YES, I've been thinking that they should make a lonely, somber, even semi horror action movie. where its just Steve and a dog or Steve and Alex. surviving the harsh world where no night is safe. can see a villager village that's empty of inhabitants (personally a dog being there always makes it feel more lonely to me in a way, cuz they tend to wander and there's the worry that one day they may just not come back) could end the movie on a note of uncertainty as he enters the final portal near the ender dragon. there's A LOT of things that could be done. and I'm disappointed that all we get is a somehow even lesss serious jumanji film, from THE MOST popular game in the world. i will never cease to be amazed about how uncaringly companies will hurl a few hundred million dollars at something no one wants

@@quindonthebunny3146 Bro, till it's such real life version like in this trailer, Mojang cannot trademark. The creator just cannot use Mojang exclusive assets and names.

this actually understands what the game is. this captures how it feels. Even though it doesn't look like minecraft at a glance anyone who has played it would recognize it.
The idea of a like classic 80s horror film with stop motion creatures, but with modern horror ideals and based on a modern game is, delectable. It feels more like a minecraft version 1.6 movie, which i enjoy. A very different vibe back then
@@user199xI might just but stupid and worded this weirdly, but i was thinking about films like it follows, just kind throwing the viewer into the same scary world as the character, not having some spooky book or something. A focus more on what psychologically scares people, like weird faces and stretched bodies. If that makes sense! sorry if it doesn’t !
I think we should not let this cinematographic style die. Now, there are few films that manage to be a work of audiovisual art, the vast majority are nothing more than content. That's not a bad thing in itself, but you realize that there's something fascinating about movies that break that regime that's working right now. People have to understand that Minecraft, yes or yes, needs a Dark Fantasy movie with realistic, but well thought-out artistic concepts.
absolutely!! I've been saying that for years now. Everything is so polished and lazy just to get a quick buck out of it. No character, no journey in it, just a mindless back and forth of nothing burger characters, which is why I dislike the DP&W movie even though I loved the character previously. It's also why I loved The Batman movie. It has character, style and meaning from the single item placed to every film grain. That is the bare minimum how movies should look. Or like this video. There are exceptions to the squeeky clean aesthetic, like longlegs. That one is still great, but would like the camera, the visuals of the lenses to be more era apropriate, not 2024 clean
The fact that just adding actual Minecraft music makes this 100x better speak volumes for me No dialogue, no spoilers, just dark atmosphere and a single facial in the end… and it somehow it PERFECTL conveys the dark atmosphere of Minecraft when you first start playing
I've always loved the concept of Minecraft as a thriller/horror fantasy. I feel a lot of people forget how scary Minecraft is when you're new- especially as a kid experiencing it for the first time- and a movie that encapsulated that through someone living in a very real Minecraft world would be beautiful. The fear also powers the undying curiosity and wonder of the unknown in such a strange, lonely place, which is what I feel Minecraft should be depicted as. Minecraft has always been for me a story of survival and discovery.
О боже! Это прекрасно! Я мечтаю чтобы этот фильм действительно вышел, но в разы лучше чем официальный майнкрафт фильм. Warner Bros, просто плачет от стыда, ваша работа офигенная!
This is what i always dreamed of when i was little. The older textures were simple yes but i always felt like there was an almost hidden retro gritty yet mystical "reality" to them. Like if you upscaled them you would end up in a dark and mysterious world where you are all alone trying to survive its grotesque creatures. The old cobblestone and netherrack for example come to mind. Also the paintings really fed this idea back then to me that Minecraft was this weird lonely world Steve had to endure.
I wish they went both ways. Like one scary fantasy and one more goofy and like a pixar movie. Would make sense. More money and more people to be brought in to minecraft
TBH, I feel like this fan trailer get's close to what I think the original feeling of minecraft back in the day was, a dark world filled with monsters the player have to brave against. Though to be fair on Mojang kind of, I feel like there current direction, while different, is as valid (ie I think modern minecraft is more centered around navigating a diverse world where you can create what you want with others in the community). But then I feel genuinely, what we've seen and heard about the actual minecraft movie, is that it fails to properly use either of those directions minecraft can be, and it's a by the numbers movie.
I'm in LOVE with the old-school effects, like puppet skeletons and painting-esque vistas! THIS is what A Minecraft Movie should've been like, if it wanted to go live-action.
The monster designs are dope. I love the old looking filter and the music too... This is how you do live-action minecraft with a realistic art style....
This is what the Minecraft movie should’ve been more like. The contrast between this trailer and the official one perfectly demonstrates how creatively bankrupt the movie industry has become
Consequence of nepo-hiring your family members and people who dickride your ideology. The movie industry is hopelessly oversaturated, to the point the only people who get hired, are often times the well connected. What ends up happening is movies get directed by generic morons who direct it begrudgingly, or try to make their own movie out of the material. Doesnt help that movies are very expensive, so only the well connected rather than the talented get a chance at producing good stuff.
This is basically how I usually visualize Minecraft if I lived within my own Minecraft-world, not that I don't appreciate the important blocky aspect needed especially for mining and crafting but from the perspective that on one hand it can be played like a Dungeon crawler rpg this dark fantasy fits pretty well.
This looks just like an 80s movie and I love it. The quality and cgi are just like old movies, there is also this weird feeling i get from this video as kind of a freedom full alone experience and that is precisely what minecraft singleplayer is about. Without a doubt the best fan made trailer i've ever seen. GOOD FRICKIN JOB MAN!!!!
This is exactly the out of left field direction the team for the movie should’ve taken. An introspective dark adventure with a nostalgic feel. Love the skeletons being stop motion, very Jason and the Argonauts!
Not only this artistic vision feels more like the game but the construction of the trailer does. This trailer is more peaceful and showcases the world, yet still giving this sense of loneliness that Minecraft always had. Also, you can feel the adventure going on. You don't get a lot of information except quick glimpses of locations, monsters and wierd stuff so you actually wonder what is it all about. You use your imagination, which is what Minecraft is all about. The choice of music tops it all. This is what I expected from the actual movie trailer, thank you.
This is so beautiful. The movie trailer with jack black was so disrespectful to the former generations and to see something like this is nice. Its really really nice.
this is exactly what i would want out of a Minecraft movie. The choppy old school look of films like Jason and The Argonauts lends itself so perfectly to a game with choppy old school graphics where you make everything out of blocks and you have to use so much of your imagination to fill in the blanks
While animation would be the objectively smarter option, the truth is, this is exactly what I as an individual would've wanted the Minecraft movie to be. Thank you.
This is fucking beautiful , the atmosphere captures a essence of a eerie lonely world . This exactly feels like the feeling of playing in minecraft for the first time alone . This masterpiece should not deserve to be the original minecraft trailer it *SHOULD* be the minecraft trailer .
Even though it's not blocky, it still hits the criteria of what is Minecraft. It looks nothing like the game and yet it is one of the most Minecrafty looking videos. It doesn't need to be 1-1 accurate looking to the blocky world, what really let us know that this is the Minecraft world is something a bit more important, the tone and theme. That's where the Minecraft movie really went wrong, because even if they could make the animation look good, it still wouldn't feel like Minecraft. And that's because the Minecraft move has Jumaji's theme, not Minecraft's theme, not Minecraft's soul. This video may not share the same shape of Minecraft, but it shares the same heart, flesh, blood, and soul of Minecraft
I love the usage of classic movie tricks to create some of these scenes, especially the one for the nether. Idk how much of this was AI-assisted but I love the nether painting. I would actually pay to see a minecraft movie like this.
I absolutely LOVE the design of the Enderman. It's lanky and shadowy and looks like it's roaming the land searching for something it may never find, alone.
At first, I thought this was one of those Dark Fantasy AI trends I’d see on TikTok. However, I was completely blown away when I saw the behind the scenes video of this trailer and found out it was in fact real and cgi. This trailer has blown me away completely!
Easily could've won cinematography of the year, would give people hope in not only the directors but also just adaptations in general, still respects the game but also is live action. Literally could've been perfect
Honestly the fantasy elements of MC are super underrated. I guess that aspect gets overshadowed by how much the game revolutionized the sandbox concept.

@@quindonthebunny3146 Bro, till it's such real life version like in this trailer, Mojang cannot trademark. The creator just cannot use Mojang exclusive assets and names.
This is what they should've done if they still wanted to make it live action. Essentially a fantasy or dnd like setting
naaa they prob would of still fucked it up - i feel if videogame content or any content needs to be made should be people on youtube
Mojang wanted a comedy movie as it fits Minecraft’s style best but they couldn’t have an animated movie as it doesn’t fit comedy as it usually feels lifeless if you mix blocky animated and comedy in one do live action comedy it was but how they were gonna do it? Hire the most random cast and make it work jack black does fit his role well in the movie and Jason mamoa is just there
minecraft is known for its blocks
@@CtRAlTtAbso then make it animated if you’re ride or die for the blocky aesthetic. This half realistic and half cube choice makes everything look like Ai schlock. If you’re going to make live action Minecraft accept you have to try to make a live action creature design
@@connordendy Ew comedy? Almost no one will will say comedy was a major part of what encapsulated their Minecraft experience.

Rest in peace brotha
this is exactly what i imagined when i first played
I would DIE to see a full length film like this. You've PERFECTLY captured the atmosphere of Minecraft... especially in the early days.
Fr I would sacrifice everything
I'd pay so much money to see a full length feature film of this style.
Damn even the torch he's holding doesn't light up blocks. True attention to detail here.
This feels like the actual vibe of the first versions of Minecraft, it's the dark fantasy movie i was imagining from the start.
This reminds me of the first time I played minecraft, I was scared of everything and would not leave my dirt hut even in the day, just because I saw a creeper outside.
This is so cool, I can't believe how fast you were able to get this out. Seriously talented! I wish this were the movie we were getting.
Watching ur stream rn

hi
I'd kill to see a Minecraft movie like that. A mini series on UA-cam or whatever, it just reminds me so much of my childhood, it's perfect.
somehow it's comforting to relate to that
Agreed
this actually understands what the game is. this captures how it feels.
A very different vibe back then
Would you mind expanding on what modern horror ideals are, in contrast to other types of horror ideals?
@@user199xI might just but stupid and worded this weirdly, but i was thinking about films like it follows, just kind throwing the viewer into the same scary world as the character, not having some spooky book or something. A focus more on what psychologically scares people, like weird faces and stretched bodies. If that makes sense! sorry if it doesn’t !
I think we should not let this cinematographic style die.
Now, there are few films that manage to be a work of audiovisual art, the vast majority are nothing more than content. That's not a bad thing in itself, but you realize that there's something fascinating about movies that break that regime that's working right now.
People have to understand that Minecraft, yes or yes, needs a Dark Fantasy movie with realistic, but well thought-out artistic concepts.
practial effects and stop motion are amazin and they really still work and hold up well
This sounds like a lot of art-babble without much substance.
Just start consuming indie films, Hollywood is not changing.
@@anecroYou will never amount to anything more than a contrarian.
absolutely!! That one is still great, but would like the camera, the visuals of the lenses to be more era apropriate, not 2024 clean
watch Mad God
The fact that just adding actual Minecraft music makes this 100x better speak volumes for me
No dialogue, no spoilers, just dark atmosphere and a single facial in the end… and it somehow it PERFECTL conveys the dark atmosphere of Minecraft when you first start playing
The shot at 0:22 has such a eerie, almost liminal vibe to it, and I would gladly watch a movie with those kinds of stylized visuals
Fr, the lighting, the village behind, the cow, the old golem in the rocks, it's such a good composition. I wish the Minecraft movie was like this
This is what i always dreamed of when i was little.
It's absolutely stunning. This is the real Minecraft. Guys, at this point, we need to start a fundraiser to make this movie happen !!
i'm down!
jason and the argonauts style skeletons are really cool
I can confidently say that not only would I watch such a movie, I would rewatch it, cherish it, and still talk about it years later.
I'm pretty sure this original feeling is what most minecraft fans would've wanted from a minecraft movie.
Thank you.
So mix better than actual Minecraft movie trailer
YES! THIS IS WHAT WE WANT.
Either fully realistic or Minecraft styled animation.
This is fucking beautiful , the atmosphere captures a essence of a eerie lonely world . This exactly feels like the feeling of playing in minecraft for the first time alone . This masterpiece should not deserve to be the original minecraft trailer it *SHOULD* be the minecraft trailer .
AAAHHHHH, WHY IS THIS SO GOOD!!!
This is what the Minecraft movie should have been
Especially if they want to make a live action, the vibe of this captures such a cool perspective.
nope
I love the VHS stop motion style.
unironically this is perfect
the dark fantasy style has something so... amazing in it, so weird, so perfect for minecraft
this is what minecraft movie is supposed to be, what a magnificent work.
I loved the bushy Creeper detail. In older versions, the original Creeper texture was actually from the Leaves block texture, and still is.
I love that, especially after seeing the teaser, so many artist went, “Fine. We’ll do it ourselves.” and made things like _this_
0:48 is probably the best shot
The contrast between the horror/liminal clips with the goofy mobs REALLY creates an interesting and unique atmosphere.
I REALLY REALLY love this.
I love the usage of classic movie tricks to create some of these scenes, especially the one for the nether. Idk how much of this was AI-assisted but I love the nether painting. I would actually pay to see a minecraft movie like this.
This is just... Beautiful.
The nether portal burning in purple flames is such a good depiction
Love the retro style
REALLY? Nobody react to this?
Wow!!! Thanks so much for the support!
This should be an amazing movie
See how much better this looks when it's not AI generated?!?
I absolutely ADORE the 80s fantasy film style.
WE NEED A COMPLETE MOVIE OF THIS MINECRAFT, IT HIT SO HARD🗣️🔥🔥
That's how minecraft movie should be, a medieval styled live action one, no blocks, just a dark universe
I NEED MORE! PLEASE MAKE THIS AN ACTUAL SHORT FILM!!
Start a kickstarter if needed, I'll be the first supporter!
this
Best part zero AI generation here. This guy have great talent in filming and cgi. Awesome production.
I absolutely LOVE the design of the Enderman. It's lanky and shadowy and looks like it's roaming the land searching for something it may never find, alone.
This is truly one of the most captivating and nostalgic videos I have seen. I felt this video in the pit of my stomach.
likewise
At first, I thought this was one of those Dark Fantasy AI trends I’d see on TikTok. However, I was completely blown away when I saw the behind the scenes video of this trailer and found out it was in fact real and cgi. This trailer has blown me away completely!
Easily could've won cinematography of the year, would give people hope in not only the directors but also just adaptations in general, still respects the game but also is live action. Literally could've been perfect
that steve reveal gave me goosebumps, way more powerful than "i... am steve."
Honestly the fantasy elements of MC are super underrated. I guess that aspect gets overshadowed by how much the game revolutionized the sandbox concept.
I want this to be a real movie sooo badly.
Same 😢
This is way better at capturing the lonely/eerie atmosphere of singleplayer minecraft. The 80s dark fantasy theme fits that really well somehow.
