I think the after school EP is her most mature work lyrically. PORTALS is definitely very creative but its more fantasy. After school felt like Melanie in a much more mature headspace but still keeping that Melanie sound. Great reaction!!
@@ashlenamusic Something I want to add is the fact of her saying "I´m mortal, defected by this form" (Test Me song) is a referece on what happens next on Portals.. CryBaby dies and reborn on a new being. On DEATH she says "Inmortal by desing" And you'll find more related stuff on K-12 the film.
she says she writes titles then collects all sorts of sounds that will fit the theme of the song, then she most likely thinks of the theme and the meaning along with the lyrics, then sees where her sounds and stuff will fit in to create atmosphere.
the deluxe tracks from crybaby are play date, teddy bear, and cake. she also has a dollhouse EP with bittersweet tragedy and dead to me. she also has a couple singles like gingerbread man and fire drill🩷
i love how when you react to stuff you keep it real. you talk about the things you like AND dislike and thats amazing. people shouldnt be afraid to point out the things they dont like in a respectful way!
loved this video, basically had the same reactions. the bakery was just her retelling working at a bakery while saving to get a foot into the music industry. genius said it pretty well, "“The Bakery”, sprinkled with sweet metaphors, describes Melanie’s high-school work experience at a bakery, replete with monotony and trouble from a tough boss."
@@ashlenamusic haha you were right! Also The Bakery is literally just about her unenthusiastically working at a Bakery in High School to make money for her music and art 😂
Another amazing video as always. 💕 I have been watching your videos since the portals reaction you did and I'm so happy to see you discover Melanie's other albums. :) I didn't have time to finish the video yet, but I wanted to tell you that Test Me is about accepting the challenges of life as tests from the universe that build strenght and wisdom, and also this EP is not about Crybaby but about Melanie herself, that is why It's more centered in the lyrics rather than the beat. That's all I wanted to say, can't wait for the K12 reaction.❤
