I have fbo 435 xdrive too, and it was same story as on a video when I ran bm3 93 stage2 ots map. When I flashed it with stage2 e30 I was neck to neck with stock m4 and definitely faster in a quarter mile race. But when I upgraded my hpfp and order custom tune to run e50, my car showed on dyno 430 all wheel horsepower on a stock turbo vs m4's stock 379 rear wheel horsepower. Hpfp upgrade is a must for ewg n55. There is a video in youtube where 335 f30 with upgraded hpfp with full e85 tune stock turbo no meth beat m4 stage1
Valeriy Syutkin that’s awesome! The hpfp is a huge difference with the n55’s. It will help get you in those big 400’s. The 435 owner in my video plans on upgrading his turbo and that will really awaken his n55. This video was a good example of just the basic bolt ons for a stage 2 tune and how they perform against the stock m4
The ZF8 isn't faster at shifting than the DCT. It is, however, much smoother and still pretty quick. I prefer the violent downshifts and tight manual-like lockup of the DCT.
Agree with this plus, for launch control is better for street use. With a torque converter you can hold before a launch, some dct cars can hold that launch for too long or the car shits it down because it actually has to engage a clutch
Nice video! Off the line the M will be slower cuz it fights with traction a lot more. But Dustin needs to get rid of those wheels, killing the look of the 435.
Yea it’s not a good car for off the line racing. But when it’s rolling it will haul ass! And yea not the biggest fan of the wheel set up either

Most likely BMW is putting the 8 speed in the new M3/M4 because it's cheaper from a manufacturing standpoint when your entire platform uses the same components. And the ZF8 is good enough to meet all their performance criteria.

Sheeeesh. I thought the 435 would be closer to a stock M4. I’m going to do a comparison on my DP/intake/charge pipes M4 to a friends FBO 340. He swears it’s the fastest thing on earth and will drag me. It’s stupid fast for a stock turbo car but we’ll see lol. Either way, it’s way more to the M4 than straight line speed. Can’t go back to a non M.
I thought so too! When I had my FBO 435 I thought I was an m4 haha but I guess it takes more than that to catch up with these stock M cars. I’d be very curious to see how your comparison goes! That B58 has its own type of power and ways of being a sleeper!
@@AutomotiveTherapy yeah I thought my FBO n54 335 was just as fast too lol. The M4 with the DCT just bills so aggressively if you have traction. That B58 is weird though. The dyno numbers don’t really explain why they are so quick. Maybe the peak tq hits just low enough in the revs to get it out there moving. I haven’t come across a FBO one in the wild yet but I want to set up a video with my boys FBO 340, thic’s Supra, and my other friend’s M4 that has a little more meat than me. He can run with TC off. Should be cool.
Enjoyed the video! Would be nice to see a video comparing the 2 again but in the canyon or track. Can possibly be 435 with upgraded suspension versus the m4 stock suspension and see how they handle in comparison!

When I had my 2014 m235i, stage 2 catless downpipes. Dynos like 390whp/440wtq. Stock m4s are like 420Ish whp and similar torque.. n55
are not gonna compete against s55, in every aspect such as cooling. The n55 single turbo does sound great though.

My re-mapped 435d pulls on a M4 from any speed
435 needs a driver mod bad
My guy in the 435 was shifting high. Try shifting at 5,200 RPM. N55 loses power over anything higher. Also, a transmission tune would be great!

440mppsk is lightyears ahead 😭 b58 ftw. Pure turbos DP tune chargepipe, whole nother game 💪🏾🤟🏽
B58 is weaker than S55,
S55 is fully forged + better injectors and other shit so it can handle way more power than b58.
Btw B58 has very weak pistons

So 435i is missing XHP Stage 3 trans tune and some aftermarket lightweight racing wheels .
Then you will only lose by a car length or so. Been there done that in my FBO xdrive 435i gc. M4's are also underrated as well.
I have a FBO 435 with IPE catless downpipe, AK exhaust, Wagner charge boost pipe, CSF intercooler, B16 suspension, eventuri intake with Stage 2 map and speed limiter unlocked.
It is easy to hit the bottom of the speedometer.

Just a heads up - the M car will not will not let you blow the engine( that was also the case in my 325) . It actually back off on the power - auto prevention how cool! - have done it a couple of times :) - that's in stock not sure about once you do add ons. Maybe some feedback from the audience - keen to know.

I have a 435i xdrive n55 and you can hit red line but you have to have it in sports plus not just sports.I found that out sadly by being use to the auto shift and not paying attention and hit the red line.

Is it me, or does that 435 look a little bit....."tame" for a FBO car? I've seen video's of guys with just Bootmod3 Stage 1 or 2 cars pull as hard, or harder than this one did? Even in runs by himself, where the M4 wasn't in the picture, the pulls between gears seemed kinda looooong and lazy?
I did notice you have the same issue I have with the M4 from a dig. Currently on Pilot Sport AS3s so I have to launch it in MDM while in Mexico lol. Traction control keeps kicking in until mid 3rd then it pulls like a jets behind it. Put both on pilot sport 4s on a track with launch control and I think see a flip flop of those results. Love this video though. Subbed
Yea the more I talk about it the more I hear about these weird things with the launch control! I need more practice and better tires I’m still running on continentals. But hey my man!!! I appreciate the sub you won’t be disappointed with the upcoming videos :)
@@AutomotiveTherapy absolutely. I need better tires too. The only time I’ve seen launch control work well is on a prepped track in 90 degrees with cup 2s LOL. I was playing around with some of my N54/55 friends last week from a dig and it’s embarrassing lol. They have 2-3 cars on me by 3rd gear but then I’m like instantly 10mph faster than them and running them down. Taking TC off completely it’s even worse lol.

How different would you say the steering feel is bro? Im getting a new car later this year in the fall and am coming from an e90. Im really considering a m235i but I also like the 435i M sport. I know the m235i steering is tuned by bmw M
I owned 2 e90’s before my 435 and M4, and I must say there is a big difference in steering feel between the generations. I’ve never driven an m235i so I can’t say much on those, but I remember my 435 having loose steering but it was noticeably stiffer when I put the car in sport mode. In that mode it made it feel heavier and slightly more connected. At the end of the day nothing will feel as connected as the power steering in the e90. I hope that helps! Also stay tuned I just filmed a sweet 435 built yesterday that I will be posting in the next couple of days 😊

My question was if the 435i steering is much lighter than the m4 steering? I drove my friends f80 m3 the other day and loved it, theyre amazing cars
The 435 steering is definitely not as heavy as the M4 because the M4 has actual steering wheel adjustment buttons, while the 435 you only get one setting.

This is true. I raced a FBO n54 while I was stock and they kept up better. The N55 needs bigger custom tuning and most likely an upgraded turbo to perform against an M4

biggest thing people dont understand that dont own an m4 is that its not about the power gain, its nice but all the money you pay goes into supporting mods when I hooned my 335 up to 160ish it could not get enough air and fans would be on full blast but ive taken the m4 to 180+ and taken it right off the freeway and pulled into my garage and its SILENT

But this is totally true, I’ve noticed that my fans don’t even stay on for 1min after I shut it off after some spirited driving. My old 435 struggled hard for their. Cooling systems are HUGE factors

You won’t be disappointed! Go FBO and tune it and you’ll be extremely satisfied with it. Also you have the B58 motor so you are already quicker than a 435i stock. You’ll give M4’s a hard time for sure!

I owned a FBO Tuned 435XI and I could not smoke M4’s. I now own an M4 and wanted to do the same comparison and it turned out to have the same results. It takes an upgraded turbo 435 to beat a stock M4

I have vrsf midpipes being installed this week! They aren’t equal length but they will sure help open it up and make it more aggressive paired with my catless downpipes

Yes it’s a huge difference. There is a reason why it’s separated from the normal series. They are drastically different even as stock. Modified M cars are just insane power!

As a modified Xdrive owner myself. With working launch control. I would murder a stock M4 in the 1/8th mile. Probably 1/4 mile as well. Just sayin.

I used to take my 435 to the drag strip and would beat M4’s off the line with my x drive but after about 2-3rd gear the m4 would pull. They are very close cars from a FBO vs stock comparison
