I see you play with your right hand on top, I play this way too on the tin whistle. Are flutes left or right handed, is the aperture shaped differently depending on this?
If I buy this flute, am I correct in understanding that I need to put "oil" into it as you did? What is the name of the oil I need to use? (Is "olive oil" good? - or another specific instrument type of oil?) Thank you for your time, talent and these wonderful flutes. Christmas is coming and these are wonderful instruments to consider.

Hi Denise, that's correct. Matt Molloy also plays it to his right shoulder. Paraic is a left-handed flute player.
A flute is not held on a shoulder, it's not a log after all.
