Need a demonstration with various sized people. Too tight between door and seat for me and most other people except above knee amputees. I am 6'8" - 375 lb, below knee amputee drive a 2019 Chevy Tahoe LT. Thank you for posting this video.
I have used this (type) of adaptive seating for my son for 20 years. Ours is not this Brand. Although it served it's purpose ours did not come without sacrifice. The original seat was not comfortable, and to be honest quite ugly. I have been an Industrial Technician for 40 years so we decided to adapt the stock seat to the lift mechanism. It was't quite as easy as i thought it would be, it worked fine. This unit is VERY impressive. It appears to have "right" everything that is "wrong" with ours. I am ready for another vehicle and will probably go with the same type again. My wife saw this one and wanted me to check it out. This is one of the best overall designs that i have seen yet. Any time that your OEM seat can be used, and no sacrifice to full function, well people it's a win. I will DEFINITELY be looking at this one. It would be awesome to see a wireless pendant, with a plug-in hard wire Emergency Backup. Also just saying, when it is 17deg. outside, and the wind is whipping, it always seems to take forever to retract. Or when it is raining. I know it is what it is. Still overall this one has my attention. Judging by the audio i could hear the motor running non labored. That tells me that the gear reduction is set up efficiently. Finally if I may say, folks I am not affiliated with this company. I simply want to comment on what seems to be a great product for those of us that need this type of technology. Speaking from my experience ONLY, you get what you pay for. So when your spending a few thousand dollars don't make wrong decisions based on a couple hundred dollars in price difference. Because at the end of the day you will be spending more for Tylenol and blood pressure medicine while you deal with that "Best In Price" unit you purchased. God Bless You All. Who knows this just may be the Best In Price unit.
It sounds like you are very knowledgable about this! Everything you said is spot on. And yes I have been telling them about a wireless pendant. Although for $150 you could get the tablet that you can use. However the tablet has programming features that a person can goof thing up real quick. William
Mobility One Transportation Agreed. Putting programming access into the end users capability is usually not a good idea. The argument for wired vs wireless usually is based on reliability. Our pendent has had broken conductors twice, and since the buttons are mechanical ( push-type), they have failed many times. Now for the most part my take on this that anytime you can eliminate a mechanical action from an electrical device is good design practice. That being said a wireless unit would be more efficient. Some lifts already use this. Pendants are nice as a EM backup, as they typically are used only in that scenario of a wireless system failure and bypass that control system. And for a total systems failure, a mechanical crank, which most units provide for. Well gotta run. I have to go out and work on my Sons lift seat. Thank God it’s only 34 degrees out! Lol. Unfortunately it’s true!
@@marlascott9981 Up here in Saint John New Brunswick Canada. Lawtons Home Healthcare wants $10000. My daughter is 21 and she uses a Bruno model 1370e. Discontinued.Terrible model.. Within a month we are taking this model or the Linked seat. New Brunswick has a retrofit program that pays up to $8000. Check your province or state..
Nice to see such a thing, but it would have been better to actually SEE someone use it- it doesn’t look like there is enough room to clear the door with someone’s knees. Also, it would probably give someone more room if the door were on modified hinges allowing it to swing further out.
Just wondering if this seat is very comfortable. I have a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan Crew with leatherrette seats. Could go with the OEM seat with the Link. That is going to be a determining factor for our daughter. Comfort right up with safety is very important. We used a Bruno Turny seat 1370e last 7 years (unsafe and crappy) and don't want to get burned again .
If you have range of motion issues and can't bend your knees to a 90° angle you'll have to sit sideways in the seat until it's inside the truck. There's absolutely no way a person who can't bend their knees can use this as intended. It's a great invention though. It would just take personal adaptation.
You are correct, not all products are going to fit everyones needs. There are also door opening limitations that someone with those limitations might encounter also. Just from what you have stated it sounds like a wheelchair accessible vehicle would be for you.
All I'd really need is seat that lifts up and over to left to be more inline with the height of my wheelchair. I drive a Cougar and a Mark VIII. I prefer a coupe over any truck or van.
Hi Zander, this can be installed a lot of different vehicle. We have installed them in Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet and Toyota trucks so far. What vehicle do you have?

Thats fine as far as it goes. I wanted to see a disabled person demonstrate it.

It would be a nice add on if the door could hinge outward to give more leg clearance, or hinge up like Lamborghini door

Good to know that the Bruno Turney is less than desirable.
The LINK also uses the factory seat and cushions.
From what I can see it’s going to be very tight for the person’s legs to get into the vehicle as a matter of fact it could injure your legs
We have another video posted that shows the ample leg clearance.
