- Profoundly deaf since the age of 18 months, Sue Thomas spent a lifetime breaking sound barriers. Susan K Thomas, age 72, of Columbiana, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord Jesus on Tuesday, December 13th, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Boardman Ohio. Sue was born on May 24, 1950 in Youngstown, Ohio. She's the only daughter of the late William and late Clara Thomas. Sue was a graduate of Boardman High School, attended Ohio State, studied political science in Springfield College in Massachusetts, biblical studies at CIU in South Carolina, and psychology at Case Western Reserve. Sue is widely known for her time working at the FBI in Washington, DC doing surveillance work as an undercover lip reader. Her life experiences were dramatized through a syndicated TV series called, Sue Thomas FBEye. She was also an author and an internationally renowned motivational speaker. Full of energy and determination her heart's desire was to inspire and encourage people in all walks of life. She is the founder of a non-profit organization called Sue Thomas Ministries, which includes WaterBrooks, a prayer sanctuary in Vermont and also an outreach to homeless on the streets called Operation Silent Night. She lived a life of overcoming many challenges with grace, courage and abundant joy. She considered her greatest accomplishment in life to simply be staying in the race.

She makes me ashamed of myself. I want to be more like her. Look at her beautiful countenance and her vision to see blessings I miss every day. ❤. What amazes me most is not only her perseverance to embrace deafness but how she doesn’t shake her finger at God when He allows another HUGE test in her life, MS. Some would think they ‘deserve’ better after being faithful to Him. I love her resolve to embrace whatever God allows knowing He is always good. This is such a testimony and encouragement to me
WITH God all things are possible 🙌
With many if not most of us the journey of walking His path With Him IS a journey. We people are shepherded by Him when He gets us to the place of sweet surrender to Him and His will. Apart from God we can do nothing. With or without Him. He is The Guide. God deals with hearts. Only With Him can we do His will ❤️
We are each fearfully and wonderfully made. God has a plan for each of us. I pray you trust Him that He will shepherd you in the way of His will. His way if best. His plans are to prosper and not harm though in this life we will have troubles God uses our story for His glory 🙌
Yes AMEN and AMEN 🙏
Amazing story! Watching this as Christmas Day ends. So inspirational! I must find out more!
Amen! What an encouraging testimony!
As she walked through those gates she heard "Well done, good and faithful servant!" along with a big hug from Jesus 💖
My son was born deaf because I contracted German measles when I first became pregnant. I heard of Sue some years ago and bought the DVDs for all the TV shows for my son. Sue is such a blessing to so many people, so used of God. I'm certain she will be richly rewarded for her faithful obedience to His calling. God bless you all and have a wonderful Christmas.
I also was born after my mom had German measles. I have a lot of minor symptoms. I’m much older now and I’m almost completely deaf in one ear and the other is pretty bad. I have two hearing aids, so at this point, mine is correctable. I watched the entire series and loved it. She is so amazing!
She had a wonderful spirit about her. Now she can hear the Angels singing "Glory to God in the highest"
Well… at the resurrection of the saints when Jesus soon returns.
Amen!
What a blessing to hear her testimony... Just imagine what her recent homecoming in Heaven must have been like!!
My grandmother became deaf shortly after birth in Idaho, was orphaned very young, married quite young, had 10 living children, many grandchildren, she and my grandfather moved to Alberta and homesteaded NE of Calgary. I knew her a little, mom only went to see her once that I remember when my baby brother died. Wish I could know her now, she spoke but was hard to understand and I never understood it was because she was deaf. She was actually a pretty amazing woman that accomplished a lot.
I'm not exactly sure how I stumbled across her show, but I was moved, so moved that I bought all her seasons on DVD, and then I bought another set for my daughter who is a teacher of the hearing impaired. Sue, I want to share with you something about Fanny Crosby, who was blinded during her first year of life, then at age 40 began writing hymns and tunes for hymns, over 8000 of them. A friend once asked her, "Fanny, why don't you just ask Jesus to heal you so you can see?" Her reply is so beautiful, "Because when I receive my sight, the first person I'm going to see is my precious Lord and Savior." Listening to you Sue I get the same feeling. It's a humility that has a beauty all its own. God bless you Sue Thomas.
May she Rest In Peace. She gave an amazing talk at my granddaughter’s baccalaureate last June. She lived not far from us in Tunbridge, Vermont. Her memorial service is later today 12/21/22
No! Im so sorry to hear this!
Im sitting here as Christmas day comes to an end and I found this.
I want to learn more about this special lady and now I find it she’s recently passed away.
Hello 👋 😊
Not only does she speak she has amazing intonation, speed, rythme vocabulary...just amazing, not to mention a gracious spirit, humour
...
I had never known before that Sue Thomas was a real person, but have enjoyed the TV show for years. It is an honor to hear the true story!
Hello 👋 how are you doing Cathy😊
What an incredible woman of faith.
Hello Jody
How are you doing today?
This lady was amazing! God TRULY guided her life and led her through her entire life! When I went to a nurse aide convention many years ago, she was there to speak and I am so glad and I feel I was truly honored! She sang Silent Night for us and it was beautiful! This powerful and extremely rare but precious child of God was a gift to us. Her talents so many and her so humble, she could engage you the whole time she was speaking. You are home now with your Lord and God, Sue. Thank you for leaving us such a legacy. Our loss is truly heaven's gain!!
Now I have met the real woman behind one of my most favorite TV shows "F.B. Eye," and I have been truly blessed by this interview with this incredible woman who by the grace of God has done amazing things, and giving glory and honor back to God in the process. I would have liked to have met her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Had no idea this show was based on her real FBI life what a blessing she is letting her light shine for Jesus! Thanks also to 100huntley for sharing
I was fascinated by her story. I watched the T.V. show, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, which led me to get her autobiography. What a testimony! What a life!
PRAISE GOD FOREVER. WHAT A TESTIMONY. HOW UPLIFTING AND I REALLY NEEDED TO HEAR THIS LADY TODAY. I AM 81 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE LEUKEMIA SO HER UPLIFTING MESSAGE AND HER FAITH IN GOD HAS BEEN A TRUE BLESSING THAT WILL STAY IN MY HEART FOREVER. I DON'T KNOW WHY I'VE NEVER HEARD OF SUE THOMAS BEFORE. GOD KNEW I NEEDED THIS ENCOURAGEMENT TODAY. MY HEART IS SO FULL AND RUNNING OVER. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS WONDERFUL STORY WITH US. THANK YOU, MS. THOMAS FOR YOUR SERVICE AND DEDICATION TO AMERICA. ALSO, THANK YOU FOR NOT BEING AFRAID TO SHARE GOD AND HIS GREATNESS WITH THE WORLD. MAY GOD ALWAYS BLESS YOU AND PROTECT YOU.

Hi, my name is Deborah and I am the traveling companion / nurse of Sue Thomas. I spent 19 years living with her helping her to run the race of life, So I'm very intimately aware of all of the struggles and the physical challenges she faced. I will pray for you and your journey with leukemia. It's not easy, that's for sure. Just wanted you to know you're being thought of. Deborah
Thank you Deborah. I really do need your prayers. I'm taking an oral medication for my disease and God is making it work. My blood work is good at the present so please keep me in your prayers. It's been a long time since I've heard such an inspirational story and it really did make me realize how blessed I am. Be safe and have a healthy , happy NEW YEAR.
GOD BLESS YOU AND, AGAIN, THANK YOU.

SUE, was a blessing. May she rest in peace.
I have never seen the program Sue Thomas F.B.Eye, but this lady is absolutely amazing. I am watching her and saying to myself, I am not even close to her faith and strength. I find I whine a lot, blame God a lot, but Sue is an inspiration, and I can only pray that the Lord gives me even just a little of her faith. Rest in Peace Sue, Jesus will for sure say to you "Well done, good and faithful Servant". You deserve it Sue. She puts me to shame.
What a beautiful Soul !!!! ❤️🌹
God ‘s love pours out of her
May she Rest In Peace in Jesus name
Love from Melbourne Australia
What a beautiful, beautiful lady. And the beauty coming out of her heart is a reflection of the Lord Jesus.
Loved learning about her through the Sue Thomas series. I’m deaf, it’s not been an easy journey. Praying for a healing.
Use your gift child of God. The Heavenly Father's as need of your gifts and talents were you are. As you walk by Faith and not by sight. They need you gifts in the house of the Lord. Maybe as a Church greeters or Sunday School Teacher. My prayers 🙏 are with you
@GABRIEL.🕎 why do you say that?
@GABRIEL.🕎 Oh my, Ouch! The only sound I hear is low, high tones are off the chart. My hearing aids will shut off when the low decibels frequencies become to high. Very painful and I’m told to remove my self from the room, to prevent more damage. ( loud base is most painful). Im no audiologist, but I’m wondering if one can fit something that would muffle the sound and make it more comfortable for you?
Every word is God this God that etc
What a beautiful spirit. Her testimony is so inspiring. She makes you see we are surrounded by blessings large and small every day.
Hello Dear

I remember the show and watched everyone and was sorry when the series ended. I wanted more because it was exciting to watch entertaining without the violence. Today's shows have so much violence and darkness.

Hello Dear
How are you doing today?
I’m here in tears for many reasons others have written. I first saw Sue on one of my favourite episodes of Doc (although I just clicked it was her) but I was blessed to see Sue Thomas FB eye a few years ago thanks to my mum. But to see her heart and her love for Christ and I think…. How I long to be that example for the one who has bought me so far and given his life for me. God bless Sue Thomas, all see accomplished and may her rest in Christ now be so fulfilled.
I knew Sue Thomas and Levi long before the TV Show. I remember he as she wished: "a woman of faith that had a tremendously deep love of God". A humble person who wanted deeply to share God's love with all people. The Sue Thomas in this interview is just how I remember her. Always pleasant, earnest, patient, insightful, honest, and caring. God bless you Sue and look forward to seeing you in heaven.
I loved this show I never knew it was based on a real person.
I can’t wait to meet her at the Throne of Grace!
What am adorable lady she was! Thank you Jesus that she is with her loving mother and Jesus now!
I'm one of the rubella kids who grew up with severe hearing impairment. Also mainstreamed in the public school. I am also Type 1 diabetic and have celiac disease. So I am becoming a 2nd degree black belt in taekwondo in April at the age of 58.
deaf ! but she hears so much ! , MS , then lung cancer. Her faith in God , never wavered. Listening to Sue Thomas , reaffirms our faith in God . .
Let God be magnified for our beautiful sister in Christ Jesus, amazing testimony.
Amazing grace embodies her. I absolutely loved the series! See you soon at the foot of Jesus.
Thank you for sharing about this wonderful lady. Sue is a very special gift from God to all of us. The series is a great salute to her life. I am very glad I found it on UA-cam, and i enjoy watching each one. Blessings to Sue, Levi, and the team making the movies! 🌹

Hello Dear
How are you doing today?
Thank you so very much for introducing me to this blessed, beautiful lady. In my own self I'm afraid I wouldn't have felt blessed but quite obviously she was God's strong woman, fulfilling His plan, embracing all that He had planned for her life. I'll have to find that show of her life. It sounds like a great piece of recent history for a homeschooling season. Once again, thank you and God keep you all. Blessed Christmas, honoring Christ our Savior's birth!
One of my favorite shows!!! I was so sad when the show ended, but now I get to watch it again on PBS . You are a beautiful inspiration to all and I'm so happy you did this interview!!! God Bless and hope we get to meet in the clouds after the Rapture 🙏💕🙏

What a blessing you are. My mom has passed away five years ago and she had MS also. I think her first onset was when I was 5 or 6 years old in 1963-64. She was diagnosed in 1986. She had a great deal issues all those years. She was my inspiration to fight through challenges and always pray. I truly loved the show and often watch reruns. You are a great lady. May God always fill your heart. Merry Christmas to you

THANX 4 TEACHIN ME HOW 2 LIP READ. STILL GOT ME HEARIN BUT THEY TOOK THAT ABILITY AWAY FROM ME.
Bless her heart, she is hearing the magnificent music of heaven. She so graciously over came "disability" deafness , Multiple Sclerosis because she knew and abided in the Lord. I loved the TV show and her example has done so much to help me deal with my own temporarily inconvenient body. HE is faithful beyond words.
