- Can the Cardinals get Jackson Holliday from the Orioles in a package for both Sonny Gray and Ryan Helsley? Who are some other names that Chaim Bloom could go after to bolster the front office? Who closes games with Ryan Helsley traded next season? Is it really a good idea to move on from Willson Contreras?

Thank you for the smart well thought out answers!
How much TV money affect 2025 Cardinals payroll and does it cost 20 million dollars for the farm system rebuild ?
Mikolas and Matz are the ones worth paying to get rid of. I want to contend every year, so trade some, keep some. I try to unlock the kids on offense and invest in a pitcher better than Gray. Keep Gray and Fedde, good pitching will keep you in it. Trade Arenado, Contreras, Helsey, any others that can bring a return greater than the cost to keep them.
I feel like I have to point out that Ryan Helsley couldn't stay healthy in the minors, either. It wasn't that he only ended up in the pen because the cards had a need; he also had at least two shoulder issues I know of and I believe one forearm strain/soreness thing on his way up the ladder. I remember writing his profile multiple years in a row talking about the talent, but the durability questions as well.
Good stuff as usual!
Mo had said at one time he thought Oli was going to be farm director
I appreciate the response to my question. You brought up a good point/the flaw with my idea is some young prospects could get blocked. That did cross my mind actually.
Where do you take question submissions, is it in these comments, Twitter, etc?
Usually Andrew pulls them from the comment section of the last Q/A video!
Is there any update on who the PTBNL was that the Cardinals will get from the Tommy Edman trade? I know one of the initial reports of the trade mentioned the Cardinals were supposed to get someone from the Dodgers.
My trade wish, although unlikely:
SEA - Nolan Arenado, Lars Nootbaar, and PTBNL
STL - Bryce Miller, Mitch Haniger, and Mitch Garver
not sure the cards or fans want 2 more offensive mid 30s players hitting .200 creating more roster clog even with getting bryce miller. I'd rather get a young mid prospect with bryce miller.
@@Jens-we3vg I agree but Seattle is cheap too. Haniger and Garver are just there to offset salary so they can afford Arenado. They only have one year left on their deals and if either of them bounce back next year you could flip them at the deadline and if they don’t well you can just bench or drop them. I just think it’s a creative way to get a potential #2 starter with control and not give up any top prospects.
@@rallysquirrel2011 I don't want their 1 year. I want Burleson & Baker getting all the playing time at 1st as well as DH as much as possible. I want to give every opportunity possible to the kids & let them play.
If they make any moves to swap a “bad contract” veteran to help get a better package in a return for Arenado, Contreras, Gray, etc., I still think they’ll prioritize playing time for the young players. I don’t think it would hurt to have some part-time veterans to add some stability in the clubhouse. But I understand the trust issues with how our players have been managed the past few years…
Something like this trade proposal could happen. I can see us hooking up with them for a trade.
I will be okay with trading all but only if it makes us better with prospects but the main thing is i want an outfielder that hit
Can we package Mikolas with Nootbaar and maybe a lower prospects fot a bat
What do you think about mountcastle for helsey
