  • Bandit was only 4 years old when he came to me for re-training. He had already been to two natural horsemanship trainers, spending months with each. He was a rescue when his owner adopted him and after both trainers, he was never the same. The last straw was when he exploded under saddle when his owner mounted him, sending her into the emergency room. That's when she did some searching on UA-cam and found my videos.
My work is holistic and focuses on the spiritual, emotional, mental and physical aspects of the whole horse and their well-being.
This video is a review of Bandit's third week of round pen work with me. My first session was an assessment and designed to get to know him, get a baseline of information. Assessments are designed to help you read the horse, understand them, so you know how they feel. From there you know what tools needed to help him learn, grow, release and develop.
The purpose of my round pen work is to develop the following in the horse and between us:
    - Relationship, bonding
    - Connection & conversation
    - Trust
    - Respect
    - Confidence
    - My 3 "R's": responsiveness, rhythm, relaxation
    - Joining in mind, body & soul

Caroline, I enjoy watching different trainers and how they work with their horses. Your videos help me learn what I want to accomplish with my ground work and the process I need to apply to get my mare more relaxed and build her confidence.

I am a novice horse person and this has opened my eyes and mind to everything you're talking about. I love the natural horsemanship, what are your thoughts on horseshoes? I love the idea of bitless, as I have always thought it was cruel.

Hi Darlene and Welcome! Horses don't need shoes. There is recent research to prove that if your horse's hooves are trimmed correctly, with balance and heel, they can sustain tremendous impact and traction. You have to find the right barefoot trimmer though that specializes in this type of trimming.

How do make horse not connected to the whip but to you

I know I'm a little bit late to this, but hopefully I can answer your question.
If the horse is connected to the whip, they are connected to you. The whip is nothing more than an extension of your body and your energy, and the horse will view it as such. Hope this helps!

@@_veronica_r hi! This was a year ago. Caroline has taught me so much since then. I’m still a very loyal student. I didn’t know a lot then. I understand now. Thank you for reaching out!
