- 2019年2月19日、福岡市の新天町商店街において、福岡税務署主催「確定申告書等作成コーナー」PRイベントが行われ、ここで精華女子高等学校吹奏楽部のみなさんが、パレードと演奏を行いましたので、その模様をアップいたします。
このイベントでは、3年生が演奏。定期演奏会前のイベントとしては最後の演奏となりました。

Always a fan of Seika! Small in number but Huge in sound! Great musician's each and every year!
Please be aware that this is just a small select team to cover these type events. In a major parade they will put out nearly 200 PLUS a huge color guard. They have so many to choose from they can participate in more than one event at the same time. Their skill levels are very high and there are several "teams" that can perform this same repertoire.
I really love this band,their standard of musicianship is stupendous and their choice of music is very individual and second to none -Mike Nesmith's "RIO" ,absolutely marvellous! Keep it up Seika you are up there with the very best !
Better correct myself before someone else does : Mike Nesmith's "Rio" is indeed marvellous but the girls are actually playing their version of Pablo Cruise's "I go to Rio" (A&M LP "Worlds Away") and doing such an awesome job of it that I have to keep replaying it over and over! The confusion just demonstrates the delitarious effect of advancing old age (I'm 72) but these great kids make me feel young again!!!
These girls continue to excell. Much credit to their instructors and teachers. Here they have just enough personnel to get the job done wonderfully. I can picture the entire band performing these selections which has got to be awesome.
I believe they have several of these bands. they select enough players to go and perform at such functions. They are all put together for the competitions in marching. Their wind ensemble (one of the best in all Japan) may be selected group as there is a limit in terms of numbers for each performing group. Needless to say Seika is a remarkable HS school program. I would love to visit them .Anyone out there know how to contact the school for a visit?:

I like the way the percussionists switch off on set tunes-so many are capable in this regard. There are no "egos' as they do whatever is asked of them in supporting roles too. First class students.

ほんと音が良いですね(^^)。さすがです。
何年か前に玉名女子高に来てもらって演奏会を開催したことがある。その時、ひとりひとりの音が柔らかく、とても綺麗なのに驚いたことを思い出した。九州の女子高の演奏技術はとんでもないレベルですね。音を出すというよりか音が出て来るんですね。
I think the music department of the Seika highschool is one of the best in Japan and in the world in different departments . I think students are selected to play in a orchestra ,or selected for doing only competitions (show ) and students are selected to do only festivals , parades like this one for example . This band can be expended with 200 students or more if they choce to do so .Anyway...the level of music in Japan just basels me in a positive way. No one in the world comes even close to them . Yes Japan HS is the benchmark for bands (marching and concert) the world over. As a former HS band director I can only marvel at their programs such as Seika. And they do it year after year. It's a very supportive culture for music and Pearl and Yamaha subsidize many schools as they have excellent equipment for all events and activities. This band plays all year long and practices every day-It just wouldn't work here in USA.
The first marching selection is "How The West Was Won" but does anyone know the name of the Latin Samba (2nd slection) Very catching! And they play it at all marching events.

ありがとうございます。画像がとても綺麗でした。新天町商店街の狭い路地、初めて拝見させて頂きました。お疲れ様でした。さて、恒例の神業演奏技術者たちの3年間の最後の定番合奏。流石のアンサンブル。個々の技術は然ることながら、他の奏者の音の強弱とリズムを聴くことが出来ないと、この纏まりの音色は不可能でしょう。卒業後も各々の分野での“ゴールド金賞”を目指して下さい。

This is a bit political as they would have to be sponsored by the Green Band organization which underwrites the expense . Each year they bring a band from Japan and call it "the Green band" -these bands are good (especially Tachabana from Kyoto ) but Seika would be even better and perform in all mediums during the weekend (Disneyland. Pasadena Bandfest and concert at JFK HS. .If they do get an invitation I would book my flight from Boston next day!!
Have been a long time fan of Seika-they were a large and powerful band. What has happened?
Might of had to limit the size due to the venue?
This isn't even a quarter of the band that performed their Star Wars routine.

This event only 3rd grade students perform . In parades they march 200. Competitions they march the BEST 80 and have won more than 20 gold medals in a row at All Japan competitionm. We have nothing to compare this too here.

こんばんは、精華女子の、パレードは、なかなかみれないのでありがとうございます。かなり狭い通路撮影お疲れ様でした。大変だったとおもいます。彼女たちも、すごないなぁ、幅がぎりぎり

今年は人数が少なくてこじんまりしてるなあと思ったら、２０１８年パレコンの前、卒業生バンド「S☆OB's」のO団長の母子対決で現役生のお嬢さんが、今年は３年生が少なくて大変ってボヤいていたのを思い出した。
朝早くから夜遅くまで音楽漬けの３年間を過ごした彼女達。進学するにしろ社会人になるにしろ、幸多かれと願いたい。
手作りの衣装を提供してきたお母さん達、舞台装置を担当してきたお父さん達、大変お疲れ様でした。
