I love how you guys release these episodes whenever I have to take my usual 2 hours drive to my old hometown. Really help fill the dull driving experiences going there and back.
Re; Theatrhythm, there are three characters from the "XIII Series" (ie; the sequels). It's Serah, Noel, and Lightning with her LR design. My intuition is that in transitioning this from an arcade game to something with more robust RPG systems, they had to work really hard to even find unique abilities to give the 104 characters who are in, and perhaps correctly surmised that, at least in Japan where the arcade game was active, people would be more upset if they cut characters than if they didn't add new ones. Unfortunate all around as I was really hoping for Jack too.
Going to elaborate on that one podlord's comment on Lobcorp. So, the game is broken up into several weeks. The last week requires you to have finished all of the supporting characters' missions in order to get through it all. The game also gives you a rewind point at the start of each week. What this means in practice is that if you're going through the game blind you'll hit that wall, realize you're stuck on the first day of the last week, and *have to roll back to the first day*, albeit with a few things that carry over upon a reset. You also have to get full research on every canonical thing in your facility to get the sequel hook ending, but that's much more manageable. As for actually playing the game, it turns out that once your guys are leveled up and geared sufficiently, most of the abnormalities you're working with don't actually need much oversight, and so you can focus your attention on the smaller number that do [and given how the game's progression works you'll be wanting to work with that smaller number of higher-threat ones anyway]. Don't get me wrong; the game is still overly difficult, and I had to resort to debug keys to get past a certain day for both difficulty and technically-related reasons. But there are ways to mitigate the sheer amount of things that need your attention in the game, and thus make your life a whole lot easier.
About a minute in and and imagined a 10 ft tall Fist-of-the-North-Star-villain/One-Piece-character ass version of Kris for a sec and feeling fear in my heart
About RE5make, Luis has more to do this time around, and I think it's because the team is getting their feet wet with AI partners. So Sheva can be smarter. The same way RE3make and Village had elements that prepared the team for RE4make.
Compare the story archs of the Brotherhood from Saints Row 2 to the Los Panteros in Saints Row The Saints Row and its LAUGHABLE how shallow the new game is.
2:06:55 Yoooo that is stolen directly from Vampire the Masquerade LARP rules, somebody on this did their homework or was a player. I am genuinely confused how all that genuine fun ended up in a game rawer than Blood 2
It was funny to me how Synapse appeared in the same State of Play as Destiny 2 Lightfall, since they both will have waveform psychic powers in different colors. Only one of them has a grapple, though, so... Speaking of the bit about power levels, Destiny does seem to be slowly, and painfully, moving away from them now that the fact that it does nothing meaningful has become more readily apparent to people.
UMvC3 at Evo is the first of a new thing they’re doing, in which one slot will be taken by a throwback legacy title. New MvC probably(?) isn’t happening any time soon. They just want the Marvel hype back.
Dr. Aggro is climbing a mountain, why is he climbing a mountain? Dr. Aggro is climbing a mountain, why is he climbing a mountain? To hug the mountain. To embrace...that mountain. To hug the mountain. To embrace...that mountain. He wants to make love to the mountain.
That Firaxis news sucks to hear. I really hope that Midnight Suns didn't end up gutting the XCOM devs for their inevitable commercial failure of a non-Insomniac Marvel game and that we get a new XCOM eventually. Cuz the last expansion for the last mainline game was six years ago.
1:47:17 "we haven had a game this hollow/unfinished since 7th gen" what about day-one no man's sky or cyberpunk'77? I'm not being rhetorical I didn't play those games at launch but the zeitgeist at the time was those games were clearly unfinished, but in different ways
It's specifically when the author really blatantly reaches into the story to kill somebody's wife off for cheap emotional value. The example given above is 'wifent' because they introduce her, give her zero story or agency, and then treat it as a huge tragedy that Dom 'mercy kills' her instead of trying to get her help. The term can easily be changed to "sisternt" or "carnt" when the author blatantly kills/destroys a character for pure emotional value.
@VFXNinja awesome reply, really appreciate the breakdown. I really love this avenue of terminology as it can apply to things outside of games and want it to become a part of more people's lexicon.

I think it's very fitting fact that dr. aggro's new avatar is taken from the PSA scene where Dr. livesey explains that smoking kills.
You can't escape Gat outta hell Kris, you gotta see Johnny Gat's 4/10 hellventure
The way Dan describes puzzling places makes me feel that we could use a resurgence in god sim games like Black and White
The downward slope of watching the Suicide Squad presentation and then later on reading on Twitter that it is always online. Sentenced to death.
I was using my wireless speaker so I went from calm music to "WWWAAAAKKKEE UP GAMERS CAUSE YOU LISTENING TO BIG THINK DIMENSION"
Phenomenal timing on this upload, I just sat down for the night.
That suicide squad reveal gave me huge Saints row reboot reveal vibes
Hell yeah. Midnight listen!
Leave Sillydillo to me.
The boys talking about Déraciné dug up old wounds of Bloodborne speculation. Been a while
Wonderful. We have 2 Vtubers now.
It's spreading...

Boy I sure am glad between Wanted Dead and Evil West I picked the right one. Because Wanted Dead sounds terrible
The cutscenes have a lot of Cursed Content Club joy in them, but that's not a great "best part" for an action game.

Saints Row 4 is good, I'm not gonna take that slander
It's the Superman game we want and will never get. If it wasn't tied to Saint's Row it would have been better received
About a minute in and and imagined a 10 ft tall Fist-of-the-North-Star-villain/One-Piece-character ass version of Kris for a sec and feeling fear in my heart

You’re totally right!

When’s the Tonberry vs Gary Busey vs Jin Kariya vs Sillydillo Death Battle
Funny that you say that it gives you a feeling like the n64 and early 3d considering jontron said that in like 2013 about the oculus on game grumps
Could somebody tell which is the parody game of Goodbye Volcano high?
Snoot Game.
nice one boots

I wish Xbox was good enough for you guys to be as hyped with them as you are with Sony...
Me too! I love Halo and I wish it wa better and Rare turned out games again. I wish I had a list of games to look forward to from MS.

No Man’s Sky absolutely counts, the scaminess of it all overrides the hollowness. Still absolutely infuriating.
Since you're going to give GBVH its fair shake are you gonna follow it up by doing Snoot Game (the parody/fan game which came out prior)?
What exactly is wifen't I want to introduce the concept to my friends and have zero clue how to word it
You know the cutscene in gears of wars 2 where the second protagonist shots his wife after freeing her from months of torture? And then acts sad
@Morrigan101 so like the gorilla meme "Kill wife, think about wife, sad about wife"? Thanks btw, couldn't remember the Gigaboots wifen't origin story.
