Dave Matrise of Jungle Rot on gun control, his other job as a hunting guide | Aggressive Tendencies

Jungle Rot's Dave Matrise explains why he doesn't listen to music as much as he once did because of all the loud noises he hears during his day job as a hunting guide, which was a natural progression given that he grew up living off the land in Wisconsin, where they hunt and utilize all of the animals they kill. He gives his stance on gun control, which would have widespread repercussions on his professional life. Interview conducted on April 4th at Coalition in Toronto.

Obv Dave realizes its a touchy subject in heavy music, but it's refreshing to hear a frontman say they don't have the answers. Gun control doesnt have to be "banning guns" but I'm not sure if there's room for nuance in a OG death metal interview lol

How is this guy's band not huge????? They all rock fucking solid! I love Jungle Rot. Kinda wish they had a different name, but ya know what? Fuck it. Gonna keep learning their guitar riffs and drum stuff, no matter what their name is. Hope they keep striving on and get the recognition they deserve. Fucking love this band l..l l..l
