11:39 aint no way i was revising and got all the way to log base 5 of 3125 from the quadratic of 1/625 X 5^2x -5 ( 5^x) and then when i click resume u can solve it like that 😅
For the second question at 11:30 could you take ln at both sides? How would you distinguish if you should use ln logs or quads in disguise? If taking ln to both sides doesn’t work why is that thanks
Quads in disguise is when there's a mix of constant and exponential terms, with the powers of the exponential terms being such that one is double the other. The constant term is often the give away! Otherwise taking logs is a good approach.
Yes - remember the grade boundaries aren’t super high, so you’re not aiming for full marks, your aiming to show everything you can do in the given time. Skip things that are wasting your time for only a couple of marks, and make sure you show the examiner everything you can do. Do as much practice as you can, and then try and relax whilst doing the exam. People work best when they are relaxed! If you get totally stuck on a question because of an error you’ve made, I’d recommend restarting the question if you have time, as it’s usually easier to do than trying to find a tiny mistake. Hope those tips help!
@@BicenMaths Thank you so much, Sir!!! Honestly been panicking quite a bit about these exams, so I’m very grateful for the advice (I have a nasty habit of staying too long on a question I can’t do 😅 but I’ll stick to what you say)!! Also, I really appreciate you taking time out of your weekend to reply to me, it really means a lot!! :)

Hi Sir! For the last question, why does it ask for the answer to 3dp if the answer is just 5? Would they want us to write 5.000 in the exam? XD
If it is exactly 5, I’d just leave it as 5. They’re not toooo fussy about things like this on the whole. Good luck!
@@BicenMaths Thank you so much sir! Big day on Tuesday, any last minute advice? 😁
