Ok .. bad news for me and good news for u... u are not alone now. Other day it wasn't updated to v 72.. now it's updated to v72. I have the same problem. .. I wonder if meta will fix again for us! I wish I could roll back the update.
I recently came across your channel. I enjoy and appreciate the time and effort you put into this. I have a question or two please. Are you doing this for better gaming results using PCVR? I would like better WiFi but I'm only using standalone Quest. Do you have any tips or suggestions for internet when your traveling and in hotels?
Quest 3 is definitely the best standalone VR gaming headset-great for traveling. But you can only pack so much power into such a small device. My passion is for the high-fidelity VR experience that you only get using a PC. Over the past year, I’ve been dedicated to achieving the best wireless experience with the Quest 3. I already perfected it with the Quest 2, so it’s become quite an obsession to get the Quest 3 running just as smoothly. Unfortunately, traveling with a good PC VR setup is hard and expensive. For that, I recommend getting a high-end gaming laptop with a good dedicated GPU, proper ventilation, and cooling. Then pair it with a reliable USB 3 cable and the Quest. A cheaper option would be a PS5 and PSVR2, if only their library was better.
@@Openyoureyesify When facing the router, it's smooth sailing. But when I turn my back to it, the signal dips down and starts stuttering slightly. If I move into the room its placed, it's pretty smooth all around. It's only when separated by a wall and facing away from it that the signal starts dipping.
Oh okey, when you are in the same room as the router, are there any noticable differences between this one and the Axe75? Especially when moving physically?
Oh another question, did you see that alot of SteamVR stuttering was fixed by a guy on reddit by disabling motion smoothing in the settings file? Been top post on all reddit VR forums.
@@wrusst not silly at all. Yes, after this video i did update to latest firmware on the router and the patch for v72. Unfortunately it had no effect on the signal strengt.
But keep the 6e in line og sight (unubscured) and close to your playspace and it will work just fine. 2401mbps up to 2-3 m away. Se my latest vid on using it as an AP.
@@MrTeeF Ah, that's great news! Also, I just bought the BE550 (due to arrive tomorrow) to replace my many years old ROG Rapture GT-AX11000. Hopefully I'm not downgrading in any way other than settings features that I 99% of the time have never used on the ASUS router.
@@MrTeeF Pleased to hear! Will be great once their new wifi 7 range extender comes out which shall hopefully improve the range of the 6GHz band more considerably.
My go to channel for VR/streaming info! Bro is doing the lord's work!
I’m Looking forward to your next video
Great video! yes, I think a lot of people could benefit from reusing their old routers as APs...
A new update came out on the 9th. I hope that update didn't break mine now :😮 I have to recheck now.

Are there less stutters/drops from physically moving your head and controllers with the new router? At least as long as you are facing the router?

Hmmm... To me honest, if your able to have the AXE75 close to your playspace it's more then adequate.

@@Openyoureyesify no. I need to check that out. Thanks for the tip

I tried changing the setting, and I'm not sure if it's in my head or real. But there might be something to it. 🧐
I haven't had time to try it yet, but seems like alot of people are seeing progress with it, so probably not in your head :D
Might sound a silly question but did you update firmware on the old 6e router as one came out in Nov and did it help ?

Update to V72, my friend! And also... would you say there's much difference in range with this over the TP-Link Archer BE550 which has 6 antennae?
@JynxedKoma i am (and was) running v72. This is the also know as the Archer BE550. It has six internal antennas and grate range. ;)

It works grate so far. Very happy with it.
