Will make you a fine spreader. Rebuilt/salvaged an electric model "cyclone" couple of years ago, found that spare parts sure increases courage during the disassembly stage.
@DuchesnesCorner the part that is in the middle of the basin that holds the agitator on. I removed the roll pin on mine and heated the entrainer but it's frozen on mine. I think in the video you mentioned at 5 min 29 seconds. Aluminum and steel are working against me on mine 😅
@TarMan1027 Ah yes. Ya the pit aluminum and the metal shaft do not like each other..bad combo. I used a small prybar ans penatrant to get it to move. A pickling fork would be a better idea.
This brand... It's just 3 carage bolts and it comes right off. The hole in the bottom is big enough for the aluminum thimble to go through. But if you have the agitator, it needs to cone out first.
Almost all just slide through the aluminum thimble and either a nut or cotter pin holding it in. Unfortunately, the aluminum "pot metal" the thimble is made of rusts excessively due to the fertilizers. You will probably need to get down in there and grind the nut or the pins out. If you are real lucky, you can get a long punch and knock the split pins out that hold the aluminum thimble to the steel gearbox drive shaft.
Unfortunately, you just gotta beat them open. Most important thing is to keep them washed out (once they are moving). Fertilizer is brutal on these things, and even some seeds are coated with fertilizer and corrode these things.
Greetings. Do you have a manual or cheat sheet that explains how to adjust flow per the chart on the hopper? I bought mine used w no manual and am not sure how to adjust the stops.
Hey Dave! If you google "Cosmo spreader chart" There are lots of images that show the hole relation spacing on the lock pin to the speed and type of product you are spreading. These spreaders are a bit crude so there is lots of room for variation, but they do work very well.

Yes, knowing that I can still get parts makes me push things a little harder in the press... lol
Where can I get blades for my spreader from
@henrybarnett364 you can get parts at mticanada
How did you get the entrainer off?
Entrainer?

@@DuchesnesCorner I appreciate it, I will give that a try
By any chance do you have any videos on how to remove the hopper from the body? I have one I'm starting restoration on this week

@DuchesnesCorner ah ok mine has the lower agitator and I can't figure out how to remove it and don't want to risk breaking it 🤣

The round plates in the bottom of the hopper that open to let the seeds drop are rusted together on mine. Any suggestions?

Good
