Actually it doesn't matter if one goes long or short, if the timing of the entry and exits are wrong both traders will lose. So thinking that all you have to do is do the opposite entry of a losing trader is a false premise. If you are talking about a winning trader using risk management then yes that would be true. But even proper risk management does not guarantee a winning trader if their entries and exits are more wrong than right.

I said what I said initially based off of my experience in coding trading strategies. I would take a terrible strategy then code it to do the exact opposite and that will also fail terribly.
