Based on the junk yard numbers painted on the transmission below the engine mount, someone replaced some parts before and they did not replace the missing bolts.
Got the feeling someone tried to repair it them selves and when they saw that the engine needed to be supported they hastily reinstalled the mount and covered it back up. Feel like someone got scared because they thought they were in over their heads.
Lol basic tools like an extra jack and jackstands, ratchet straps and chains can help a long way! Changed an automatic transmission in an Acura 01 tl by dropping the front subframe, We did get the job done with pretty basic tools other than the axle nut socket, ball joint puller, impact gun and torque wrench at home. Funny thing was i took it to the shop for the oil change because i already had old coolant and transmission fluid in containers at home i had to get rid of - The shop said the car was in tip top shape and someone just replaced the transmission, axles and several other parts 😂😭 i was like yessir that would be me
So sad, I really wanted to watch the seat repair of those cut wires. To bad the customer turn that down. :( But this and the other video on this Flex was great.
I did all 3 mounts on the 2009 Flex Limited I bought used, My battery tray was cracked so I had to do it also. An FYI for you, these with rear seat AC/Heater have a unbelievable hose nest on the firewall that has plastic tees in it that can disintegrate with no warning. A new one from Ford was only about $60 for the assembly (two tees and six hoses).
Ray, The missing bolts were probably removed from the FIRST opinion technician probably when the oil pan was replaced. I have partially disassemble cars to show the owner the defective parts and then was told It was too expensive to fix . So I replace the removed parts and sometimes never see the vehicle again. Great video .Common problem with seatbelt and airbag lights= headaches.

Maybe, but the damage from to the oil pan didn't happen from putting a jack on it. I am in the process of repairing a 2010 Peugeot that someone did repairs to before, the front had an obvious accident repair and had been put together out of alignment, the headlights had bolts missing and one was held in by a small gauge electrical wire, I had to remove the cat to repair an oil leak at the turbo and when removing the heat shields I found that only 3 of the 10 bolts holding them in were in place, one of the lower cat mounts is missing, the under body stone tray wasn't there, I have since obtained the parts to reassemble the car, some backyard mechanics should never attempt these repairs in the first place

My 2016 Flex has been mine and my families favorite vehicle that we've owned. It got totaled at 108k miles by a drunk driver while I was sitting at a red light. I drove it hard and the only problems it ever gave me was 1 battery replaced, and at 90k miles the alternator. It still had the original brake pads. The car was in excellent shape. The condition of the car in the video is just plain abuse. I'd actually bet it has been jumped more than once. Like it's been taken for more than a few joyrides by wreckless teenagers. Sad to see them get in this condition.

Two separate products...battery terminal cleaner and battery terminal protectant. You can buy them for a couple bucks each at any auto parts store. The cleaner I use actually turns red if it's sprayed on anything acidic so it makes ensuring you've cleaned everything really well easy

Between Rainman Ray, Vice Grip Garage, Mustie1, and Diesel Creek I've pretty much stopped watching cable TV.
You took the Flex out of the Flex!
Hey Ray, have you ever noticed that the abbreviations of the names you give to the battery (Electron Containment Module or Electron Containment Unit) are ECM or ECU? 😉
Thanks Ray another excellent service.
Love the logic and comedy
For my buddy and I what we do when we drop or something falls we yell plinko! If it goes all way down and hits the ground we cheer YAY! If it dont we wake the losing sound from the price is right followed by a head down and a soft but sad Damn! Lol
This guy has a nice sense of humor, a lot of patience, and is obviously intelligent and talented. Love watching him work and succeed!
I wonder if my local dealer watches Ray. They now clean & protect the battery connections.
I was hoping to see the driver door handle install .
I believe that was declined along with the passenger side airbag problem
@@markadams5429 In the first video, he said he got the handle.
@@aaronbritt2025 I think he said it was the broken handle, not a new handle. Guessing the owner either left it with the service advisor or brought it in.
@@aaronbritt2025 okay then, my bad
I was hoping to see that as well.. :-(
At 6:33 on Part #1, no bolts are on the front part of the air intake box.
As soon as you connected that ground, you can see the throttle body quiver a little
G'morning Ray, my morning coffee!
Yes agreed. Why would anyone put that mount back in unless owner didn't want to pay for new one
Greasy handprints on the drivers door RRREEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! lololol
Great job, Ray! I really like your approach and your ethic.
Yep, I saw that too. SIGH, but no one is perfect!
Looks like someone was doing some DIY on this car before it got parked for whatever reason, then ended up being sold.. The motor mount was probably put back in so it could be moved/parked and forgotten about.
Judging from the new oil pan and the detritus clinging to some of the undercarriage someone went off road and banged the crap out of it then did a half-assed repair.
14 year old family car, guessing it was turned over to a teenager within the last couple of years.
Thank you for your video very informative, all the best to you and your loved ones
Thanks very much for the 2.5 videos Ray, good too see you busy and working hard again after so many declines mate, totally enjoyed the action Keep Safe Keep Strong Mate🦘🦘🦘🦘🚗🚗
You are a fair dinkum cobber, mate 🙂
After replacing the Tie-Rods and or Steering components should you have a wheel alignment done?
Yes and then a lot of these TVs Network car shows they do all this work and they never say anything about it in alignment gee thanks guys it's all a piece of cake when you do it in a half hour
I make battery hold downs with old serpentine belts
I'm curious if you got the go-ahead to repair the wiring under the passenger seat?
Loud noises are always fun :p
I could say so much on the need more wood. I am a smartarse and you let it really open.
Good morning Ray
Man, I need to get that battery terminal cleaner that chucks up to the drill.
This was definitely a very interesting repair, as was the disk resurfacing. I don't recall a report on the wires under the passenger seat, I assume it was simply rectified. Once again Ask what is the two things you spray on battery connections, the cleaner and the protectant . Go ahead and answer out there if anyone else has these answers. Thanks and cheers!
Two separate products...battery terminal cleaner and battery terminal protectant. You can buy them for a couple bucks each at any auto parts store. The cleaner I use actually turns red if it's sprayed on anything acidic so it makes ensuring you've cleaned everything really well easy
How about a vid explaing the different types and uses of the ratchets that you use
