@talldude123 Probably some very early low-end decks wouldn't have them. My 1985 Sony SuperBeta SL-100 only has A/V out, no A/V in (and it is a recorder).
Super cool, I love the sound it produces and I can't replace how it makes me feel when I see that familiar picture they produce. These old tvs were the best and obviously last forever. Thanks for sharing.
Man, this video really takes me back. I remember playing my NES and Genesis games on these types of TV back in the day when I was a kid. We've definitely come a long way in tech (Gigantic 480i box TV's to flat/light 1080p 3DTV)
When you left it plugged in overnight and came home to a working tv, where it didnt work before, sounds like the capacitors had a chance to reform, there is a special electrical film inside capacitors that stays intact or restructures its electrons if needed with electricity being applied but that also degrades without being used once in a while. So to save your capacitors you should plug in all your electronics once in a while, i'd say at least twice a year to keep capacitors working good.
Nice Television from sanyo . Thats when they made televisions . I like your black cat in the beginning of the video . I could of got a sony trintron television with remote control for 10.00 a few years ago . But I passed it up . I should got it .
Can someone give me assistance? I have an old 1986 Zenith advanced system 3, 25 inch console tv. I'm having electrical shut off failures with it. I would appreciate if you could help.
and a 1984 McDonalds Commerical.... I need to tell you in that summer some wacked out security guard wacked 21 people sitting in a Mcdonalds in San Diego. Man that was nasty
aww the good old days when things actually lasted a very very very long time. Now in days any thing you buy won't even last a year with out breaking. so sad😢
From the early 1970's, Sanyo (Sanyo-Guthrie in Australia, Sears in America) manufactured color TV's with 'pre-heat' picture tubes; almost electrically indestructible. A good picture was attainable after many years of continuous use..
Every now and then, these old Sears consoles appear at my local thrift store, usually in non-working condition, probably due to user abuse, these old consoles last forever. I love the look of these old consoles, I almost want to by a broken one, get rid of the boards and tube and put an LCD monitor inside lol. PS. Did anyone notice the DVD logo hit the corner at 00:54? Lol I love the office.
That Emerson VCR964 sure brings back memories. I worked for Emerson for three years and I worked on alot of those VCR's. Ahhh the good ol' days!
@peleguigo Thanks.
I don't have any interior pics of this TV. It may be a while before I have a chance to get to it.
@talldude123 That is Macrovision. That 1984 VCR is immune to it being that macrovision didn't come out until 1985.
0:29, 0:52 IT HIT THE CORNER
@talldude123 I hooked it up through the VCR.

We had a few of the Zenith corner sets when my dad worked for Zenith. I always liked the Zenith 25" with the white pedestal.
I wish they still made them like this. The "wood age" had the best styles.

This viddeo just reminded me that I have a box FULL of old VHS tapes somewhere in my garage. i'll have to dig it out.
I still have that plastic Sears card as shown at 6'13!
The same happened to me with my BATTERY operatet 1984 calculator !?
Spats, did you ever get around to uploading those commercials to UA-cam yet?
How long did sears have sanyo make tv for them, I know that my 86 is from sanyo, I am almost sure that the 1970 was also from japan. Maybe sanyo?

Back then...They built them to LAST....Today's ones are generic and disposable
