@@FrenchieFSD I drive Uber in my Tesla Y all around Chicagoland, and I am dumbfounded thinking about how a computer would handle the variety of intersections and situations. It seems impossible. I also have taken several Waymo rides in Arizona with no one in the driver’s seat and was extremely impressed on how confidentially it drove, even on roads with no lane markings. However, it didn’t take any highways and it took very few left turns. It opted to take 3 right turns instead of a left turn which made the rides a lot longer than necessary.
Good video. You may be taking over when not needed as the car has the room or the timing of the traffic is appropriate in making the maneuvers. I wouldn't want FSD to only move when everything is clear as its not the way we drive. I want it to also be aggressive in squeezing in like it did on the on ramp otherwise other drivers won't give way but I understand better safe than sorry.
I agree and to be fair, for a very long time, I would do the same. I only saw the sign about 6 months ago. One day FSD will read that sign and will move over correctly.
On March 20 Elon tweeted that there is limited value in testing of version 8.x because of improvements in version 9.0. So there might not be anyone looking at your reports. But I like your videos.
I agree. Might have to drop the reports altogether. As you mentioned if v9 comes out it will be very different from 8.x so no point comparing them. I secretly hope that v9 is so good that we will get very few disengagement ps moving forward.
@@FrenchieFSD i know you likely will inform the team by email. Are there ever stop signs on the highway? Perhaps in construction? Very interesting :) great video :)
@@FrenchieFSD does it actually change into regular AP/FSD on highway or is it just the UI that changes ? I thought FSD beta also had better performance on highways compared to regular AP/FSD ?

I’m in charge of the vehicle so technically I’m the driver. Was there something in this video that made you think it’s illegal? If so then, I can take that into account next time I go for a drive. Thank you!
I know but I'm actually supervising the car. I'm not doing other things while the car is driving. I think about this just like cruise control on the highway. When you put the car with cruise control, you still have to monitor the car. This is the same. It's doing maneuvers for me and if it does something incorrect, I take over.
@@FrenchieFSD I think the criticism is not against you, but against the idea of Tesla beta-testing a self-driving car in the first place. Currently there are strict rules in several states regarding the testing of self-driving cars, including submitting a list of vehicles being tested, insurance coverage, and reporting disengagements. Tesla gets around those rules by considering FSD a Level 2 driver-assistance package - in other words, a car with a feature called "full self driving" that's doing most of the driving but that's not actually considered a "self-driving car". It's very much a legal grey area and runs against recommendations by agencies like the NTSB.
Hi Tien! This version of the software is in Beta. Still in development. It's not available to the public. If you are looking to update your Tesla, on the car display, you should see a "Software" menu. You should be able to see if your car is on the latest version.
Love your contents, keep up the good work!
This was an extra good one, thank you!!!;)
Great Job. Please Keep going further
Please consider emailing a link of this video to the Tesla team. You really do a fantastic job.
I wonder if the Tesla autopilot team watches these videos. It seems like great data for them to use! Those blind corners are kind of scary!
I hope they do. I think they could be useful for them to understand what the FSD Beta is capable of, today.

Oh, and the roads in Chandler are PERFECT, with no difficult intersections. Mostly straight roads, no potholes.
I like the camera on top.

At 6:00, that other Tesla wasn't on FSD, it just knew that it could out accelerate any other car and get onto the on ramp in time.

We need to see 14:25 turn again when v9 comes out. Easy for a human.
Also, it seems like you're the only public FSD users in Chicago on UA-cam.
At 8:02 there really was a stop sign on the right side of the highway 🤯
Yes after reviewing the footage there was a sign but that for the road next to the highway. Welcome to Chicago! NoA would have ignored that.

I thought fsd beta changes into autopilot when you merge into a highway.
I think I saw in one of dirty Tesla's video.
It does usually but not everywhere in my case. It’s nonetheless interesting to see the difference between the two systems.

How is this legal? In England you have to pass a driving test to drive a car. Doesn't the car have to pass a driving test to drive itself?

maybe the layout is confusing. If you watch some of my earlier videos, you'll see the inside of the car. I have my hands on the wheel at all time.
