My pastor (and I’ve gotten to where I rarely attend his church) bought some food for Simone one day and when he saw them eating inside and that they lied about who they needed the food for, he went back inside and confronted them. That was wrong. He also comes across as angry and short tempered. He went off on someone (not sure who) during his sermon a few weeks ago when he thought he saw whoever it was roll their eyes at what he said. He went off right in the middle of whatever he was talking/screaming about. That’s the last Sunday I’ve been back. I think that’s the wrong way to handle that. It should have been handled in private.

I went to that church in Capetown, Montague gardens, and yes they have always been this arrogant, I think though over time, their arrogance and greed gets worse. At that time the tithe message was a very big part of the Sunday meeting, with a well made video by some of the young congregants to back it up and a new one each week. These people get their money from strategically using talented congregants who do this work for free. Even putting money together for for new church buildings, plots, building work etc much of this gets done for free. They manipulate business people by saying things like, "so your business is doing well, but god is telling a business man sitting here that if you give Me Xyz money He is going to double your profits". Even the poor get manipulated by saying that they are poor because they are not giving enough. This type of manipulation is actually witchcraft/sorcery. Their is an absolute huge beleif in tithing even in regards to people numbers and naturally for every extra 100people you have their is a statistical chance that there will be 5 that are very gullible. The home cell leaders are under strict orders to increase their numbers and have to answer to the hierarchy if that have not brought in their quotas. When I was asked by my home cell leader,7 who I used to play gospel music with that I must sign a form giving/promising allegence to CRC my answer was a definite no as I belong to Jesus and not some earthly organisation and further to that I said that if they preach once more on a Sunday about money then I am leaving. Any way I left soon after that. I don't personally think that people should be part of these things called church, rather join a genuine christian group in your area that adheres to what is taught in scripture and that walks in humility and repentance all money's collect going to love projects aimed at spreading the gospel in that area. Every cent given to the poor and destitute goes directly to Jesus and is stored as treasure in heaven(Jesus words not mine). This large Church thing with man made hieracies is satans answer to the genuine way in which believers should get together and have fellowship with one another. This thing call church was already corrupted by the Roman Catholics around 300 AD and is nothing more than the Harlot posing as the bride of Christ. She has lots of bling, big auditoriums, the best of music and equipment but is thoroughly dead and is void of the Spirit of Almighty God. She perceives her darkness as light and likewise her adherents. It is so far removed from the churches the apostles started and yet there are so many bible believing christians caught up in this, it is truly amazing. Paul and the apostles and elders were humble mostly poor people who worked to support themselves in order to enable themselves to spread the word there was no bling about them but the real spirit and power God was with them. I was at a church one time, and it was not a mega church, but nobody wanted to get involved, because the pastor was a little strange. When somebody would volunteer to do a certain ministry, he would try to get them into as many ministries as he could, and, of course, all those people volunteer for free. There is nothing wrong with finding a ministry that you can volunteer in while you were at church. However, people have limits, and they need to have other things going on in their lives. They are taken care of, like family, friendships, etc. Those things are all honoring to God if you do them in the correct way. I pray one day that this pastors church is completely empty, but I won’t hold my breath. People love a message that tickles their ears, and they want a prosperity gospel that promises them more money.

This is an honest comment from the heart and not an attack. I wish for some people to receive enlightenment and be encouraged as they read this message. At Boshoff lacks gentleness (a fruit of the Spirit) in his preaching. He often shouts an his followers and this a style that’s been adopted by some of his subordinate pastors too. Read Colossians 3:12 for an attitude Christians should have. At demands the submission of every member to himself and asks his subordinates to do the same. He calls this ‘submitting to authority’. While Hebrews 13 At will be manipulating asks Christians to make their leaders lives easier by listening to them, the fact of the matter is our Lord demonstrated His servant attitude by serving. He is the One we should all submit to. When a men asks adults to submit to him, it’s about control. That At does very well. Read Corinthians 1 on how an apostle should behave in his office. Christ is also clear that He is the only authority we submit to in Matthew 23. Scripture should also be studied together with other scripture to get a wholesome understanding. It’s easy for a preacher like At to zoom in on short verses that boost his agenda without reading the whole chapter for context. At says he doesn’t want people’s money but plays reverse psychology games to later ask for it. Any CRC member knows that At’s vision is to have many mega buildings across South Africa and other regions (one church, many locations). While there’s nothing wrong with having a grand mega project vision, it is wrong to manipulate and misquote scripture to guilt members into an expensive personal vision. Buildings are not the church, we are. Our love for one another encourages non-believers to also want what we have. It is wrong to guilt trip people into giving. In fact, the biblical concept of giving with cheerfulness is misunderstood in CRC and other mega churches. You get a clip to tell that you should give without being forced but the clip (usually Malachi scripture) is played every week to condition people into giving. Sundays towards or around month end paydays, the giving messages become firmer. In fact, tithing is not only encouraged but almost forced in CRC. Members will be told how they’ll miss out on blessing and other almost generic manipulative tactics used by most mega churches. At Boshoff will literally shout and harass people over this subject if he senses that his records indicate that tithing is low. During the covid pandemic he went ballistic on tithing for obvious reasons i.e. church lockdowns. While tithing is not for Christians but under Jewish law, we still give gifts to other Christians, the poor and even to ministers of the gospel (even though apostles like Paul in Thessalonians worked for their own survival). As Christians, giving is part of what we do and we should do it generously but more important is understanding the message of the cross, receiving it with understanding and sharing it with others. Jesus even told the Jewish leaders that tithing was the not the big issue but more important issues were of justice, mercy and faithfulness. Read Matthew 23. Another issue I identified with CRC is that most members have a heavy reliance on the sermon and not reading the Bible with understanding. Even their Bible study notes are often a re-emphasis of At’s messages and what his points were. Members who read would mostly likely look at it with a prosperity lens seeking some sort of blessing because that’s what their leader teaches. At knows that majority of his followers are in this state and abuses this fact. I learnt to read the Bible for myself. Most of the things At says are based on his emotions (especially politics), scriptural manipulation or a shallow understanding to suit his agenda i.e bigger crowds listening to his motivational speeches. A lot of mega church preachers just want numbers because numbers mean more cash. They then preach an appealing prosperity message instead of focusing on transforming lives to become more Christ like. The crowds are young, so loud concert style music is used yo play at emotions too (a mix of high notes and lower sombre tunes). The message of prosperity just sells to a materialistic generation. Who doesn’t want a better job, bigger house, more business opportunities? This is all materialistic and belongs to a passing world. Store up treasures in heaven says the Messiah. Even perfect health on this earth doesn’t matter as much as spiritual health. Another issue is that At wants to do all the preaching perhaps 90% 9of the time. He occasionally hires his strictly trained subordinates who don’t go off what he’d already say. Some of them have been brainwashed to the extent of even dressing like At. This to me is indicative of someone who is controlling. Ask yourself why one person wants to fly around in a helicopter to preach in all services (never mind the costs)? Are there no other people who have received Christ and have the Holy Spirit to share the word? In fact, Jesus’ instruction was for us (all believers) to share the gospel. This means anyone who receives the good news can share with other people through the help of the Holy Spirit. Read Titus 1 and compare to At’s character. Does he fit the description of the church leader described in the Bible? Why do people need special appointments to see a pastor? Does he visit poor members homes? Why does he show off the politicians and senior government officials who visit the ‘church’ on social media? Read James 2. I pray that the people of CRC receive the understanding I too received and stop being used by leaders. Lastly, revere Jesus Christ and not men. Do not perish and be taken for a ride just because you lack biblical knowledge. If you desperately love God, seek him for yourself and don’t rely on teachers who can falsely preach things to rile up your emotions. May God guide you with wisdom

You don’t know all the facts about him, his church is doing good things, you don’t know how he made his money and what other sources he might have……. The fact is much of social media starts with a possible truth and then grows like a snowball…. Have you tried to talk to him. There are times when social media hurts people I know with half truths and lies that I get very angry.
In the case of this clown, not much else needs to be investigated. He's plainly showing you what type of man he is by berating any who oppose him. It's up to you whether you want to believe him or not. Was a member for many years, my parents were elders, and the stories.... Man oh man. Cell group leaders are forced to comply with all their demands, forced to "donate" somewhere between R5k and R15k in addition to their tithes. Have to "encourage" cell group members to pony up another R4.5k monthly. I doubt we need to know "ALL the facts" to see him for what he clearly is and is not. His church may be doing SOME good things, but just imagine how much good he could do with R400mil instead of what he currently is.
When it comes to tithes and offerings and donations, people need to know precisely what is being done with their money. That is being accountable, and keeping folks honest. You are not obligated to just trust all church leaders, elders, and pastors; since they are not all truthful and honest. Some are not. Churches and ministries and charities must be completely open and transparent and give detailed accounts for every dollar. Show complete and detailed proof. Why wouldn't they be? Why would that requirement offend them? It shouldn't if they have nothing to hide. Now their own time and money out of their own fair and honestly worked for wages, well they do not need to announce that to the congregation. Keep that secret. For example you take a homeless person out to eat and then put them up in a studio apartment and keep it paid or else put them up in a monthly motel and keep it paid and visit them once a week and bring them food and pray with them. Keep that secret. Or maybe you take a shut in or a person with mental health issues or emotional issues or developmental delay and you take them out to eat once a week and you give them kindness and friendship and time. Take them shopping or to the zoo. Bring them groceries or a new coat and shoes or some spending money. Tell nobody. You donate your own money to the homeless shelter or donate your own time free of charge to the soup kitchen. Do not tell a soul. But every dollar received in donations, offerings and tithes must be detailed and accounted for. Show proof in pictures and book work and bank statements and all.
I decided a long time ago that I would donate to Christian causes, not charities, who put most, if not all of the money into their ministry. All too often, pastors will tell people they do not need to know how their money is being spent. My parents left the church we grew up in because the church was spending far more money than needed to become a megachurch, but that church still preaches sound doctrine. I'm just not a fan of having to have all of the nicest things. I'd rather worship outside or in someone's home.

My pastor (and I’ve gotten to where I rarely attend his church) bought some food for Simone one day and when he saw them eating inside and that they lied about who they needed the food for, he went back inside and confronted them. That was wrong. He also comes across as angry and short tempered. He went off on someone (not sure who) during his sermon a few weeks ago when he thought he saw whoever it was roll their eyes at what he said. He went off right in the middle of whatever he was talking/screaming about. That’s the last Sunday I’ve been back. I think that’s the wrong way to handle that. It should have been handled in private.

I went to that church in Capetown, Montague gardens, and yes they have always been this arrogant, I think though over time, their arrogance and greed gets worse. At that time the tithe message was a very big part of the Sunday meeting, with a well made video by some of the young congregants to back it up and a new one each week. These people get their money from strategically using talented congregants who do this work for free. Even putting money together for for new church buildings, plots, building work etc much of this gets done for free. They manipulate business people by saying things like, "so your business is doing well, but god is telling a business man sitting here that if you give Me Xyz money He is going to double your profits". Even the poor get manipulated by saying that they are poor because they are not giving enough. This type of manipulation is actually witchcraft/sorcery. Their is an absolute huge beleif in tithing even in regards to people numbers and naturally for every extra 100people you have their is a statistical chance that there will be 5 that are very gullible. The home cell leaders are under strict orders to increase their numbers and have to answer to the hierarchy if that have not brought in their quotas. When I was asked by my home cell leader,7 who I used to play gospel music with that I must sign a form giving/promising allegence to CRC my answer was a definite no as I belong to Jesus and not some earthly organisation and further to that I said that if they preach once more on a Sunday about money then I am leaving. Any way I left soon after that. I don't personally think that people should be part of these things called church, rather join a genuine christian group in your area that adheres to what is taught in scripture and that walks in humility and repentance all money's collect going to love projects aimed at spreading the gospel in that area. Every cent given to the poor and destitute goes directly to Jesus and is stored as treasure in heaven(Jesus words not mine). This large Church thing with man made hieracies is satans answer to the genuine way in which believers should get together and have fellowship with one another. This thing call church was already corrupted by the Roman Catholics around 300 AD and is nothing more than the Harlot posing as the bride of Christ. She has lots of bling, big auditoriums, the best of music and equipment but is thoroughly dead and is void of the Spirit of Almighty God. She perceives her darkness as light and likewise her adherents. It is so far removed from the churches the apostles started and yet there are so many bible believing christians caught up in this, it is truly amazing. Paul and the apostles and elders were humble mostly poor people who worked to support themselves in order to enable themselves to spread the word there was no bling about them but the real spirit and power God was with them. How far we are removed from that in this church age...

I was at a church one time, and it was not a mega church, but nobody wanted to get involved, because the pastor was a little strange. When somebody would volunteer to do a certain ministry, he would try to get them into as many ministries as he could, and, of course, all those people volunteer for free.
There is nothing wrong with finding a ministry that you can volunteer in while you were at church. However, people have limits, and they need to have other things going on in their lives. They are taken care of, like family, friendships, etc. Those things are all honoring to God if you do them in the correct way.
I pray one day that this pastors church is completely empty, but I won’t hold my breath. People love a message that tickles their ears, and they want a prosperity gospel that promises them more money.

This is an honest comment from the heart and not an attack. I wish for some people to receive enlightenment and be encouraged as they read this message.
At Boshoff lacks gentleness (a fruit of the Spirit) in his preaching. He often shouts an his followers and this a style that’s been adopted by some of his subordinate pastors too. Read Colossians 3:12 for an attitude Christians should have.
At demands the submission of every member to himself and asks his subordinates to do the same. He calls this ‘submitting to authority’. While Hebrews 13 At will be manipulating asks Christians to make their leaders lives easier by listening to them, the fact of the matter is our Lord demonstrated His servant attitude by serving. He is the One we should all submit to. When a men asks adults to submit to him, it’s about control. That At does very well. Read Corinthians 1 on how an apostle should behave in his office. Christ is also clear that He is the only authority we submit to in Matthew 23. Scripture should also be studied together with other scripture to get a wholesome understanding. It’s easy for a preacher like At to zoom in on short verses that boost his agenda without reading the whole chapter for context.
At says he doesn’t want people’s money but plays reverse psychology games to later ask for it. Any CRC member knows that At’s vision is to have many mega buildings across South Africa and other regions (one church, many locations). While there’s nothing wrong with having a grand mega project vision, it is wrong to manipulate and misquote scripture to guilt members into an expensive personal vision. Buildings are not the church, we are. Our love for one another encourages non-believers to also want what we have.
It is wrong to guilt trip people into giving. In fact, the biblical concept of giving with cheerfulness is misunderstood in CRC and other mega churches. You get a clip to tell that you should give without being forced but the clip (usually Malachi scripture) is played every week to condition people into giving.
Sundays towards or around month end paydays, the giving messages become firmer. In fact, tithing is not only encouraged but almost forced in CRC. Members will be told how they’ll miss out on blessing and other almost generic manipulative tactics used by most mega churches. At Boshoff will literally shout and harass people over this subject if he senses that his records indicate that tithing is low. During the covid pandemic he went ballistic on tithing for obvious reasons i.e. church lockdowns.
While tithing is not for Christians but under Jewish law, we still give gifts to other Christians, the poor and even to ministers of the gospel (even though apostles like Paul in Thessalonians worked for their own survival). As Christians, giving is part of what we do and we should do it generously but more important is understanding the message of the cross, receiving it with understanding and sharing it with others. Jesus even told the Jewish leaders that tithing was the not the big issue but more important issues were of justice, mercy and faithfulness. Read Matthew 23.
Another issue I identified with CRC is that most members have a heavy reliance on the sermon and not reading the Bible with understanding. Even their Bible study notes are often a re-emphasis of At’s messages and what his points were. Members who read would mostly likely look at it with a prosperity lens seeking some sort of blessing because that’s what their leader teaches. At knows that majority of his followers are in this state and abuses this fact. I learnt to read the Bible for myself. Most of the things At says are based on his emotions (especially politics), scriptural manipulation or a shallow understanding to suit his agenda i.e bigger crowds listening to his motivational speeches.
A lot of mega church preachers just want numbers because numbers mean more cash. They then preach an appealing prosperity message instead of focusing on transforming lives to become more Christ like. The crowds are young, so loud concert style music is used yo play at emotions too (a mix of high notes and lower sombre tunes). The message of prosperity just sells to a materialistic generation. Who doesn’t want a better job, bigger house, more business opportunities? This is all materialistic and belongs to a passing world. Store up treasures in heaven says the Messiah. Even perfect health on this earth doesn’t matter as much as spiritual health.
Another issue is that At wants to do all the preaching perhaps 90% 9of the time. He occasionally hires his strictly trained subordinates who don’t go off what he’d already say. Some of them have been brainwashed to the extent of even dressing like At. This to me is indicative of someone who is controlling. Ask yourself why one person wants to fly around in a helicopter to preach in all services (never mind the costs)? Are there no other people who have received Christ and have the Holy Spirit to share the word? In fact, Jesus’ instruction was for us (all believers) to share the gospel. This means anyone who receives the good news can share with other people through the help of the Holy Spirit. Read Titus 1 and compare to At’s character. Does he fit the description of the church leader described in the Bible?
Why do people need special appointments to see a pastor? Does he visit poor members homes? Why does he show off the politicians and senior government officials who visit the ‘church’ on social media? Read James 2.
I pray that the people of CRC receive the understanding I too received and stop being used by leaders.
Lastly, revere Jesus Christ and not men. Do not perish and be taken for a ride just because you lack biblical knowledge. If you desperately love God, seek him for yourself and don’t rely on teachers who can falsely preach things to rile up your emotions. May God guide you with wisdom

Publicizing your opinion doesn't really help the public instead people just get confused. People end up not knowing which church is Godly and which one is a cult. We need to seek God with Spiritual matters and not just on the bases of wealth.

😢 Thank God, I left these type of churches. I visited this church few times it's a mega big church in Pretoria Hatfield. Thanks to Covid I decided to study my Bible for myself, God opened my eyes and I left all these type of churches.

You don’t know all the facts about him, his church is doing good things, you don’t know how he made his money and what other sources he might have……. The fact is much of social media starts with a possible truth and then grows like a snowball…. Have you tried to talk to him. There are times when social media hurts people I know with half truths and lies that I get very angry.

Cell group leaders are forced to comply with all their demands, forced to "donate" somewhere between R5k and R15k in addition to their tithes. Have to "encourage" cell group members to pony up another R4.5k monthly.

When it comes to tithes and offerings and donations, people need to know precisely what is being done with their money. That is being accountable, and keeping folks honest. You are not obligated to just trust all church leaders, elders, and pastors; since they are not all truthful and honest. Some are not. Churches and ministries and charities must be completely open and transparent and give detailed accounts for every dollar. Show complete and detailed proof. Why wouldn't they be? Why would that requirement offend them?
It shouldn't if they have nothing to hide.
Now their own time and money out of their own fair and honestly worked for wages, well they do not need to announce that to the congregation. Keep that secret. For example you take a homeless person out to eat and then put them up in a studio apartment and keep it paid or else put them up in a monthly motel and keep it paid and visit them once a week and bring them food and pray with them.

Or maybe you take a shut in or a person with mental health issues or emotional issues or developmental delay and you take them out to eat once a week and you give them kindness and friendship and time. Take them shopping or to the zoo.
Bring them groceries or a new coat and shoes or some spending money.
Tell nobody.
You donate your own money to the homeless shelter or donate your own time free of charge to the soup kitchen.
Do not tell a soul.
But every dollar received in donations, offerings and tithes must be detailed and accounted for. Show proof in pictures and book work and bank statements and all.
I decided a long time ago that I would donate to Christian causes, not charities, who put most, if not all of the money into their ministry. All too often, pastors will tell people they do not need to know how their money is being spent. My parents left the church we grew up in because the church was spending far more money than needed to become a megachurch, but that church still preaches sound doctrine. I'm just not a fan of having to have all of the nicest things. I'd rather worship outside or in someone's home.
