(Side note: I still can't get over the fact that typhoon happened over the exact city as in the movie just months after the movie was released.) Anyway, we don't need Shinkai's skill tell your story, because you portray your own so well. 🤗 Thanks so much for sharing, Loretta! I live vicariously through you (at least for now).

    • @kemushichan

      Great question! I mainly used Trello so I can move each task from "planning", "doing" "check" "done" in columns with deadlines and checklists, and a BIG THICK PLANNER BOOK. I don't like using digital planners as much because you can really only see surface level or deadlines at once. I like to be able to see impending doom before it hits haha.

      I always get out at meijijingumae, right in front of Tokyu plaza, walk under ground through the subway tunnel or walk down the street by zara / nori temaki to avoid the two main crowded streets 🤬.
      Also, if you get out at Shibuya via subway and walk out the Shibuya CAST exit, itll drop you by my favorite cafe and salad spot "city shop" where you can refuel and then sneak through cat street. Its a quiet 10 min walk that'll drop you by Tokyu Plaza again w/o the crowds 😏😍

    So in the US storm supplies (especially for snow storms) is milk, bread and eggs. I guess everyone makes french toast?? So what are the storm supplies in Japan? What gets wiped off the shelves in preparation for a typhoon?

    • @kemushichan
      @kemushichan  4 роки тому

      French toast 😂😂😂. Yeah pretty much the same, plus rice and apple juice. The meat/produce/everything really was gone (Boomer got the last two chicken breasts) but most people left sushi and tacos/tortillas behind. Hahha a lot of Foreign residents commented on the abundance of tortillas.

    Hi I’m thinking of doing English subtitles for your videos. I’m just wondering how often you’d like to release videos that I’d need to do? I haven’t done this before but I’d like to help.

    so would you recommend living in Japan? The videos that I have watched said that the people are not the friendliest to foreigners. Is this true?

    You looked absolutely amazing this entire video. I'm 😭😭
    Such a busy schedule!
    Can I ask how many companies you work for and if you're doing translation work or implementing your graduate research into your job? Also, i remembered that you had a job with NHK, will you be on the road again soon? I'm looking forward to flipping on my tv and seeing you in a mini tour-documentary!

    Cafe and restaurant tips are most welcome. My wife and I and our children and grandchildren visit Japan 🇯🇵 each year. Not THIS year obviously. But we are hanging out to go to Tokyo which is my wife’s happy place. We do like Japanese food but our favourite thing is Japanese western and Indian restaurants. They are often the best we’ve ever eaten at. My tip is Theobroma chocolatier in Shibuya (Musee Du Chocolate). It’s near Yoyogi Koen and the NHK studios. They do the BEST hot chocolate in Tokyo and have great lunches, cakes and handmade chocolates. Cheers from Perth, WA くむしちゃん

    So every time I hear the THX sound I always think of the Tiny Toons episode where some of the characters are in a theater and the sound test is so loud that it's blowing people out of their seats.

    I know this feeling with not finding your shade but here in Germany. Also, a reason why I miss Japan. Even though I'm a white, german girl, almost all colors are either too dark for me or quite expensive. Plus, most of the time sold out. ToT That's why I always have one extra for back up.
    Was it difficult to find a place in Tokyo that allowed dogs? How did you find the place and how expensive is the rent?
