@abdurahmanpv What's to forgive? Are you that evil that you need that kind of reassurance? Personally, I find life much more rewarding when the goodness flows from me, not through or because of a God of one type or the other. You know that there are well over 1000 Gods in this world? Are you all right? Or is your God just what you grew up with? Have you tried being Muslim, Sikh, Hindu, etc? How do you know that your teachings (or God) are "right"?

All that magic stuff like NLP, silva method, ancient huna, may be good exercise for a brain and new experience but not for a long time. It's just fun don't treat is so serious.

Sorry then. I assumed that if you were able to spot the nuance that slipped through my fingers, you would also get my point.
There's a difference between "what works" and "what - you tell yourself - works". The same difference one could find between "seeing what you know" and "knowing what you see".
You're perfectly OK with a discipline (or praxis) entitled "Neuro-Linguistic Programing" having nothing to do with the scientific method?
Science is not a way to Truth, but to reality.

Watched again. You're right, he said "interpret" behaviour. More of a proto-structuralist, psychoanalytical endeavour than a behavioural one. Still, behavioural science isn't all that positivistic. No matter how often the interpretive methodology has been associated with psyan. school, I put it to you that behaviorists practice it as well.
Shows how little Bandler knows about social science AND positivist aproach.

@powerfulsexyprincess Strictly speaking Jesus is your "true salvation". NLP is just a collection of strategies and philosophies that can be useful to your life but Bandler admits himself that he does not have all the answers. To the riddle of life and death itself and for salvation we must go higher to the supernatural and encounter our true saviour Jesus Christ

@apolit11 Satanism infers that there is an entity known as Satan. Just because you believe in such a thing doesn't make it so, it is just a belief. Your beliefs are no more valid than anyone elses.
I have met many Christian "sinners", and because you/they can "prey for forgiveness" it's all ok. So effectively, you can get away with anything. Jesus is the biggest get out clause for mans failings ever created. He died so you can sin... am I wrong?

the reason Bandler and Anthony Robbins are great is because of their kick ass attitude and enthusiasm. Other NLP teachers make me wanna sleep...

@reghin79 Now I got it. And I respect the way you think, I just don't take things so seriously, so yes, I'm ok. I respect Sccience also, but I don't think it's the only way to reality. Btw, reality is all about perception, if you consider classic philosophers and modern physics =) Anyway, if you think I'm wrong don't bother yourself, I'm not a intellectual person.

The story about the behaviorist that asks "do you know S. Freud?" just doesn't ring true. Why would a behavioral scientist invoke Freud? Shows how little Bandler knows about social science.
And he couldn't even comprehend the concept of "penis envy", nevermind if it's reght or wrong.
I've been testing eye accessing cues. Most of the time they don't fit in with the process that I've started in the subject. Don't know where you came up with 80% correlation.

@absba9 well to em it seems that it claims that it changes your perception of the experience. couz experience ahs already happened noone can change history but you can change your perception or reaction you get from the experience-->thats what it claims as far as i heard and read

@saladfingers If I tell Jesus did not die, You believe it. He has been raised up. It is just like his birth which was a miracle. My brother, no one can shoulder our sins but only ourselves. Believe in the supremacy of God who is the one who will forgive all of us and guide to the right path. In NLP, there are good things. Accept what is good for you

Look at the process, not content. The purpose of that story was to get audience to laugh, so that he could later use that state. I think most of those stories are made up. Some of them are designed to elicit states, some of them are metaphors.. etc.
Eye accessing cues don't work as they are usually described. Most NLP of trainers will tell your just a caricature on that phenomena and leave out that all neurological details why/when it's happening. Google "Getting Real About Eye Accessing Cues".

this makes a lot of sense to me, as someone who studied NLP for a very long time - did not have the opportunity to go to a seminar though - i find it effective in helping improve the quality of my experience, but does NOT change the experience - which is what it claims to be able to do.

it changed my life.. but i was listening to hypnosis cds on psycho active mushrooms. went from meeting no girls to meeting and enjoying time w every one i wanted. i became the life of everywhere i went. i dont think he gives a fuck about controlled studies because the people that have been affected by what he does tells everyone around them about it. he doesnt have a hard time selling.
btw i get NO indication of replies.. so you dont have to worry about me arguing w you. lol and i dont give a shit if its placebo either. i wanted something and i got it.

@reghin79 I didn't get your point. Anyway, he's not trying to be scientific, not even saying that he knows the 'truth' or has a theory. All he does is find some things that work with people and use it. In his books he explains this. In college we have science, theories, etc. But he's not an academic, he just shares what he finds to work. - Sorry for the English, I'm from Brazil.

    • @kevinparsley6806

this was a great overview of what he does. funny though, bcause science is supposed to be the study of what works.
