- It's here! LCUBE SUP 3.0 and cforce mini RF SUP 2.1 have landed, supporting the ARRI Hi-Speed Protocol and the Focusbug License.
Further features include Cinefade License support, better RED camera control, Encoder Mode and more.

Hey Sean! Sorry if it’s been said already.. can we confirm does the Alexa 35 on its own enable high speed protocol? No Ria or Lcube in the system. Just CineRT directly into the Serial port on the A35?
Also the Cal all feature you mentioned for the Mini RF, how do you use that feature? By holding the RF cal button?
Hey Shane, yes, ARRI Hi-Speed protocol is already supported when using the serial port on the ALEXA 35. The Focusbug license is not yet supported through this port.
CAL ALL is the same feature you're probably used to, it's just pressing CAL and then CAL ALL (instead of a single axis) from the Hi-5. Before this update CAL ALL wouldn't calibrate motors that were either not assigned to an axis or in encoder mode, and now it will :)
Hi Sean thanks for this. One question; if using an Alexa Mini do you still need the Cam -EXT cable for camera control or will that now work with Cam - LBus or is that limited to the Mini LF? Thanks
Heyo, CAM to LBUS Control is only available with the Mini LF, Super35 ALEXA Mini still needs CAM to EXT.
@@ARRIChannel Just so I am not making any assumptions, does the CAM - 3Pin in conjunction with the EXT-RS adapter when using an ALEXA Mini give me everything the CAM to EXT cable does?
You mentioned there is a SUP coming for Alexa 35 that will mean the cforce mini RF (or RIA-1) is not needed as part of this chain for the high speed bus to work. Is there also an update coming for Alexa Mini LF that would mean you can just use an LCUBE CUB-1 and regular cforce mini motors - i.e. not need an RF motor in the chain?
Hey there, the ARRI Hi-Speed Serial Protocol will already work when using an ALEXA Mini LF as the radio host, if you're using an LCUBE running SUP 3.0. The bi-directional communication needed to support the focusbug license is not planned to be introduced to the camera at this stage, however.
do we need a special cable to update the L-Cube? How do we do it?

Hey there, you can use a Hi-5 or a camera to do the update with an LBUS cable. Full instructions are in the release notes for the software update, available at arri.com/sups!
Will this update the faster focusing and tracking also work with the WCU4?
Hi Willem, yes there will be an increase in readout speeds when using the WCU-4 too.
Does encoder mode work with the wcu-4 dof indicator?
Yes, encoder mode is supported with all hand units.

does UDM-1 support this LCUBE update?
The UDM-1 is only capable of outputting the ARRI Classic Serial Protocol, which is still supported by the LCUBE and will be automatically detected.
