@@eric-rosen wow you replied can't belive my eyes sir you are inspiration to a huge number of Indians, your lectures are super super helpful and helped me to learn a lottt, God bless you sir you are really working well . You made my day
Amazing content, perfect amount of depth, tangential lines and analysis to keep new players interested and learning efficiently. Although if I've gleaned anything watching CCSCSL videos is that Arjun is to be feared, do not play Arjun, he knows all the lines.
“The first game I played many years ago. I was 15.” It’s hard to believe in this vid Eric is only 23yr old. Many years ago is a bit of a stretch though, lol. Great vid. Glad to see your channel doing well.
Eric Rosen, and i like your attention to us in the channel. That really improves the bonds and help the casual listeners to subscribe and get to know better the classes and the game. Thanks for that.
Excellent lecture. As a chess learner and enthusiast I can honestly say that this channel has taught me more than any other on the 'tube. Akobian and Rosen in particular. Many thanks.
I love chess and i play a lot online. But unfortunately I’m weak in basics. Sometimes I win and loose. But thank god, fortunately i found your channel. You have changed my view on chess and now I’m learning something. The quality of your videos are outstanding. Thank you Eric. Love from Kerala ❤️
Maybe one reason these Eric Rosen lectures are so successful is that they appeal to a pretty wide range of levels. I think a 1300 can appreciate a whole lot of the content, but there's also plenty that an 1800 can learn from.
Rosen's never fails to deliver! I'm currently in a downward spiral, I'm kinda hovering at my current rating and I've now decided it was the good time to completely lay off playing chess to focus exclusively on theory, I have decided to learn at least a master game by heart everyday, do my tactics and endgames and perhaps a bit of opening theory as well. I will try to hold this regiment for at least two month, because I need to take a break from chess while not really taking a break from it, I want to improve. Pretty happy to saw I did see c1 was the way to go as black and see Qe2 was losing the queen.
Eric, I want you to know that I do enjoy your lectures a lot. All of you frrom SL seem to be cool people. Keep up! Similarly to your great lesson about the London system (I have been using it for more than one month now, beating players ranked 200 - 300 higher than me) I cannot wait to use Budapest this time! Thank you for your great work! (I might be back with some good news soon, lol... I mean good for me at least :)))
It's funny how things can change so much from one game to the next! Here he is rated under 2200 and beats a Grandmaster quickly with Black. His next game was the 1st round of the Illinois Open where he was announced as Illinois' newest Master. He had White in his 1st round game against little old me, and he was already in trouble after just 9 moves!! But, he was the better player and eventually won anyways!!
Guys, at 48:30 after bishop takes bishop on C3 and black moves rook on E8, can't white just move the bishop on the E5 square? blocking the rook atacking the qeen, he is also protected by the pawn and queen.
At 43:56, while I understand that highlighting Ne5 for instructional purposes was best, chess can't advance without backseating. So, just wanted to say that engine prefers Rxa1
Very nice lecture! I really liked the pace and keeping on topic here with some minor jokes and laughs. I also like Finegold's and Seirawan's lectures but I think they have too much jokes and chitchat in them. This one had just the right amount :)
44:39 I wonder what black's thought process was like...: "Yeah, Converting the extra rook & pawn can be tough... as we all know, rook & pawn endings can be pretty drawish after all. After Bxd4 however, the 2 connected passers are surely gonna win the game."
Who is Arjun? Can you please show him once in the video? I have heard his name a lot of time in your videos. I don't remember the names of GM, but I do remember Arjun and would like to see him.
I just watch the video today for the first time and I said the exact same thing Eric is actually wrong he can and would take the bishop and still block the Rooks check
Budapest is nice, problem is, you cant force it, if opponent plays knight f3 at the beginning, you never get Budapest-gambit, so good if you know another opening too.
Damn, you gave away some of my secret openings here, hopefully not so many will see this video :p Tho, on 43:40 I usually go for Re1, trade the black queen and keep the black bishop trapped, actually white is down on material but has initiative, but white sometimes fail to convert so I will consider more your line.
The first game seems like the GM version of scholar's mate! You can't just pawn storm and get away with it, even against a lower-rated player. I beat someone 800 points higher rated than me this way.
First time i saw him - hmm- second time - ok third time - this guy is really sympathic! And he knows, what he is saying! Took some time to say - i like his videos!
Brendan “I just.. (unclear) ..something like, I know.” I take it that this young man interrupted his lecturer only in order to say “I already knew that.” To which the lecturer responds “ok, you know” and then moves on. Is it more important to let the lecturer speak uninterrupted, or to let everyone know that “I knew that already.” I’m sure that kid is very very bright, but a wise man holds his peace and doesn’t make his own intelligence everyone else’s business.
I mean its clearly just a young kid and eric had earlier asked them if they knew the opening. He just realized he knew it a little slower but wanted to answer the question.
Good lecture but I started laughing when he stopped to as if anyone had heard of John Fedorowicz. I guess I started playing before most of the attendees were born.
25:18 “I saw that” and she says “he didn’t see anything.” I see what you mean, but I don’t think she’s jealous. She might just be annoyed. @@MaxiHartlieb No white Bishop on ( D2 ) can capture black bishop on C3 48.25 ( Black Rook is on H8 ) then and only then can black Roock can move to E8 giving white bishop time to move to E5 and block Rook capturing white Queen on E2.

48:25 why does Re8 win the Queen? White can play Be5 can´t he?
I believe in last example he can take bishop because he can block ur rook with that bishop simply....
My mistake! After white plays Bxc3, black should play Nxc3 with the threat of Re8. This line still wins a piece for black.
that was not that obvious, and there also would be a white move so that was not so clear, but thx
Nice sweater, man! Loved the video.
48:30 how does rook wins a Queen after Be5
Its your bishop that can go on be5. Enemies bishop can only go to be3 (which isn't possible cuz it's pinned).
@@MaxiHartlieb
No white Bishop on ( D2 ) can capture black bishop on C3 48.25 ( Black Rook is on H8 ) then and only then can black Roock can move to E8 giving white bishop time to move to E5 and block Rook capturing white Queen on E2.
Arjun sounds like a prodigy 😂
