching both anime at the same time, I can still see them differently. When it comes to Naruto, from the first episode you learn about his backstory & despite having a rebel attitude, you feel sorry for him because of his past but later on Naruto starts to be acting more mature & starts taking things more seriously where as Kirito, at first he may not seem much, but I feel like later on he (maybe) starts to become more likeable in a way. Also seeing this has reminded me that I need to catch up + finish up the first arc of Alicization before the second arc starts.

They were in a higher level area that's why the enemies were a little bit stronger than his guildmates. And considering the amount of enemies and their level, only Kirito was capable of defeating and stay alive in the trap. They also need to defeat all the enemies to leave the trap so, yeah, they f up 😅
They did not match him when they went into the room. They just went to a higher floor then they could deal with and kirito thought that because of how strong he was it wouldn't matter what they went up against because the enemies would be so weak he could one shot them regardless. If those mobs matched kiritos level he would not have been able to get out of that room alive and certainly would not have been able to one-shot them.

In any game that has no restart button it's best to be strong for many reasons for instance not only u have to worry about the AI that will attack u and traps but mostly if the game has PvP option to it for then other players can also be a high risk to personal survival as well just like any other online game with those risks..
Sadly ur right Suzy Lu as Kirito does blame himself for that reason, this episode really shapes Kirito towards being stronger..

The manga/light novel explanation of the rook I'd that if they knew his level then they would have listened to him telling them not to enter. The monsters would have been the same level no matter what level the party members were.

No, the enemies didn’t level up to his level, he felt bad because to get to the level he was at he’d already dealt with things like that and if he wouldn’t have hid his level so that he could fit in he could’ve warned them about why it was a bad idea, but y’know he’s a teenager and he wanted friends and all that fun stuff so...
If you like the concept of being trapped in a game and want something that delves far deeper into what that would be like than this, I'd recommend Log Horizon. It's the best show of this nature I've seen.
He just lied because he didn't wanted them to know how skilled he is, the enemies were low levels too for him, but too many. It was simply just a death trap. He was just afraid they won't hang out with a higher level player.
Dude I remember I watched this when I was 6 and this episode gave me nightmares, from 5e red nosed reindeer, I look back at it now and like, wtf how was I scared of this 😂
