- Ken Tanaka of Wish4Fish is back on the water! This time fly fishing in Bolivia at Tsimane Lodge with Untamed Angling.
I was down in Bolivia with Untamed Angling and Tsimane Lodge at their Secure Lodge in the jungle of Bolivia. I can say as of now this is my favorite fishery in the world. The chance to catch Golden Dorado, Pacu and Yatorana on the fly! If you're lucky you can have the chance at some insane catfish like the Surubi and Moturo!

Thank You, nice Video 😊.In the Pacific Northwest, Once while chasing Trophy Summer Steelhead and Spring Chinook (as I very often do), I heard someone call people born in Argentina, "Argentines", so I went to a number of College Campuses, and asked Natural Born people from Argentina, "what they should properly be called", and the answer from 23 people who were born in Argentina, was invariably the same (Argentinian )!!

Maybe 1 day. Guessing because they didn't have the prices posted it is way out of my price range. I have guided here in Texas for bass but I've only been guided once on a 1 day trip. It was very memorable for bonefish, the scenery was amazing and half the fun.
Unfortunately, the trip is not cheap. Although you really do get what you pay for on this occasion. As you can see they go all out. Immediately starting from the pick up at the airport, lodging, food and guides. It's most definitely one of the best destinations services out there. Especially Bolivia. I think this is the best trip out there and a LOT of people have agreed with me.

No doubt! The one thing you can’t quite capture is the true jungle experience! The jungle Tsimane natives, the sounds, the butterflies and being out in the middle of no where. It’s a fantastic trip.

I was there early in the season in August. It is no doubt an amazing experience! Trip of a lifetime that you will never regret.

Any suggestions for where to get Pacu Flies / Hooks and Dorado Flies? Im headed down in a few months!
You can use and 2 or 3/0 hook. They basically use giant Deceivers. Honestly, I would just get all your flies from the lodge and guides. They will have anything you need. If you really feel the need to tie your own as I mentioned it’s basically a giant Deceiver.
More times than not, I have seen people bring their own flies only for the guide to say “you’re not using that”
Especially for Pacu. We used a real nut! I have seen them take dries like a Chernobyl but it all depends on when and where you spot them. Again, I would trust the guide’s recommendation.

Did the lodge provide fly fishing gear or did you have to bring all your own gear?
I always bring my own gear. You can arrange to borrow as well. Most lodges have gear, only been to one that didn’t.

What time of year were you there and about what is the air and water temp? Sick video
We were there in August which is the dry season. They really only two distinct seasons and thats wet and dry. August is considered winter in our terms although I would hardly call it winter when it's 80 degrees. Can't remember the water temp but it's very warm.

You can’t go wrong with any Abel. Especially the SDS. Best reel in the market.
I think you are right , I have 5 Ables but not an SDS . Was not sure on there sealed drag set up .

Just buy the flies there. You could make them, basically giant deceiver type fly. Although I never bring flies to destinations trips. I have hear too many times “we are not using that” from guides to know better. 😉
I was using an 8wt.
