Momota has had a remarkable career. His capacity to rise, fall and rise again were extraordinary but this must also have taken its toll on him. He is, and will remain, one of the greats of the sport. At one point he was just unplayable and we should celebrate that he leaves behind competitive play while he has his energy and health. Now, as a coach and mentor, he continues to positively influence the sport.

I think that we fans, at times, don't realize the effort and sacrifice athletes endure and their expectations they put on themselves. Then, one day, decisions must be made on moving forward after their body can no longer perform at their best . I hope Kento continues as an ambassador to the sport and inspires future generations of Badminton Players around the world with his inspiring story.
I wish he could now train and coach future talented players in Japan. I think he’ll be a good coach ngl, smart player and skill shown in the court is amazing.
I think the benf from bwf also made a pretty detailed video about Chen Long. Right now, I'm more focused on making videos about the Olympics, so stay tuned!
I literally got twice - thrice goosebumps each minutes of the video i.e around 16-45 or 48 time while watching the vid!! This video is more than a farewell.. it's a documentary on a living legend! Its a short movie on a living legend! Both Momota and this video replicates the literal meaning of a king without crown 💔 If this players is legend so this video also! I enjoyed, i cried, I am happy I am sad, this video gave me multiple emotions during this 16:40 duration.. Love u Momota 🫶 you and your achievements, will always be remembered in the history of badminton and the beautiful mark which you left in this game! Happy retirement legend🫶❤️
hello channel. A while ago I watched a clip on your channel, summarizing the situations. I remember in there a paragraph about Yamaguchi and Okuhara. Now I look again and can't find it. I wonder if your channel still has this clip? Thank.
@@ThisIsBadminton I honestly don't remember clearly, I just remember it was a clip summarizing situations with music included. including Yamaguchi's excellent rescue situation with Okuhara. Now I look again and see it's gone
Thank you so much for making these videos. Kento is the one who brought me to badminton, I really admire not only his talent, but also his will to never give up, and to enjoy badminton as it is. がんばってね!
The only badmintion video that made to 😢. Never dreamed of this kind of tragical end might happen to my hero Momota ❤😢. But still he ll shine as ⭐ Coach Momota. Hope to see him in his national matches. Lots of ❤ 🇮🇳.
Thank you so much for making this video. This is the only video about (paying tribute to) Momota retirement that makes me cry! Thank you Momota for your contribution and inspiration for badminton fans!
Momota is like a bright light on the world badminton map. After the recent Thomas Cup 2024, I think Japanese men's singles badminton will not be able to fly higher in the future. Momota is the only peak that Japan can reach own.
My reluctant goodbye to the player whom i hold deepest respect for his tenacity, talent and humbleness... One who embodies these attributes are far and few in between. I have watched numerous of his long rallies n rubber matches, he had the ability to overcome all odds. What a pity and still find it hard to accept.his retirement in this manner...
Uff, big goosebumps, very well made video for a well deserving athlete, nice job! Hopefully life has withheld more luck for him than it has given him so far, he absolute has earned it the hard way!
Make sure you watched the previous episode: The Complete Story of Kento Momota's Career

This is how far one can go without luck. You may be the most talented and equally hardworking, but you won't last long without luck on your side😢
Unluckiest player of all time. The only luck he got was thankfully surviving that traffic accident.

And in this 10 years career, Momota only played Olympics once. 😢
He was a wonder kid of Japan.

Well said
Kento Momota's journey is an example of a real-life anime story.
Definitely in the same tiers as LD, and LCW
I think the top tier will be 3 ppl, they're Lin Dan, Taufik Hidayat, and Kento Momota. 2nd tier will be LCW, Chen Long
@@NP-ChannelTaufik definetly not in the same table with Lin dan, just look at their title 😂
After lcw retire kenton momota become the number one in rankings 😊
英語わからないのに泣いた
Kento is a legendary player, he remains in the badminton books forever ❤ 🥲
His performance this year was amazing i thought he might be able to reclaim world champion title. Suddenly he retired 😢
Thanks you t make a vidéo on Kento 🇯🇵👑
didn't this made us cry?❤️

he has already begun coaching yushi tanaka, who is very good and upcoming.
i wish momota watches this fantastic video
2024 is not his peak but every he played is breathtaking.
How fitting that his final match was against Malaysia (the team that he encountered in the final of the 2014 Thomas cup)
Hi it's me again can i request chen long tribute video?

best badminton channel ever❤❤❤
Thanks! I'm flattered
All best wishes for your retirement Momota-san ❤ from Indonesia. You will always remembered one of the World Badminton Legend.

To me and for most Kento is up there with the best.
He is, he bet all the greats so casually and barely using fulll smashes his confidence was so full.

He might be back like same as LCW after his ban
Was there proof that the “accident” wasn’t organized by the Danes? I’ve heard accusations, but don’t know if it is warranted.
Are you kidding me? 😂
