Sanjay Raut on remark over ATS chief's killing: Karkare, RSS were in struggle during 26/11 attack

- Controversy waded into controversy when Maharashtra's Opposition Leader, Vijay Namdevrao Wadettiwar, alleged that a police officer affiliated with the RSS, and not terrorist Ajmal Kasab, killed former ATS chief Hemant Karkare during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. On the reported statement of Congress leader, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said, "Hemant Karkare died fighting for the country when terrorists entered Mumbai. He was the ATS chief at that time. Vijay Wadettiwar did not say this for the first time. There was a struggle going on between RSS and Hemant Karkare. ATS had arrested two people, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur and Colonel Purohit, in connection with terrorist activities. Both were connected to RSS. I think this is the reason why this theory came up..."
