- Rating - 9/10 - Another gripping episode! We were introduced to the Prophet of the lord, Chuck. He looks like a typical burn out writer, yet he has a huge purpose...will he share his knowledge with the boys and go against the angel Zachariah? Or will he shy away & respect Zach's advice? I kinda hope he spills the beans & gives the boys a lil heads up but i'll have to wait & see. I'm so intrigued as to what he saw in that last dream?!! Hope next ep they delve more into that. Dean is still set on protecting Sam & avoiding conflict with Lilith until he feels they're more prepared but sam is on a mission!! There's no changing his mind! It's making me nervous how determined he is. We were also introduced to the idea of a stronger angel, the Arc(?) Angels. I was so happy when Cas gave that cheeky tip to Dean, god bless. He's continuing his support & edging closer and closer away from his loyalties with God.

There are 4 archangels in religious lore: Michael, Lucifer, Rafael and Gabriel. In fact, in 4x10 there's an implication that they're the angels that anna said are the only 4 angels who've seen god
"The four beasts who stand in the presence" ...but that doesn't mean they've actually "seen" god...in lore the archangels have multiple sets of wings that they use to shroud themselves from actually seeing gods true unfathomable form.
If I remember correctly there's a story where god mocks Lucifer's pride and challenges him look upon him in all his power and glory...and Lucy shits himself.
Personally I was hoping for a twist revelation...where they learn that truth is there is no god in the supernatural universe and that the "angels" are just as lost and confused as humans...ya know where it's all a big conspiracy or fairytale made up to impose some order and control over a chaotic universe and give powerful immortal beings (angels) a purpose...ya know where Lucifer got cast out by Michael and the other archangels because he wouldn't go along with the deception any longer, he could've still been the archetypal vengeful apocalypse bringing BIG bad who hates humanity and wants to wipe out "the hairless apes" as he puts it but he could have had more complicated and justifiable motivations...and way more depth.
Also in religious lore lucifer wasn't the only angel who rebelled...demons were angels, they were never human, the lost and damned souls of sinners are supposed to be more kindling for the fire and or toys for them to play with for eternity...also if hell truly was a place of exile or a metaphorical prison why would "god" let the inmates run the asylum?...so to speak
If there was a hell and if it was actually anything like it's described in popular lore...then surely there would be a "WARDEN!" and guards...Ya know the physical personifications of gods unending and relentless wrath, someone or something to guard the gates for all time...now that's an interesting idea for a character.
Lucifer was NEVER considered an Archangel in any biblical lore. There are 7 archangels. Uriel is widely known as an archangel, but the show depicted him as a regular angel. Lucifer was a Cherub.

Only three are ever stated to be Archangels in the bible: Michael, Gabriel and Raphael.
Lucifer is never refered to as more than "a son of God" which is a term for angel

The whole there are 7 archangels thing comes from a single phrase spoken by Raphael "I am Raphael, one of the seven angels who stand and serve before the glory of the lord". Some denominations have taken that to mean that there are 7 archangels, but it is never stated, and only Michael is ever outright stated as being an archangel - Gabriel and Raphael have been assumed to be archangels due to the way they are refered to, but only Michael is ever actually stated to be an archangel

One of THE ICONIC episode if SPN! This episode just SUPERB! im thankful that jayne tried to put most of the good stuff in but this episode had everything, self references, humour, plot, character development, hidden easter eggs, room to explore for further arcs and more.
im not a christian but SPN using the lore and believe of christianity is just amazing, angels, prophets, devil, demons and more. What an episode, still one of my favorites.
This episode is so META, still one of my fav ones. The first time I watched it, I simply couldn't believe it hahaha
Such a huge episode. It's tentacles reach all the way to season 11. At this point Castiel is such a confusing character. Friend or foe? He could easily go in either direction. Do what you think is right or do what you're told is right? As for Chuck.....

Dakara is definitely one of the best reaction video you tubers. She talks during the show but only here and there and she saves her in depth thoughts until the episode is done. She also has a cool personality that makes for good reactions. She’s also really cute, but that doesn’t add to her appeal at all, 😉

what a treat to start the week... one of the most creative, well written and fun eps of the series for me, the mega meta ep that gave sooo many nods to the fans and the show overall at the time, with the lines that: There are fans, but not that many, the Sam girls Dean girls and the disturbing "slash fans"... lol, and love the ping on the show itself on how the "Bugs: episode was not a great one.... lol soooo many good bits in this ep (sadly not seen, like: the laundromat scene with Sam's pensive shoulders, Dean and the kids band aid, and Baby being driven "with a tarp flapping like the wings of a crow" while a crow sound effect plays in the background.... but perhaps this was to minimize the chance of blockage strikes.... understandable) good fun stuff Dakara, and a CTU for you! keep em coming!

One of the best episodes of one of the best shows ever! All the characters are so well written and acted throughout. Very easy to watch over and over again, like TVD & The Originals. Looking forward to The French Mistake, that is another one of my all time favorites of this show. Loving the reactions, you are too awesome! Have a good one!

To answer your question, this isn't a spoiler, Castiel is a seraph. They are powerful angels but Archangels are the most powerful of the angels.
You could research the celestial (i don't know how to call it in English) on the internet avoiding all the Supernatural (the tv series) references because it's settled by christian faith.

I'm glad someone else doesn't like the "Wincest" fandom. They're brothers who grew up in battle together. It's an indescribable bond that is not romantic but a relationship that only brothers in arms can have.
I feel the same about "Destiel" and see their friendship and bond as a more "brothers in the same foxhole" must like the officers in End of Watch.

It’s change in roles, Sam is up on his high horse because he’s drinking demon blood that’s he’s addicted to and a demon who strokes his ego every chance she gets, this Sam being an egotistical manic thinking he can take on Lilith so easily

I find it interesting that cas' actions are the ones that change prophecies like in this episode and in the finale of season 4 where cas disobays heaven and sides with dean, chucks tells cas and dean you're not even in this story and cas says we're making it up as we go, like cas is always the unpredictable one, the loose thread, the rebel, forever the renegade 💓 I love our rebellious angel 💓💓.
Loved the video Dakara, you are great! So, we know for a fact that Sam is immune to Lillith's power from when she tried to kill him in the final scene of the third season. Will Sam be the only one who is able to kill her? Is the final seal Sam and Dean dying and Lillith is tricking them into it? Or maybe Lillith's death by Sam's hand is the final seal? A whole lot to proccess, but we will see what is what very soon.
