What, they're talking about The Clash selling out? Hell, 1982 was their peak...they only got better with time, expanding from just being loud and angry to being more refined.

I highly doubt Skrewdriver was doing their racist bit around that time, because the one skin who says he liked them, also went onto say he liked the Body Snatchers
they did 1 album as an apolitical band and split up
then the only racist in the band, Ian Stuart Donaldson, recruited other neo nazis to bring back Skrewdriver as a white supremacist band

I don't like Skrewdriver's racism...but their music isn't bad. There are some good racist bands out there...like Midgards Soner, Skrewdriver, and Kill Baby Kill! If you ignore the racist shit...the music isn't bad.
How is punk dead? The system is still there, people are still fighting it. Seems like it's pretty damn alive to me. Punk isn't about what you look like. It's a lifestyle.

I know they didn't start out racist...but let's be honest...they put out most of their music as a racist band...and their best music was as a racist band.

sad to see that really no london youngsters have those accents anymore. only small pockets in bermondsey, east london,south east and to a certain extent south-west london.

It was a hippy getting beaten up on the cover of "face the aggression". Skrewdriver were originally just a punk band, Donaldson broke them up, then reformed the band with different members, but kept the same name.
And for the most part, the only punks that I can tell that skins don't like are usually crusties, but usually so long as politics aren't brought up, they get along just fine.

This must to be in the very early 80s if you pay attention to the skin they said "Skrewdriver","Upstarts" and so and no the typical Oi! that followed that bands like 4 Skins, Blitz or The Last Resort. The same for the punks, X Ray Spex, UK Subs, Penetration, and no the typical UK82 hardcore like The Exploited, GBH and others. BTW good video
@SKIZINGDRUG Yes she did. And her comments at the end were absolutely right - a lot of the inventiveness was completely lost by 1979 or 80. Much punk and skins music by then was just badly played heavy metal tbh.
