There are women who are trafficked this way. The yakuza aren’t strangers to this. The border control might have used a private room and had translator services to assist, making an effort to contact the female passport holder. Something feels amiss. I think packages, cigarettes, and tropical foods were given more scrutiny. Maybe, too, the editing of the video left something out.
Funny how she tried to thwart the customs officer with only speaking chinese, and then she gets shut down by the officer actually speaking chinese, lol.
So frustrating to watch. “May receive a $400 fine.” How about WILL receive one week jail term minimum. Japanese foregn national - as soon as woman’s passport is found he should’ve been in cuffs. What a joke the entire system is.
Smuggling dangerous goods into the country gets you a fine, the mere suspicion of you wanting to work as a dish washer for a couple of months will get your visa revoked.
The fines are pathetically small. Bringing food into Australia would stop immediately if the threat of visa cancellation was enforced. Most of these tourists know full well that they are bringing dangerous food into our country. They don’t care.
If the Chinese passenger doesn't speak English at all, how in the world is she a student in Australia? Do they have universities that conduct classes in Mandarin?
No lie, one of my university lecturers passed six Chinese students whose English was so poor that they were literally at "See Spot run. See Spot walk and run." level. The class was a written journalism class and he let them submit assignments in Chinese. There was a whole investigaton and everything.
The disregard these visitors show to the safety and security to the host's country is outrageous. The fines clearly aren't high enough to discourage people. Maybe it's time to start refusing people entry.
@@Chunky318 It insane. An imported asian fly has literally wiped out Florida's orange industry, worth billions. That's what's at stake. It's like the border authority isn't taking this seriously. What some Chinese tourists take into Australia would make one think there was no food in the Country. i have lived there and there is plenty of food there.😅
I'm not sure if anyone else acts or behaves in the same way when entering their respective countries, if they're let in at all. Perhaps it is time for Australia to start banning admittance to everyone who ignores its safety and biosecurity. The $300 fine is simple and encourages people to repeat their actions.

It is not rude if you are just visiting. I wouldn’t even say it’s rude if you are living there if you plan to learn the language after you move. Not many people learn a language to just visit somewhere.
Chinese Mum and Pops smugglers with goods that could contaminate Australian wildlife and agriculture and cause massive damage always get a slap on the wrist with a fine. Stuffing your suitcase full with contraband should be a reason to cancel somebodies visa, "perhaps"?
@ here in the US you might hear a whole bunch about fentanyl and the problems that come from it. The main focus is stopping it from coming in the country where that will work in small quantities, but the real solution of the problem would be to get these people help make a situation that they’re in much better by doctors, housing psychiatrist, etc. if I want to do drugs and only 10 to 50% get stopped it’s just gonna drag the price up, but I will always be able to do those drugs and they will always find a way to come into a country whereas if you stop 50% of the people by helping them that number decreases drastically and know what I mean That was kind of where my comment comes from Thanks.
Those that have been caught with food items should be fined individually for each item not one for everything then see how they fell and banned from entry .
The young Chinese girl is so beautiful. It is unbelievable there is no Japanese interpreter available to interview the suspicious businessman and that they let him enter the country without verifying the Japanese woman was OK. とても怪しやつだと思わない?
Do you agree with how the officer handled the man with the mystery passport?
They should have seized that passport. It wasn't his...it could serve many illegal purposes. And where is the woman ?
@BorderSecurityOfficial i think they investigated it further than what we saw on the video. It was edited perhaps....cut and paste.

When the heck are people going to stop hauling bags that were packed by someone else????
It is time to drastically increase the fines ! Then they will think twice about playing the game !
The price will increase few ten thousand dollars...so they'll be better off to bring foods to Australia.
The Japanese guy was definitely up to no good. Insane how they let him go.

A $400 fine is nothing to these rich Chinese students
Smuggling dangerous goods into the country gets you a fine, the mere suspicion of you wanting to work as a dish washer for a couple of months will get your visa revoked.
But still she was crying, and she had brought all these items so far because they were just cheap in her hometown. So, she might be rich but miserly.
Can't speak the country language or English,, how r these guys move around. Chinese interpretation everywhere in a English speaking country.😂
$400 maybe should be the base fine, then $800 for every kilo of contraband in addition.
Bigger fines, they all know. Cheers Rosemary Western Australia 74yrs
$420 fine. Fake tears. She can afford it.
They should have gotten an interpreter for the Japanese traveller. There was something off about having someone else's passport.

I don't understand why people bring eggs to Australia. Plenty of Chinese supermarkets sell them
I think it's cheaper. Cause once you buy it in Australia, the price are higher due to imports through legitimate ways
That is not just an egg… either salted egg or century egg and of course it is more expensive in Australia

This is the second case where someone was caught with another person’s passport. Both times the person was allowed to pass through.
