    "If you're not like me, and like a machine that doesn't do very much..." really? Clown. Please run on it and talk about things that are actually relevant as opposed to talking about whether or not it looks like an iPhone and which one is shinier...

      Yeah dude is 6'5. I think he forgot most women aren't 6'5. What's easy for him to reach on the Nordictrack isn't for someone who is 5'2. That Nordictrack is a BOAT. Wife would not approve of a 65' size Cadillac in the room.

    Guys the customer service issue with Nordictrack are real. I decided to get the 1750 on 12/31/14 and it was delayed. Got it on 1/17/15. The package came with a broken screen. I refuse delivery, after waiting a days and almost 2 hrs to get through to Customers service I finally got a replacement treadmill ... They told me on 1/19/15 it would ship the next day. Today is 2/2/15. I canceled my order today. Customers did nothing to reassure me... I even told them that they were awful and they really didn't care. I will get myself a Sole. Nordictrack suck. Trust me.

      Well all I can say is the 4 different Nordictrack machines I've ordered all came right when they were supposed to and came in working condition. No delays, no broken parts. I'm not saying your story is made up, just saying that I think highly of Nordictrack because I've never had any problems with them and have enjoyed their machines. I can understand why you feel the way you do, but hopefully you can understand why I feel the way I do as well.

      +Treadmill Review Guru I work as a Customer Service Representative for Nordictrack and I am also a certified technician. With that being said, I would never recommend our product (or any other machine manufactured by Icon Health and Fitness) to anyone!!!!!

    NordicTrack was last sold to Icon about 15 years ago or so. Their quality improved a lot after 2010. Both those machines have similar warranties I believe, and both are pretty solid brands in the industry. I prefer NordicTrack because I like the bells and whistles. It is certainly more enticing to use. But it comes down to personal preference.

    You needed to discuss the lack of reliability, poor malfunction track record, and poor customer service for the 1750. I found too many posts by actual users who were really upset about non working machines and how they were handled by Nordic track customer service. The ifit feature also has rampant problems according to posts online by actual users, and it costs $100 per year extra.
    I decided to go for the Sole F80. It's good enough for Hilton hotels. I want a reliable machine. It doesn't make sense to do a review of a motorized computerized treadmill without considering this as the primary criteria.

      fireonice233 I've still got both these machines and neither one has given me trouble. I can't speak to customer service of either brand as I haven't needed them. But both get regular use. My neighbor is now using the Sole F80 and it's held up great for her. 5'5" and about 120 lbs., jogs regularly on it.

    What is the height from ground to the running surface? It seems too high for my small basement height.

    As a 6' 8" runner, I found this review to be quite helpful. You should have your friend review more treadmills, because there are tall people like me who have a hard time with a lot of fitness equipment. Unfortunately I think the extra step-up height of the nordic track would make it height prohibitive in my basement (I have a 7' ceiling in my basement where I run and I already have my treadmill located so my head is between the beams or I'd be hitting my head already... if it were a few inches taller, I think it'd be even worse.
    I have a nordictrack a2750 but it is likely on its way out, having belt skip issues, have replaced practically everything in the stupid thing and had multiple "pros" try to fix it, so I am shopping around and the f80/f85 were on my list. This review helped, thanks.

      Matt Adams How long have you owned your Nordic? I have never had my own treadmill so this is new to me. I do love to walk but living in Texas it gets really hot or sometimes really cold which makes up for my some of my decisions. I'm willing to spend some money on a good treadmill. I will be the only one using it. Since I am not a serious runner, just walker should I go with something simpler? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Second is that their customer service is really bad. Hope you have used your Nordic for some time now. Do you still think it is a good treadmill to go with?

      I am still very happy with it. The only thing I am slightly disappointed in is how the buttons are hard to press while moving. They require a precise touch which is difficult when you're moving at a fast pace and want to slow down quickly using one touch. Other than that, it is a great model. Loved the sleek design in your video though. Wonder why they did away with such a sleek modern look for this one?

    I've read the specs, so I know they are comparable to each other. The trick is the reliability, though. Sole is KNOWN to be reliable through and through. The Nordictrack name has been spotty and many reviews are mixed. I still would go with the 1750 as I have had good luck with my other Nordic. The bells and whistles turn a boring run into a interesting view! I NEED that because of my A.D.D. Ha!

      I've had two Commercial 1750 models as well as the X9i incline trainer. None of them have given me any problems. I sold my older 1750 (2012 model) when I got the 2013 model but in the year I had it, it was great. Also have an older Audiostrider 990 elliptical that is just fine. I don't know why Nordictrack gets so many complaints online. I've used 4 of their machines and none of them has given my any trouble yet. I sold that Sole F80 to my parents and it has held up great for them, so worth noting that both of these machines are still doing great.

      Treadmill Review Guru Thanks for the update. I appreciate that you took the time to respond. I'm not sure why NordicTrack gets so many complaints either, but the web is full of them. I have another question. I have a chance to purchase a barely used Lifespan 1200i for $550. Do you have an opinion on that treadmill? Thanks.

    • @treadmillreviewguru4347
      @treadmillreviewguru4347  9 років тому +1

      Ron Reynard Lifespan is a brand I've read a lot about and know their specs, but never had an opportunity to use one of their machines. From what others have said and the specs I've seen, Lifespan machines are pretty good. I have their rower and it's been great for 3 years now. I'll say what I tell everyone though. I would never buy a used treadmill. You just don't know what it's been through. Also voids the warranty. It may be a great machine that was treated poorly or been run to death. The motor might be on its last legs. You have no way of knowing really. So I would be cautious about used treadmills if I were you.

    • @stefcilly
      @stefcilly 8 років тому

      +Ron Reynard You can also look up NordicTrack on the Better Business Bureau website. The parent name of the company is Icon Health and Fitness, they manufacture NordicTrack, Proform, Welso, Golds Gym, and many others. It's a terrible company and their machines are all made in China.....the quality sucks.

      Derek Lariviere I feel the same..I wanted to watch an actual amateur treadmill user like me to use one. I want to see how the buttons all work, how I would set it & take off from there. I will be purchasing one soon, still undecided as to which one. Maybe I can post a video. Do you own one and if so what brand or what brand are you favoring the most. I am willing to spend over a $1000 just need some good feed.

    Like anything, what you pay is what you'll get. If you're a serious about this, see if there's a fitness store near you. If nothing else, you'll have all the information you need to make an educated decision. You may ultimately decide one of the treadmills featured here will do the job, but if you're committed to getting/staying in shape or the machine will have multiple users, chances are you're not going to be happy with a department store treadmill.

Firstly mines rock solid unlike the badly assembled one your showing. First screw Apple. I don't give a rip if something looks & feels like Apple. I want solid machine and good customer service.
    Nordictrack FAILS at that.
    The Nordictrack would be to big for my 5' wife. The console while it might work for dude in orange at 6'5 doesn't do it for shorter people.
    I know my wife wouldn't be able to reach the tablet. Also I can't imagine she would approve of having a BOAT of a machine in the living room. It's like having a 65' Cadillac.
    Yes Sole annoyed me with all the stickers. Take them off. Simple. I want reliability and solid customer service and Sole delivers. Want a gauge of which is more reliable? Take a look at the want ads. Here in my city not a single F80 for sale. Tons of Nordictrack of various models. There a reason for that ;)
    I have a Sole elliptical that's going solid after six years. It's so quiet you'll make more noise walking across my wood floor. I work out at ten pm and five am, it's that whisper quiet.
    Also look into Icon/Nordictrack customer service reviews.
    www.treadmilldoctor.com/ranking-system-of-manufacturer-customer-service
    Rank almost last. While Sole may be last in adopting new tech which I like to Lexus or Toyota you KNOW what they have will endure and last.

    This treadmill is a POS. Had one for the last two months and am finally just returning it and eating the freight cost. I've had numerous problems with it from day one. Squeaking noises, shocks you constantly, ticking noises from drive motor, etc. Customer service is terrible btw. I waited on hold almost two hours between two different calls. Even if the treadmill mechanicals weren't bad, the software running it is not user friendly. I would definitely not recommend this machine.

    A very poorly produced review. First of all, don't use a smartphone or cheap camcorder with auto iris because the exposure is horrible. Also, what about for people who run. Not a word about that. This is total crap!!
