حضرت داتا گنج بخش علی ہجویریؒ کی پاکیزہ زندگی اور تعلیمات سے ہمیں طبیعت کی وسعت اور نفس کی سخاوت وفراخی کا درس ملتا ہے۔صوفیا کرام نے ہر دور میں انتہا پسندی کے خاتمے کیلئے کام کیا، ہمیشہ امن، سلامتی اور رواداری کے پرچم کو بلند رکھا۔حضرت علی ہجویری المعروف داتا صاحب ؒنے قرآن و سنت کی روشنی میں حقیقی تصوف کے اصول وضع کیے۔ برصغیر میں اسلام کی تبلیغ اور اشاعت و ترویج میں صوفیا نے نمایاں کردار ادا کیا ہے،صوفیا کرام نے اپنے کردار و عمل سے لوگوں کی زندگی میں انقلاب برپا کیا اور غیر مسلموں کو اسلام کی طرف راغب کیا۔برصغیر وپا ک وہند میں دین اسلام کی اشاعت اور ترویج میں حضرت علی ہجویری ؒ کا کلیدی کردار ہے۔اولیائے پاک ہند میں آپ کا شمار ریئس الاولیاء والصوفیا میں ہوتا ہے۔حضرت داتا علی ہجویری ؒ نے اپنی پوری زندگی میں علوم و معارف اور حکمت و دانائی کے خزینے خلق خدا میں تقسیم کیے۔کشف المحجوب جیسا بے مثل خزینہ جسے بجا طور پر تصوف کا دستور العمل کہا جا سکتا ہے۔ اس سے آج اہل علم فیض پا رہے ہیں۔حضرت داتا علی ہجویری ؒ نے اپنی تعلیمات اور علمی فیضان سے اس دور میں فکری و اصلاحی او ر اخلاقی انقلاب برپا کیا۔ حضرت داتا علی ہجویریؒ کے وصال کو ایک ہزار سال ہونے کو ہیں،مگر آج تک آپ کا فیض ہر کسی کو یکساں مل رہا ہے۔

حضرت داتا گنج بخش گیارویں صدی کے ایک عظیم صوفی بزرگ ، عالم دین اور استاد بھی تھے اور ان کی کتاب "کشف المحجوب" کو صوفی ادب کی ایک کلاسک سمجھا جاتا ہے۔ شیخ الاسلام ڈاکٹر محمد طاہر القادری نے جس طرح داتا علی ہجویری کے حالات زندگی، روحانی مقام اور علمی خدمات کاذکر کیا ہے شاید ہی تاریخ میں کسی نے بیان کیا ہو۔
