@@DownShiftThrottle unfortunately yes , a sunroof , chassis control and a few other bits and it up there , plus we have a lefty green government waging war on the working man .
We have a 2023 A3 and a 2022 Q2 and it’s the same with those cars too, plenty of scratchy plastics but luckily they not on the touch points. Seems that VAG are using lots of cheap plastics in their cars post covid now, the pre covid built cars have quality interiors.
Well said and I agree. I think they have the "sustainability" strings to pull. Shame really as they charge a premium for not a premium interior nowadays. Touch points are good though.....
Another thing I’ve noticed, on our A3 and Q2 the wheel arch liners are plastic, my 2018 SQ5 has carpet lined wheel arch liners reducing road noise, so cost cutting isn’t just limited to interiors.
Blimey, well my GTI doesn't have an engine cover.....but I think that had something to do with them overheating and burning.....but yea there's loads of cost cutting going on ....
Agree ! Cost cutting is insulting! It’s 91k for this ( golf R) plastic fanatic car in Ireland with a few options .
Whoa, €91k ? That's absurd mate. Did not think it was that much.....

The diesel gate fines ruined VAG quality.
It certainly appears so.....same with Audi unless you're in an A7 upwards.....
It's as if they don't have much money
Probably Dieselgate fines cost them more than expected
