- This week we travel to Centurion to take on the infamous Rietvlei dam. Rietvlei is well known by the specimen anglers. Lately the dam has produced a lot of good quality fish by bank anglers too. Join us in this new episode where I unveil some of my secrets in unlocking this temperamental dam.

Was Out there since Monday doing some boilie fishing an bait boat about 200m out an about 18 to 23m deep
First 2 nights so 2am i hooked a lovely 27KG carp and on Thursday i got a good one 2 about 9am so 17KG using cow Dung boilies
I first want to say that I really enjoy the channel. I am a beginner angler and everything I know is basically self taught. My gear is basically budget gear and I have been at times quite successful. But I want to step up my game so to speak. Could you consider making a vid or series looking at gear, types of rigs and when would they be used and maybe how to pick a spot. Also how temperature and seasons play a roll in carp fishing.

Thanks for this comment, that's what we do, keeping it simple and real. On any given day, any angler can catch a big fish or 100 small ones. We picked a spot that morning and we let the products do the talking and we documented our results... plain and simple. Tight lines man

I was at the Vaal river not so long ago and everyone else was catching like crazy only got one 1kg Carp and lost a barbel Any tips for me on how to not loose rigs and also to improve my chance of catching fish and lastly what sauces should I use

Fish closer to the bank instead of trying to reach the otherside if you in a wide section. Same rig as Loutjie.
Used to fish the river at Abrams off the R57 when it was still open. Kiana and Paint. Raptor and clove. Raptor floaty worked well or garlic on its day. Fishing was better on a Saturday than a Sunday if there was a lot of boat activity, put the fish off from my experience.

@@fishermanswingman As we mentioned in the video, we rock up like everybody else.NO pre-feeding. Karel the cameraman was there before me and he had a hard time just to find any open spots for us to shoot.

Rietvlei traces catch more fish . I ONLY USE BOTTO OR VAAL DAM TRACES FOR SELF DEFENCE
