@@Ezhaa Its a great engine, no doubt about it. But since the Honda Hornet 750 came out, the CP2 is really outclassed and needs a big upgrade, if Yamaha wants to continue selling bikes in that segment. They were king for a decade now, but technology has come a long way since then. Once Honda releases a CBR750R the R7 will really be obsolete unless its a big price difference between the two.
Only 2 grand difference in the US makes the Aprilla really worth its money. But with a 7 grand difference here in Australia the aprilla is just too expensive (over 20k) for a starter entry bike. Only reason I picked the R7 👌
Here the difference is also 2k (euro). So, the aprilia is by far a better choice, much more beautiful, and still, I am going for the yamaha. Why? Too many reliability issues reported. So, I guess you'd pick the R7 anyways. Yet, it's a shame that such an amazing bike loses potential customers for that.
I would have gone for the Aprilia if I had a dealer remotely close to me. I bought the R7 two months ago and am loving it. All I’ve done is throw on an M4 exhaust. I ride it to work every day rain or shine.
we all know if RS660 is better than R7. Can you please make a comparison of RS660 from 2021-2024🥹 It think that would be very helpful for people who want to buy it, so we know what’s the part upgraded each year🙏🏻
Yeah wait till you see the maintenance cost of an aprilia. You don't even need 100hp for the street. I own an R7 and it has so much low end I can use. Plus its more reliable than european
@No_Name LOL, I have a CBR 650R bruh and I freaking love it. I have never ridden a aprilia in my life neither do I know about their reliability but they look cool though.
Great video. I've been thinking of getting the RS660 as a second bike. But not sure if it makes sense since I currently ride a Tiger Sport 660. I still really want it though.
@@lLooN3y It's a pretty sweet bike and, in my opinion, the most exciting bike in its class. I wanted a bike I could tour with that was still sporty and not too powerful (cos UK roads), and this bike is a good compromise. And that triple engine is a beauty, especially once you fit a full system. I only use mine for the road and that's what it's primarily made for, but it should be adequate off-road with proper tyres and maybe a suspension upgrade and an engine/exhaust protector. Just don't expect it to be an Africa Twin off-road.
Yeah if the rs is produce in somewhere in the ASEAN, I will choose it over the r7. But due to the fact that 500M VND (~21k USD) is a thing, the R7 wins this round
The beauty of aprilia is top notch but I wouldn't risk even 5k for this model with this frame... there is already a review with cracking engine and several recalls from the the company for different kind of problems... No thank you..
In the real world on public roads they're both a muchness for making hay while the sun shines. For me however, with real world daily riding in mind, the looks, comfort and larger capacity tank of the Aprillia sells it. That's not to say the R7 is a bad bike, at the lower price point it's good value, and for daily road riding, just as fast and as competant as the Aprillia, even if it lacks the electronics package. Considering my used Sprint 1050ST only cost me £4,000 second hand and has never missed a beat, I won't be forking out for either one of these machines any time soon. Ride safe friends

@@kaitokurahama7090 that's nice to hear. I am eyeballing the RS 660 and whatever the hypernaked model is called and I keep seeing comments about them being expensively unreliable. Me too man, me too. Such a beautiful bike, so many advantages over the competition, and still, I wouldn't go for it. I'd rather get an r7 with all it's lack of power, electronics, worse brakes, etc., etc., than getting a bike that would spend most of the time in the garage.
I wonder why Yamaha didn't make a R9 instead of the R7, it would have been a better move imo. I would rather buy a MT07 and upgrade the suspensions than a R7. Regarding the RS660, it's great but why so many electronics on it ? It's not a 200hp liter bike.
Because the R7 is more for the european market with their A2 regelations so they can sell more bikes. And for the RS660 you need another special bike with only 70kW max power.

R7 is a disgrace and a flop in Europe. You can go to any dealership and find lots of these lying around. New and used because of buyer's remorse.
