After forgetting about the modlist for 8 hours it is now live! My condolences for your loss. Mods: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3336740567
Medieval Overhauls are my favorite. Especially when I can make a small wooden village in the modded Dark Forest biome. I don't know what mod pack it was apart of, but if you cut too many trees the Trees comes alive and attack.
I believe that Dark Forest is part of Medieval Overhaul itself. I could be wrong though. But I agree that it's awesome. The first time a tree woke up was a surprise to be sure.
There is a mod that combines the medieval medicines, medieval prosthetics and medieval cryptosleep mods and patches them for medieval overhaul. It’s called ‘medieval medicines medieval overhaul edition’
My last playthrough on Rimworld was easily some of the most fun I've had in a good while. Full Medieval modded run with combat mods, Knights Vs Zombies rebuilding humanity. Having the Knights charge out of the castle base against a horde of zombies/shamblers cutting them apart was just beautiful. The Medieval mods are just so good & seriously should be base game.
I'd recommend to use "Arms Galore - (Tasty) Medieval" mod, if you want medieval stuff but don't plan on using Medieval Overhaul due to possible incompatibilities.
I tried to get a good medieval pack together back when Royalty came out but I kept finding random oversights like non-medieval factions, items, research and quests in the game that ruined the immersion and a lot of the mods had a bunch of overlap that just made it a headache to sort through. I might have to try it again.
Just thought of a mod idea for a medieval playthrough. Although it would need Simple Sidearms or something similar. Pretty simple but a bucket for fire fighting that has a small target area and splash damage, it would need a well or water tile to refill. Just for a little bit more immersion.
Neat set of mods to wait out Vanilla Expanded: Medieval 2. Medieval Overhaul has some neat content too but i can't stand the changes to the crafting chains as it basically kills your chances of setting up base on a naked/wild men run. If i want complexity for metals, stone or the like i'd rather install Expanded Materials from Argón
If you ever want a voice for some of these whimsical medieval characters, yell out. I'd kill for a chance to play the village idiot. After a good bit of your rkeu video's hearing some new voices for certain characters would honestly add a ton. Kind regards. -Australian flake enthusiast.
Some Medieval/Classical era mods i'd recommend are "Vanilla Factions Expanded - Medieval", "Vanilla Factions Expanded - Vikings" and "Vanilla Factions Expanded - Classical", (Disclaimer, Vikings and Medieval have not yet been updated to 1.5 as the posting of this comment, also make sure to have "Vanilla Expanded Framework" installed if you haven't already.
the reason there arent medieval items in vanilla is that if you are a space-faring culture and get stranded on a planet, you wouldnt need to go through medieval tech to get advanced tech. you can skip that (with the exceptions of armor and sword/club/bow), as long as you have the ability to do advanced research. like you would if you had a crashed starship or were really smart.
You know tribal start is a thing right? You can go from neolithic hunter-gatherers who've vaguely heard of farming directly to an industrialized agrarian society by researching like, two or three techs because of the lack of medieval technologies. Not to mention the game already has a more elegant way for spacer colonies to avoid reliance on tribal technology, which could easily be extended to medieval technology if there were more than a tiny handful of them.
